It sounds like a great idea! I'm afraid I'm no use on how you'd go about actually organising though.

karatekimmi · 18/06/2014 22:21

Well all this kit talk has made me very envious!! I LOVE my decathlon £7 capri pants and have half a dozen pairs can only ever find one pair though but need some vests to sort my tan out!! DH

an impressive 10.5K from me on a Wednesday night although I cant see the previous total. (I'll try and find it tomorrow but I'm off to bed now)

feetheart · 18/06/2014 22:22

Lego - to start with could they get into the Colour 5k on Satrurday as that is in Northampton?
I don't fit the demographic (old fogey :)) but I'm already on the register. Brilliant charity and would be great to link it in to something like parkrun.

standingonlego · 18/06/2014 22:53

feetheart excellent idea :) I am finding out a bit more on what needed to run a little event rather than via post so will hopefully be able to think it through a bit more tomorrow. I am not doing colour run at moment as tied down with other family committments at weekend!

feetheart · 19/06/2014 06:55

Gentle 3.6k from me this morning. Still taking it easy after sore shins from Zoo Stampede but nothing aches now so going to take it slowly and get back into it. Lovely bright sunny morning for it, blew a few cobwebs away.

Kristina - do you have a link to the plan you did for your HM. I am intending to do our local one at the end of Oct and would like to have a go at training properly.
Also if anyone else has a plan that worked for them I'd love to see it, baring in mind that I can probably only do 3 runs a week so no mad '2 runs a day' stuff please :)

feetheart · 19/06/2014 06:57

1163.1 with karatekimmi's and mine

HalleLouja · 19/06/2014 09:01

I have 5k to add from Tuesday so that is 1168.1 km.

Might try and fit in a run round the football later. I feel like I should watch at least one England game.

TessTackle · 19/06/2014 11:58

7.88 from this morning bringing us to 1175.98

Doing week 3 of c25k again and it's exhausting in this heat!
Still going to push on with week 4 on Monday.

Been absolutely shit with eating well and can see how it affects my running so it stops now.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/06/2014 12:32

feetheart I have a Runners World HM plan, but I don't think you can attach things to PMs. If you want to PM me your email address I can send it to you (but will understand if you don't want to!)

cinnamongreyhound · 19/06/2014 12:51

I have a cold and feel out with dh last night so had a late one and didn't feel like running this morning. I'm babysitting tonight and tomorrow so no evening run so it will have to be tomorrow morning or not at all but I won't be home until almost midnight :(

Morrigu · 19/06/2014 14:24

Grin Could well be pirate, my mum and sis are the same.

I hear you Tess. The last week my eating has been totally crap (bought a multi-pack of boost cake bars yesterday and had all five ate by 7 o'clock Blush) Coming up to that time though and I've always noticed my sugar intake goes sky high just before. Made myself eat some yogurts with seeds chucked in earlier rather than the toffee crisp that was calling me.

Was meant to go for a run yesterday but my shins were sore from my long run the day before. Not bad but the odd pain so decided to skip it. Don't want to be tempting shin splints at this stage of the game. Am going to attempt a run later in a field close to me - and I have to take the two kids and the dog. This should be fun Hmm If I manage to get any running done I'll be amazed.

What about talking to your local football and rugby clubs standingonlego? Just thinking that our local rugby club hosts a pretty big competition weekend and would be about the right demographic. The owners of the clubs are usually pretty well known and respected throughout the community so even if they can't help you, they may know someone who can.

TessTackle · 19/06/2014 14:36

Oh cinnamon hope you're better and make up soon.

Morrigu I've had fruit and fibre, coffee , chicken breast and grapes today. Planning soup for dinner with white bloomer I don't have periods but do have the Mirena so I. Shall blame that!

vladthedisorganised · 19/06/2014 14:44

No running for the last couple of days - not for the lack of trying, mind you, but hard to fit in around work and DH's work being crazy too. I've put my foot down about getting a long run in come hell or high water on Saturday. I can't wait for DD to be old enough to join me even for a short run, it would make all the difference.

Nutrition is a strange thing for me - my best runs have been fuelled by Smarties and jelly snakes (especially the long ones), when I have raisins, seeds and healthy things beforehand it doesn't seem to have the same effect. That said, eating healthily in general does help, but I need to hide the Smarties from DD (bad mother)

That's a great idea about the rugby clubs Morrigu- my only other thought was the local paper if there is one?

emummy · 19/06/2014 14:51

A gentle 3.4 from me this morning, so 1179.38
No more runs planned now before Sunday's race for life, hoping the weather is ok; the last time I did it in Aberdeen it was freezing!

postmanpatscat · 19/06/2014 19:18

6.52k from me, it's windy out there!

Now 1185.9km

TessTackle · 19/06/2014 19:29

Damn you vlad now I want a purple jelly snake.

Going out for the last day of c25k week 3 tomorrow, really looking forward to it!

feetheart · 19/06/2014 19:30

Looking forward to it Tess...I think the bug might be biting :)

TessTackle · 19/06/2014 19:57

Got bitten in Marchfeet then had a shit couple weeks and fell out of love with it. I'm back at it with a vengeance though, bridesmaid duty in 18 weeks and counting!

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 19/06/2014 20:13

A very short 2.7km from me tonight. Just wasn't feeling it so went home fr a fish finger sandwich Grin.

That's 1188.6 up to now then.

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 19/06/2014 20:14

*for

Morrigu · 19/06/2014 20:34

Pah a pathetic 1.9 to add. One dog and two kids did not work out obviously. Came home stressed out, fed up and munched my way through a choc ice, two toffee crisps and a mini roll. Not really much point adding but there you go 1190.5

Beginning to regret signing up for this hm in Sept. Not that I don't think I'll be able to do the distance but trying to find the time for training between childcare is stressing me out big time :(

postmanpatscat · 19/06/2014 21:00

morrigu it's tough with little ones. Good job mine are older because running before DP leaves for work at 5.45 is just not an option! There are some advantages to teenagers.

BetsyBell · 19/06/2014 21:07

Hello, a bit of a hiatus from me but had an excellent 30min 5k run this evening. Now eating an avocado and anchovy sandwich - not a combo I'd considered before but is really good.

BetsyBell · 19/06/2014 21:07

So that's 1195.5

KristinaM · 19/06/2014 21:21

Feet -I did the second one on this page. But I'm it's got 4 or 5 runs a week , not three .

In second half of the plan i substituted a speed session for one of the shorter runs as I'd been doing long slow distance for a few months before I started the plan
