I produced a child from my womb, a cough and cold won't hold me back for long! As soon as I can breathe properly again I'll be back out there.
If anyone's interested in headbands pm me, I make them to order so can manage most colours and I'm told they're ratger stylish.

MySpideySenseTickles · 19/10/2014 19:47

That is not me but that's the style I have done.

addictedtosugar · 19/10/2014 19:56

I've produced 2 children, but a cough and a cold has already knocked me out for 4 weeks (!) this year.
The headbands look great - How hot do they keep you? I overheat badly (running today in 3/4 trousers, and wished I'd not put on the long sleeved top - arms were pushed up as far as they went) so would be hesitating about wool?

MySpideySenseTickles · 19/10/2014 21:20

Not too bad because the heat escapes from the top of your head. I make them out of soft acrylic yarn so they're easy to care for too.

Redcliff · 19/10/2014 22:19

Sugar - thanks for the link . Is it just exercise or an eating plan as well? I don't think I can do C25k and something else at the same time - how do you manage it?

2down1togo · 19/10/2014 22:52

Hey all - I did it!! Actually didn't find it as hard as I thought it was going to be! :-) sneaked a look ahead to next weeks runs - 20 mins, what?!? Though starting to think that at this stage it's definitely becoming more of a mental battle than physical

2down1togo · 19/10/2014 22:55

Redcliff, the only time I can get out is after the kids have gone to bed. I've been very lucky with the weather so far...

addictedtosugar · 20/10/2014 09:14

Redcliff: Just excerise.
Super quick - only taking 5 mins at the moment. Tho it gets longer as the days go on. I also don't change into gym kit.....

2down: DON'T look ahead. You CAN do it. Your right, that final run in week 5 is mental, not physical. If you've done the previous weeks, you just need your mind to accept your body is ready for it.

DaftMaul · 20/10/2014 15:33

Hello, welcome to the new joiners and well done to those who are battling through the sessions!

Had a bit of a failure today. I didn't do my W6R3 on Friday as scheduled because of my 'crunchy' knee and wheezing. I gave my self the weekend off and tried again this morning. I walked dd to school so counted that as my warm up and started my 25mins run. I only managed about 10mins before my knee started hurting a bit. I stopped for a while and started again a couple of times but by the final time, my knee felt really unstable for a few paces, so stopped and walked home.

Have decided to give myself till after half term to see if it recovers and if not, I'll have to get it looked at. I do think it is something a did quite a while ago that has obviously flared up again.

I'm going to have a look at the 30day challenges and might try to take dd swimming too over the hols but that could be tricky as ds is not allowed to swim currently - constant juggling!

crappyday · 20/10/2014 16:49

I managed w2r1 today. My problem is I don't have a thing to hold my phone so I hold it in my hand. And I have to hold the dog lead too. Which is annoying! But first day when it wasn't raining which was nice.
I find it hard to plan a route as I got home too early today IYSWIM.
And it's very holly near me, so done of the time is uphill which I struggle with.

crappyday · 20/10/2014 16:50

And daftmaul I had a crunchy knee from falling on me knee- went to physio and apparently my kneecap was tracking wrong- 5 sessions of physio & the right exercises and its mostly better. Smile

DaftMaul · 20/10/2014 21:10

Thankyou crappyday, I suspect I will need to see someone. Well done for your run. I use a bum bag for my phone but have used a jacket pocket which was less ideal.

WastingMyYoungYears · 20/10/2014 21:13

Phew, I just ran for 25mins on the treadmill - it's boiling in here! I'm on the exercise bike now Grin...

Redcliff · 20/10/2014 21:20

Crappy - I brought a cheap phone holder from eBay - it's not great as the plastic is really thick but beats holding it.

Redcliff · 20/10/2014 21:24

Daft - poor knee - that sounds rough. Hope it gets sorted soon.

2down - after bed sounds like a good time to go. Have not got the youngest into a routine yet but hopefully soon. Does that mean you run in the dark? I think I would be a bit nervous about that.

MySpideySenseTickles · 20/10/2014 22:49

I have a phone holder thing that goes round your upper arm, I've had to extend the Velcro because karrimor think all runners are skinny but it's pretty cool, water resistant you can use the touch screen through it and no risk of it falling out.
Before I bought that I used to put my phone inside a sandwich bag in between my two bras can't stand bouncing boobies now the only thing in my bra is boobs and a car key.
Dh thinks it's hilarious that inside my bra is another bra, he calls it "titception"

I'm having to have a week or so rest, not only has my cough developed into a probable chest infection (drs tomorrow) but my left knee and ankle are pretty crappy at the moment.
I'll be back on it as soon as I can breathe without coughing until then I'll have to manage with walking and taking Ds swimming, chased Ds round a bit this afternoon playing tiggy and after not very long I started coughing so much I threw up and went dizzy.

2down1togo · 20/10/2014 22:51

crappyday - I put my phone into my bra!! down the side, because its a sports bra it holds it really well! First week out my iphone (old, just using as an ipod, thankfully!) fell out of my jacket pocket and the back smashed!
redcliff - yeah its dark, but I live in a residential area so there's street lights. I just run round the streets!

ScienceRocks · 21/10/2014 13:15

Well, that's week 8 done Shock It wasn't easy with the wind blowing and the dog tugging on her lead, and I only managed 3.5k in the 28 minutes, but 'tis done.

I have a little pocket on my trousers for my ipod, and clip my pedometer to my bra or knickers Blush If I wear different trousers or shorts, I put it in my hoodie pocket, which is quite deep and so it doesn't fall out. On the treadmill, it goes in the cup holder!

I am finding with the longer runs that I really do need some water. With the shorter ones, I was OK if I had some before and after, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Another thing to carry!

Daft, sorry your knee is still sore. Well done to everyone who is starting out. Trust in the programme and your ability to do it, and keep plodding away!

ScienceRocks · 21/10/2014 18:51

I can report that's having done run, jillian, run, jillian, run on consecutive days, my legs are killing me! Should I push on, I wonder, or take a rest?

stilllearnin · 21/10/2014 20:17

Hmm science. I'm no expert! When I am going at it properly like this I was doing 2x jillian, 3x runs, then a couple of abs routines. I always had one rest day (which I enjoyed very much!). Also doing that weekly meant I had another day with resistance style only exercise. Does that help?

stilllearnin · 21/10/2014 20:18

Oh, so that means yes, take a break Grin

ScienceRocks · 21/10/2014 22:45

Thanks still. I'd planned a rest day for Thursday so will see how I feel tomorrow. I literally feel beaten up, almost like the ache you get with flu Sad

Iggi999 · 22/10/2014 13:40

I'm due to run tonight but am starting to lose the love somehow Sad On my last day it was late and I decided to revisit an earlier day with intervals, and I could hardly do it I was knackered. I wonder if I've reached my limit?
(sorry for the me me me post)

stilllearnin · 22/10/2014 14:29

Iggi, your own posts are supposed to be about you of that's what you need! Grin

Ive lost track what week are you on? Do you mean your physical limit or psychological? I doubt its physical. I'd say you have to put some love back in. Maybe a different route or time of day? Different music? Run with a friend? But basically go out with no expectations at all. That's why I prefer the 5k+ stamina (35mins) to the stepping stone (30 mins) - I don't feel as pressured to complete my route before the music stops. Miles more enjoyable! It will come back- I promise.

MySpideySenseTickles · 22/10/2014 14:30

Still coughing, really annoyed that I can't run, it was a lovely sunny morning and Dh is off work sick so could watch Ds. But alas, I walked up the stairs and had to lie down on the bed after coughing loads.
