Will sports direct do kids shoes vlad?

Report
Morrigu · 24/06/2014 18:19

Aw thanks you two. Yes vlad I'm feeling so much calmer about the half marathon now. Even if I can't get the time I really want to train, I'll be happy enough if I can just maintain current level of fitness. I don't have a clue about trainers for that age. Just had a quick nosey at a sports shop online, £60 for a pair of kids shoes!

Well done Tess - that's brilliant!

Morrigu -wowee! that's definitely worthy of a fist pump (I'd high-five you in RL)! It's a fantastic distance and you should be really proud! See, the HM will be no bother after that, eh? ;)

Seymour - you can do it! Jelly snakes all the way :)

I managed 8.3k in 50 minutes this lunchtime - I really should have worn shorts instead of running tights as I felt like my legs were on fire for most of it. It was incredibly hot, no shade and uphill most of the way - time to buy more shorts I think.

I've persuaded DD to do a colour run with me next year - they look so much fun. Has anyone any ideas/experience of trainers for small people? I don't think Mizuno cater for four year olds (and I don't think I could spend 80 on something she'd grow out of in three weeks anyway).

Anyway, 1503.66 it is..

Morrigu that is incredible! I would cry if I did that distance!!! You should have fist pumped Grin

Well done tess, you definitely deserve some new running gear.

You'll be able to manage that no problem Seymore, have faith!

After saying I was going to take it easy this week, I didn't. Just in from doing 17.35. Had a little tear in my eye and felt like fist pumping the air once I'd finished. Never could have imagined at the start of Feb when I felt like dying after running one minute I would ever be able to run nearly 11 miles. Teeny bit proud of myself and a little bit emotional(blame hormones) Grin

Well done tess!

Just signed up to a 14km on 10th August. I'm scared because I can only just manage 10km. My friend is a PT and thinks I can do it but apparently I need to focus on shorter faster runs and sprints

Hello runners
Rest day eat day for me today, but I thought I'd let you know I signed up for a 10k in August Smile. It's at a local National Trust garden (different to parkrun though) in the evening. I'm really looking forward to it, I think 10k is probably my favourite kind of distance.

sirzy I'm glad your mini is feeling better.

No run from me today, did gym workout with personal trainer though. Running tomorrow I hope although right calf/shin is a bit dodgy and I am wearing compression sleeve at the moment!

SoftKitty - great stuff! I've also signed up to do something - a half marathon at the end of August. I was so bloody gutted really not to be doing Run Hackney yesterday that I signed up for this one last night!

Taking karatekimmi's advice I've looked at the results from last time this HM was on and there were several people who finished around the 2.5 hour mark, which is about where I think I would be. It looks like quite a small event. Six laps of Hackney Marshes, which is where I run all the time - could get a bit monotonous so I need a good playlist. PT says he might enter and run it with me, which would be nice.

A very hot & slow 5.6 km lunchtime run for me today...had a real running-through-treacle time but better than nothing.

Total is 1456.3 km

A lovely 6.4km doggy run for me, we had massive storm an hour before we went so there were puddles everywhere! I was soaked but had fun and now have nettle stings and mossie bites as well as wrinkly toes :)
