Okay, it's not just 30 Day Shred anymore but if you would like to log your daily JM fix and get some tips and tricks from fellow Shredders, step this way.

Macnab L3 sounds TERRIFYING!

Itsfab · 23/07/2014 19:40

I am going to Grin at those comments as the kids have already made me Sad and Angry today and I need a Smile.

Fuckalella · 23/07/2014 20:11

Hi everyone, you're all doing really well!

After falling off the wagon on hols (drank close to my entire body weight in pink wine Blush ) I'm back on it today. Did take the DVD &weights with me but only managed 2 days (1 each of level 1 & 2). I'm on day 3 of L2 shred now, was a struggle but have put the pound and an inch back on so it needs to go!

Spotsondots · 23/07/2014 22:24

L1D3 done. Today was harder and easier at the same time. Harder cos I am achy but easier cos I am getting used to it a bit. May have to mute dear old JM soon though, she's starting to grate...

Spotsondots · 23/07/2014 22:25

Ooh, pink wine...mmm! We never have pink wine cos DH doesn't like it but it's the perfect summer tipple I think...

ShadowsShadowsEverywhere · 23/07/2014 22:49

30DSL3D5 done. That felt good today.

macnab · 23/07/2014 22:51

Did day 3 of Level 3 this evening. Is there a point where this level gets easier?! Still struggling and I want to go back to level 1 level 2 but will carry on in the hope that I'll suddenly get the hang of superman or the stupid rock star jumps

I like pink wine but I love gin & tonic and the hotel we'regoing to has a gin & tonic menu I worryingly excited about the the prospect of choosing my gin!!

Spotsondots · 23/07/2014 22:58

OMG a gin and tonic menu?! I must visit this place. G&T is my downfall absolute favourite!

OwlCapone · 23/07/2014 23:12

30DS L3D2. Soooo hot! And not in a good way :o

I do like this level as I feel the moves are something I could eventually, achieve. Except the rockstar jumps.

Chococroc · 24/07/2014 07:43

30 DS L2 Day7 done this morning, getting excited by the prospect of finishing the 30 days soon!

yadahyadah · 24/07/2014 08:48

BR phase 1 week 4 workout 3. Too hot for cardio and the back of one of my knees is swollen and a bit sore. Bakers cyst apparently. Any advice?

shadows maybe put a diastisis thread in exercise to start with. I think it is the kind of thing that will quickly be earmarked by loads of people. In fact, please start one. Because having been told my diastisis was only 2 fingers and I got it down to a finger within a few months, I now think I did not do a good enough job of it and need to revisit the whole theory. And that is something I simply would not have thought of had it not been for your posts on the issue. Looked up MUTU yesterday. Any good?

yadahyadah I had a bakers cyst for a while. Got some gel stuff from the gp and it went away. Came back again two other times. Doc said that I'd have to have it removed if it came back again but so far it hasn't and that was about 6 years ago. I remember it being a bit sore and looking a bit odd but other than that didn't cause me any huge problems. I wasn't shredding at the time though!! I think rest it up until the lump is down, otherwise you could do some damage.

Yes the gin & tonic menu is intriguing indeed! Who knew there could be so many options? I'm usually more than happy to have a slice of lime and a few ice cubes lobbed in, but apparently there's a whole world of choices we're missing out on - don't worry I intend to research them fully and will report back Grin

ImogenQuy · 24/07/2014 10:33

macnab, if you're in London or ever visit there's a bar called Gin Joint at the Barbican that has about 60 kinds of gin - it's fabulous.

RI30 L3 D4 done, with DS lying on the mat during the ab exercises and getting in front of me when I was trying to do the duck walk. I did do the cardio though, which feels an achievement in this heat. One more day and then I'm on holiday - no JM for eight whole days! Yippeeee. (Pity I then have to come back and face the second half of L3, and move on to L4, but I won't think about that now...)

Congratulations on inch loss itsfab!

Spotsondots · 24/07/2014 10:45

30DSL1D4 complete. Going out tonight so had to utilise nap time. DS helpfully woke up before I'd finished so now I am hot and sweaty with a grumpy 11 month old who really needs about an hour more sleep than he's had... Hmm

Itsfab · 24/07/2014 15:45

Just done day 8 of level one.

Why do I start yawning when doing it and when do I move on to level 2?

When can I expect to see any weight off? I like my stomach looks less pregnant but I want the scales to be less too.

Still shocked at 4cm off.

OwlCapone · 24/07/2014 16:47

Yawning brings in more air I think.

I think 10 days per level is standard, but if you find L1 easy then move on. Or, if you're still struggling with it, stay there a few days longer.

OwlCapone · 24/07/2014 16:48

Don't know about weight - muscle is heavier than fat I think so it might take a while.

Itsfab · 24/07/2014 17:09

I still can't do proper press ups but I managed the tail lift a bit better today so I think I will do the full 10 days and then see how scary level 2 is.

ShadowsShadowsEverywhere · 24/07/2014 17:26

I stupidly stayed up til 3am last night reading. I am v grumpy, craving carbs and lethargic as a dead rat. I want to order a takeaway but I'm child free at the weekend which probably means 4 meals out so I really shouldn't. Me and DCs are supposed to be camping in the garden tonight as well as making pizzas. I just want to eat crap food and sleep.
And I was SURE today was Friday. Absolutely positive. I get paid on a Friday and have new furniture coming so was gutted when I realised it was Thursday.

Right, I've downed a coffee and am going to stick to the plan. There's no point doing this shred if I'm going to eat crap to reverse any effect it's had! I think some weight is finally coming off. I think it's taken a while as it's that last pesky half stone that's always so hard to shift. Plus google reckons there's 1350 calories in the average Indian takeaway for one. That's pretty much my daily allowance all in one go! I will try and shred later, providing the DCs actually go to sleep before midnight if in a tent in the garden!

I think we all deserve huge kudos for keeping at it in this heat. At least that's the advantage with doing it in the evening, when it's cooler. Congrats ItsFab on the cms lost!

Itsfab · 24/07/2014 17:29

3lbs of anything is the same as 3lbs of anything. I think muscle us just a different compound so people think it weighs more.

Itsfab · 24/07/2014 17:32

Hang in there Shadows.

ImogenQuy · 24/07/2014 18:00

Muscle is denser than fat, isn't it? So obviously 3lbs of muscle weighs the same as 3lbs of fat, but the fat takes up more space (or, looked at another way, if you have the same volume of muscle and fat, the muscle will weigh more). That's what I'm telling myself, anyway.

Itsfab · 24/07/2014 18:43

That is what I meant. Fat takes up more space but weight is weight.

ShadowsShadowsEverywhere · 24/07/2014 19:52

I don't think today could get much worse. All day DD has been SO excited about camping in the garden tonight, she's been putting blankets and books and torches out there all day, making up midnight snack boxes etc. a few mins ago, just as we were starting to snuggle down in there with ice cream and the Gruffalo next door came into their garden. They have loud music, have started a BBQ and their dog is howling along to music. I said hello and said what we were doing, asked if they'd be able to turn music down a bit in an hour when I'd be trying to settle kids. "Sorry we can't do that" was the reply. So I've had to bring DCs in as it's too loud to read the stories and DD is sobbing. Which has made me cry. ARGHHHHHH!

OwlCapone · 24/07/2014 19:57

That's what I meant by it being heavier :)

Sorry, I thought that was obvious. Never mind. I was trying to be helpful.
