Ds is off school after vomiting so they won't let him back for 48hrs. I'd have to skip tomorrow's run but I can pick up the treadmill tonight so can still run and watch ds too! And I can pick up my new car this afternoon too.

CruCru · 14/10/2014 11:44

Yep, Wasting, it is me. What colour did you get? I have it in blue. It is AWESOME.

That's what I like about my treadmill Spidey! Don't have to leave the house. Hope your DS is feeling better soon.

lovetoski · 14/10/2014 13:22

After failing to run the 20mins for wk5 r3 on Sunday was determined to do it today and I did it. So pleased I could have easily given up before half way but strangely found the second 10 minutes easier and I even ran faster for the last minute. Roll on week 6.
Dh completed wk5 r1 very early this morning didn't want him catching up with me. Am I a runner yet?

MySpideySenseTickles · 14/10/2014 14:36

He's better already Theyre just massively paranoid about vomiting. Might go out tomorrow lol

MySpideySenseTickles · 14/10/2014 19:43

I have a new car and a treadmill.
New car is tiny, new treadmill is massive, much bigger than I thought so I'm glad it folds! Love never seen one like it before, it has air resistance so there's like a fan at the front and handles like you get on a cross trainer, weird but free and works perfectly so I'm happy.

ScienceRocks · 14/10/2014 20:28

Yay spidey!

Just done week 7 run 3. Starting to panic at the thought of finishing the programme. I'm not ready to run 5k. I don't run fast enough. I did most of my 25 min run this evening at 8kph, which would mean a 40min 5k. I tried running faster - kept stepping up the last five minutes until I was up to 8.8kph - and my legs feel like jelly. Even with the 10minutes walking, it was just 4.2k.

I'M NOT READY Confused

stilllearnin · 14/10/2014 20:39

Science! A 40 min 5 k is ok though I'd have thought - particularly as a starting point. You don't get a lot of practice at running for longer sessions on the program if you think about it. The longer stretches start at the end of week 6 so you get 3 weeks' practice before the program ends. You will get faster and sort you pace out when you have more practice after c25k. Unless there is a reason you need to run 5k in the next two weeks?

EdwiniasRevenge · 14/10/2014 20:46

I did 5.1km earlier in the week. That was for the whole session including the walk at start and end. Took me 48mins.

My run section is done at about 9min per km - which would mean running the full 5km will take me about 45mins.

ScienceRocks · 14/10/2014 21:25

Stilllearnin, no, I don't have a particular need to run 5k in 30mins in the next two weeks but I am an absolute completed finisher so feel I have to do it! Edwinia, that's reassuring, maybe I'm freaking out unnecessarily.

I think it is because DH keeps telling me how he runs at 10kph on the treadmill Hmm I keep telling him it is because he is 6ft2in and I am 5ft4in, but it is bothering me.

spookyskeleton · 14/10/2014 21:53

A 40 minute 5k is perfectly reasonable Smile my usual pace is 35 minutes.

Something I picked up from another forum is that for every pound of weight that you are carrying, it adds 3 seconds per mile to your speed so to actually run faster, you need to lose weight. Makes sense if you think about it and made me realise that I probably won't get much faster without my weight changing Smile

WastingMyYoungYears · 14/10/2014 22:10

Cru, I got it in a lovely minty green colour with grey trim - I love it Smile. Do you use yours a lot? Or only when it's raining?

CruCru · 14/10/2014 22:22

At the moment, I only use it when it is raining but this might change when it gets colder.

Yay! Well done lovetoski.

Love to ski - I think you're running and so I would say you're a runner!!! It sounds like you're hitting your stride Smile

Imflabulous · 15/10/2014 07:12

Hello, I hope you dont mind me joining? Im starting c25? today (for the 5th time!)
im setting a goal this time tho and signing up for the great winter run 5? in Edinburgh in January, has anyone done it?

crappyday · 15/10/2014 15:20

Managed w1d2 today. Legs hurt a lot now, but felt ok at the time.

MySpideySenseTickles · 15/10/2014 15:28

Treadmill is really stiff to walk on, I got through the warmup walk and half of run one, I think it takes getting used to and also spending all morning swimmin with Ds has sapped my energy, going to do a long walk and occasional jog on it to try getting used to it.
Disappointed but I suppose I'll get used to it eventually

MySpideySenseTickles · 15/10/2014 15:55

Ok, free treadmill needs maintenance, 20mins walking and a little jog and my knee is killing, going to have to look into lubricant or something.

Imflabulous · 15/10/2014 20:48

Is anyone just started c25? or is anyone lurking but planning on starting? I bombed out of first run Blush but im all geared up for tomorrow.

stilllearnin · 15/10/2014 22:12

Getting started is hard but tomorrow you'll crack it flabulous! Let us know how you get on

MySpideySenseTickles · 15/10/2014 23:32

Flabulous it took me three try's to do w1r1 I'm only on week2 but am surprised how far I've come already. Try again and believe you can do it.

Iggi999 · 16/10/2014 00:25

Did 5k today, including the 5 WU and CD minutes and a run of 35 mins.
One day I will feel ok to try a park run! Off to google great Edinburgh run...

Imflabulous · 16/10/2014 05:40

Well I managed to talk myself into starting on sunday....until I read this thread. So you have talked me into it.....I shall report back later.

Iggi999 · 16/10/2014 09:00

Yes yes, start today and you can have two runs under your belt by Sunday Smile I did run 1 and thought I was an idiot for trying, was convinced I couldn't do it. But I did, and can now run 5k (albeit slowly!) can run for about 35 mins without a break, feel fitter, happier, and have looser clothes. So stick through the first runs if at all possible!

Iggi999 · 16/10/2014 09:01

Imfabulous, what went wrong before, if you don't mind me asking?
