Can anyone point me in the direction of Tesss thread please?

Just checking into the new thread with a 5 mile on road/in woods/with dog/sprints at the end all rounder. The forecast was cooler for today, but that turned out to be bollocks. Poor Reluctodog nearly passed out I think!

I forgot to say well done to mellie yesterday (rude), and hello contortionist and dot!

tess I hope that your DD is getting better, I will look for your other thread after this.

There were some really good run runs this weekend, well done everyone! Especially sirzy and welcome contortionist and dot

I enjoyed watching the BUPA Great Manchester run on TV, especially Bekele taking on Kipsang. They did their first Km in 3:04 mins!!!! I couldn't believe that they sailed through that 10 kms faster than I can do a 5km Grin

I am also surprised how much I enjoyed watching the race, a few years ago I would have been bored stiff but this time I loved it all.

I had a very lazy weekend of no running, lots of food & lots of family time. I feel very bad for not exercising since Friday (And can't run today either) so am having one of those 'I-will-forget-how-to-run' wobbles. Can't wait until I can get out there tomorrow!

I am also going to put some more focus on what I eat, I got a fright trying on some of my summer dresses over the weekend. They were quite....er....snug!

Hi, just marking place!

Ran 5km last night but it was a forced run and I felt very sluggish.

Garmin is on my birthday list too!

Hugs Tesss hope your DD is okay x

Hello again everyone!

Haven't done any running- my runner friend who is helping me train has forbidden it till Wednesday Sad

Well done Theonly 5k is 5k sluggish or not!

Mum is giving me money towards a Garmin for my birthday in June- looks like lots of us are getting some shiny new kit Grin

Tess Can't find your other thread but glad your DD is in good spirits.

Sirzy Womens' Running have 10ks going on all over the shop this year if you can't find a race for life. I have signed up for Glasgow in September.

Thought I'd mark my place by posting this that I've just seen on the parkrun Facebook page and had to share...

"parkrun, always one word and lowercase
Please help us by telling your friends"

Anyone hoping for a Garmin could do some online surveys to earn some towards it. I do them regularly and have earned enough for around 80 worth of Amazon vouchers since February!

Theonly your run brings us up to 849.3 miles

I'm resting my post-half-marathon legs so won't be bumping up the total tonight. Will run tomorrow, if I haven't eaten too much in the afternoon (but attending a wake, which is probably a bit of an appetite-killer anyway).

I often think that but never post blatherkite always seems a bit pedantic to me but perhaps I'm not enough of a hardcore parkrunner Wink. If you become admin on the fb page of the parkrun you rd at its on of the rules that get sent out!

Governors meeting for me tonight so no running :( will probably go in the morning :)

DotToDott · 19/05/2014 16:35

postmanpatscat would you mind if i ask where you've been doing your surveys?

My mum has offered to put money towards my Garmin but if i could get some vouchers to supplement the rest that would be great.

Blatherskite · 19/05/2014 16:47

I often think it but have never dared post it before cinnamon. They did say share with my friends though Grin

I am an admin for my parkrun but no-one sent me any rules! Luckily, I'd already had the all-one-word-no-capitals rule beaten into me by then Wink

4.7 miles in glorious sunshine today. With some planks, crunches, squats and lunges thrown in. And I've just mown the lawn. Need a lie down now.

So the total is now 856.7

Hello everyone! Hello shiny new thread!

Well done to all the weekend race runners.

I only managed 1.7 miles this evening so the new total is 858.4. I didn't intend to go far because I was only going to test out my new running shoes!! Grin I had a gait analysis and a scan of my foot taken. It turns out I overpronate a tiny bit so I have slightly supportive shoe. I chose some Asics GT-1000s in pink and black. It also turns out I should have stopped running in my old shoes about a year ago as all the cushioning was worn out and buggered!

Soooo humid out there this evening, a bit like running through soup!

I regularly break those rules about parkrun, will need to remember in future.

My leg feels much better so am starting to run properly again, did 7k on Thursday and Saturday morning. (14k in total - 8 miles?)

I am so impressed with those of you who ran the Manchester run on Sunday, that must have been so hot and uncomfortable. I am running on June 15th and really hoping it is not as hot. I am not sure I could manage 10k in the heat of the morning.

I have been lurking so well done to everyone for such fantastic mileage.

Hoping to do parkrun on Saturday for the first time in what seems like ages, then off to Lowestoft for some seaside fun!

Here you all are!

I dropped off the radar in the nice weather then couldn't find you in threads I'm on as the old thread had filled up a.

Sorry if I miss anyone - well done Sirzy and Meli on Manchester, I mean it from the bottom of my heart when I say rather you than me in that heat Grin You both did really bloody well!

And did I read on the other thread that flutiecat is back? That's brilliant news!

Welcome dottodott.

Hope everyone has enjoyed the sunshine, I'm planning to run in the morning so hoping it's cooled off a bit, aiming for 5 miles.

Haven't posted for a while. But struggling to run in heat but can only get out in daytime at the moment.

Also thought I couldn't make hit class tonight but got a babysitter and am now shattered.

For some reason I am considering doing a triathlon next year. A mini one. That or a half marathon. ... Decisions.

3.3 miles just about makes 864 miles.

Morning runners!!! Back from a 4 mile run with company for a change on a Tuesday which was nice but a bit slower and shorter than I'd hoped. Total now 868! It's not that cool even this early, big doggy struggled towards the end.

My friend is doing this one on Sunday HalleLouje, she's quite mad Wink
