1233.25 + 8.15 = 1241.40

Great fun, but very hot!

originalpiratematerial · 20/06/2014 21:18

Well done OhOne!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 20/06/2014 21:45

feet - just stumbled across this plan in case it is any good to you.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 20/06/2014 22:47

Oh and I saw Iva Barr at my race tonight

SeymoreButts · 21/06/2014 03:44

I managed 8km yesterday (in 43 mins!), my longest run ever!! So that brings us to 1249.40

I ran on Sunday and then couldn't run again until Friday because DH was away and then when he got back I came down with my 3rd cold in a row (now sporting a delightful cold sore) but I wonder if the break is why I managed to add another 1km on to my longest distance?

I keep getting a stitch at around 6km, does anyone know what causes them? DH has been running for much longer than I have and said it's just lack of fitness?

SeymoreButts · 21/06/2014 03:46

Good luck OhOneOhTwoOhThree I am in awe...

Fishandjam · 21/06/2014 12:11

1254.4 with today's parkrun. I thought I'd give a proper warm-up a bash, rather than standing around chatting beforehand. So had a km jog prior to starting. And I improved my PB by almost 2 minutes! To 31:53. My gob has never been so smacked. (Felt like throwing up when I crossed the finish though!)

vladthedisorganised · 21/06/2014 14:08

Checking in with 17.3k this morning; managed in 1h 40 I think. Since this included getting lost twice, I'm happy! 1271.7 then? Dd is haranguing me, legs sore and I'm tired so maths crap!

standingonlego · 21/06/2014 14:15

fishandjam that is brilliant! Vlad that is a LONG way....

Just adding my parkrun 5k to take us to 1276.7

ThursdayLast · 21/06/2014 14:40

Well done fish! Love a good gobsmacker!
And well done vlad on a tremendous distance!
And everyone else, sorry for being such a lazy poster Grin

Checking in with my parkrun. 5k in 28.22 so my maths makes in 1281.7

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/06/2014 14:57

Another 13k to add from me - 1294.7

Half way....

Fishandjam · 21/06/2014 18:22

ohone, you are bonkers! Good luck for the second half.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/06/2014 18:35

Well done fishandjam! That's fab!

Need to think about a new thread title Sirzy, getting close to the end :)

Well done OhOneOhTwoOhThree, how you feeling?

6k from me, parkrun plus running to and from makes total 1300.7.

karatekimmi · 21/06/2014 19:04

8Km from me run to and around parkrun 1308.7 in total.

Sounds like some good runs!! whichever idiot person is doing the potato run is very brave!!

I like the idea of a marathon in 3 parts, but I bet your knackered now!! 010203 ice baths.

I'm doing a half marathon in September and I am really struggling to fit in long runs! I might need to do it mid week instead of failing to do it at the weekend.

morigu I know what you mean about stressing to fit runs in. I get a babysitter 2 to 3 nights a week so I can go to my club runs, and it is the best money I spend, it means my runs have consistency.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/06/2014 20:29
Grin

I am quite tired...and my calves hurt...and my ankles...

The hardest thing about this marathon challenge has been that most of it has been cross country/through woods/off road. So the distance is one challenge, but the terrain is all quite new to me and I've found it hard to get into much of a rhythm. Today was very overgrown, single track and deep ruts off the track and I stopped to walk a few times as it was just impossible to run. Although at one point I did find my groove and someone coming in the opposite direction told me I looked as fresh as a daisy Grin. The field was only a couple of hundred, mostly serious club runners, but all super-encouraging to we back markers Smile

SeymoreButts · 22/06/2014 05:08

Yes!!! First ever 10km, 53mins 40. So happy with that. 1318.7

Fishandjam · 22/06/2014 06:49

I should just jolly well think you are seymore! Well done!!

emummy · 22/06/2014 06:50

Well done Seymore! Was that this morning?! Running my first 10k race in race for life this morning, don't think I'll be that fast! Good luck to all racers today. And well done ohone, very impressive! Can you walk today?!

Sirzy · 22/06/2014 06:51

enummy, I have a race for life 10k today too. Feeling very unprepared but as long as I am faster than last time I will be happy

Good luck sirzy!
Well done seymore, that's a great time!
I know what you mean about running on trails and not getting into a rhythm OhOne. It can be really frustrating, but I always try it remember that it's oing me good in a different way. Strength especially, balance and simply mixing it up.
Have fun at the Colour Run Cardiff. A friend and I are doing a local variation next week! can't wait Grin

SeymoreButts · 22/06/2014 07:49

Thanks! Grin 7-10km was tough, my hips were hurting and I was breathing quite hard. Hopefully it will get easier. emummy I'm in Sydney so was the afternoon. It's midwinter now and I'm finding I can run much further now it's not so stinking hot! Good luck with the race for life, you too sirzy!

originalpiratematerial · 22/06/2014 08:19

I'm feeling all wistful this morning because it's the inaugural Hackney HM and I'm not doing it. I ran over Hackney Marshes Friday where it's all set up and it looked fantastic. Otoh it's going to be a real hot day, it was a hot night last night and I haven't slept well at all and I know I'd really really struggle. So I guess it's all for the best. Maybe next year, if I've managed to do a HM in the autumn/winter, I'll be up for it. In the meantime I have the Race for Life 10k next Saturday.

Very best of luck Sirzy for yours!

originalpiratematerial · 22/06/2014 08:20

Seymore that's terrific!
