I might do the interval training session again today with the lovely Laura. It was so bloody hard but felt like it was doing me a ton of good... Grin

still I'm trying myrunningtips.com. There are a few plans on there. Not a podcast though so I have to remember what I'm doing! I had a go at one by zenlabs but there is no music, just a disembodied voice going 'start running now' etc. I believe you can link spotify to it so you can listen to your own music with it but I'm not tech savvy enough to do that!

Wasting and Chameleon when we run and the oath gets narrow my DH does let me go first, or run on the road or the bumpy verge so that I can run on the path - I've got him well trained :)

My brother has a strap thing that goes around your hand and holds the bottle (hard to describe) which I'm going to try out tomorrow. I need water when I'm running, very unfit and gasping!

I did W6R1

it was hard going. I didn't think I'd be able to do it because I feel so low, So little motivation and so physically ill with stress. I cried through half of it. But its done.

:)

W7R3 done! So good to start running again. It rained a bit and there was lots of sea spray along the sea wall.

Edwinias - well done! It sounds as though you are having a shitty time. Things are going to get better, even if it doesn't feel like it.

Edwinia that sounds tough. Well done for getting out there Thanks

Just done W3R1 - I think five is my C25k buddy. The first 3 minute run was tough but I stupidly went up the steeper forest path. The second run was along a flat path and went much better. I felt like I paced myself and could've kept going after the 3 minutes.

Well done Edwinia Smile. As long as you don't put yourself off running though, I need my C25K buddy! I really hope things settle down for you.

I just did W6R2 - it was okay, hard work, but do-able. I love it when you feel that you could just keep running Smile. I was breathing in for 2 steps (while thinking 'these steps'), then out for 2 steps (while thinking 'only'), to help me to focus on the steps that I was taking, rather than on the next 5 minutes of steps that I had to take. Does anyone else do something similar BlushGrin?

My NHS C25K app isn't really working though (luckily I had a digital watch on, so I used that instead). If Laura, gives any useful tips from W6 onwards, can someone please tell me Grin? It's a shame, as I quite liked her.

Week 1, run 2 done! Funny how the road I always assumed was flat has suddenly become a gradual incline that I never noticed. Still, I did it! Music helps me massively, I have to say.

Still concerned about my SPD flaring up. Any pearls of wisdom will be gratefully received.

So can someone tell me about running shoes? I have trainers but they're not specific running shoes, is it worth investing in shoes before I start?

Hello ladies, can I join? I have downloaded an app and sorted out a couple of music playlists and thought about it a lot but not actually started it yetGrin I thought if I write my intentions here it will be much more difficult to avoid starting as planned next week!

I am an expert at the couch bit having been stuck at home with a very ill ds who has not been at school since last December. Fingers crossed he will be starting back at school next week and dd will go back the following day. So I plan to celebrate by doing my first session!

I really really need to get fitter and hope to be able to fit into my jeans better too!

I WILL be back next week..

Hi MyGast

How old are your trainers? If they are old, it is worth getting some new running shoes. Runners Need (and other places) do a gait analysis.

(Waves back to DaftMaul)

Well done Science you are on your way now.

And Enormouse you are indeed running buddy. Did W3R2 today jigged it about a bit as I failed my first 3 minute run managing only 2 before giving up on the hill, swapped the second runs around and the second 3 minutes were fine and felt I could of run a bit longer. Will swap the runs around again when I next run as I think that will be easier. I will be in a treadmill in Thursday as DC's have badminton is will e interesting to see what it's like not outside an no hills!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend

Hi!
Can I join? I have downloaded my app and will be hitting the gym to start on Wednesday!
Used to run many years ago - running for a bus would kill me now!
Need to get fit!

Week 1 run 3 done and I have managed to register so hopefully the rest of the podcasts will miraculously turn up Today I ran to dd1's playlist, which was great as I found lots of songs I can run in time to!

Blimey, my legs ache now though! I don't think I was well hydrated beforehand, which I don't think helped, but as I run with the dog, I can't manage to carry water too Blush might do a Pilates or yoga DVD tonight to see if stretching helps, otherwise i won't be able to jillian tomorrow.

Went out this morning intending to do W8R2. My phone had other ideas. It skipped to W8R3, so we did 30 minutes running! Shock

Covered 4.2km including the warmup and cool down walks, so I reckon next step is to map out a 5k route and see how long it takes us.

Welcome to all the new joiners - you'll amaze yourselves - I have! Grin

Well done chameleon!

In pain with my hips, alas. They were fizzing after the run, but an hour and a half walk through muddy woods has pretty much finished me off. I have been concerned that my SPD might flare with running, so will take some painkillers and keep a watchful eye through week 2 when the running (and impact?) increases Sad

I do not recommend leaving a four day gap between runs, today's was really hard! But, week 7 is over so I suppose the end is in sight..
I never carry water, I just have some in the fridge ready for getting home.

DD and I had our 5k Colour Run today but I think we must have walked two thirds of it :( It was really hilly in places and I found it really hard keeping to my slow-as-a-slug pace!
