Are you shredding, ripped? Do you want killer buns and thighs?! Join us here for everything Jillian and we can support each other through!

Just a quick one - NMTZ. Gawd, tis hard on the shoulders.

What is SIWW?

Appliedapple · 27/08/2014 14:23

Go Errol and Rooner! (I don't know what SIWW is either...)

Did 30ds l2 d5 this morning. Still achey but did it anyway. Maybe I just need to be less precious about it?

Date was a bit meh. Oh well. At least I still have Jillian Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 27/08/2014 17:04

Shred It With Weights - JMs latest offering, I think.

My triceps are are really hurting today, the first strength set is getting to parts I evidently don't use much. I'll have to remember to do something with them during breaks in future.

Roonerspism · 27/08/2014 22:28

Shred it with weights? Isn't that what happens in the other Shreds?! Hmm

Shattered tonight. 1km swim at lunchtime - first for a while zzzzz

knottyhair · 28/08/2014 06:21

Sorry the date wasn't better Applied. SIWW is with kettlebells. I know that someone on here (sorry, I can't remember who!) had to stop doing kettlebells because they aggravated a back problem? I like it though!
Did a Kickboxing FF 2 yesterday as I was very short of time. Slept in a bit this morning, so will have to see if I can fit something in once DP is awake - planning to do BFBM but only once through each circuit as DS's maths tutor is coming early today and I really don't want to be a sweaty blob in workout gear when he arrives! We're away then Fri-Sun so I won't be doing anything until Monday.

IdkickJilliansAss · 28/08/2014 08:26

That was me Knotty but I think Stunt said it's not good as KB workouts go anyway, you can have my copy Errol! I couldn't settle to anything yesterday so did RI30 L1 with my 5kgs

Appliedapple · 29/08/2014 12:28

30ds l2 d6 this morning. I'm finding that as I'm getting better at it, it gets harder - so I'm doing all the plank bits properly now, and feeling totally done in by the end. Still not doing most of the plyometric stuff, though, but I think it's better to focus on good form than flailing about all over the place.

Kettlebells for me in several years' time I think...!

IdkickJilliansass · 29/08/2014 15:54

I think you are exactly right Applied, when I first started shredding I bought a few more JM dvd's including extreme shed and tried to move straight to L2 couldn't do it properly and then just assumed I hated the workout and it was rubbish but I've revisited them recently and now love the extreme shed I just wasn't ready then. You'll be getting more out the exercises done with proper form for sure Smile

I have to say I've enjoyed my return to 30DSL1 - think I'll do L2 next week.

I hadn't realised SIWW was kettlebells - I thought it would be a more weight-intense dumbell routine. Shouldn't it be called Shred it with Kettlebells then? Confused I feel like I'd like to try something with less reps, bigger weight.

buffersandbumpers · 31/08/2014 20:49

Anyone starting 30DS tomorrow? Last did it in June. Want to commit to it. Would love to have some support to keep me going.
Will do one level each for 10 days.
At least that's the planSmile

notyummy · 31/08/2014 20:57

Am back! Holiday included ES and S, 6W6P, BFBM, Bobs Yoga and Pilates. Plus 5 ten KM runs. Was pleased to get back to some weights today- NMTZ as an intro before I hit Bob on Tuesday :-). Knotty- you are bang on re Bob. It's the amount of moves he does that wears you down. I do find the scorpion push ups and the mountain climbers into push ups are my personal low points on his cardio conditioning.

IdkickJilliansass · 31/08/2014 21:07

Martial Arts and BFBM done today

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 01/09/2014 13:08

Back from holiday and just catching up with the thread! Well done notyummy and others who kept up the exercise on holiday. I managed T25 workouts x8 in 2 weeks away, plus 3x 25-30 min swims. Not bad, but still put on a couple of lbs due to food and wine! Blush

Have signed up to an Insanity class starting next week, gulp!

idkick, sounds like you are really going for it!

Rooner, agree re NMTZ and shoulders. Circuit 1 is horrible!

ErrolTheDragon · 01/09/2014 13:18

buffers - hi! There's a new September shred thread , which is probably where a lot of people starting shred will check in. Smile 10 days on each level works for most people - I do each weekday morning and then have the weekend for rest days (though usually do a 'real' activity on one of them).

ErrolTheDragon · 01/09/2014 13:20

Anyway, I did shred L2 today - pleased I can really do the squat thrusts properly now, wouldn't have believed it possible this time last year!

Jacksterbear · 01/09/2014 15:44

Nice one Errol. I love it when you have moments of realisation like that, of how far you've come! Smile

IdkickJilliansass · 01/09/2014 21:29

Hiya Jackster Nice holiday? I'd did the quick 25 minute Bob Harper cardio conditioning this am as I started a new job today after nearly 2 years at home Smile I really like Insanity, how long are your classes? I'm going to 'Zumbasanity' tomorrow which is an hours Zumba followed by Insanity but that is 30 minutes thankfully or I dont think I'd make it.

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 03/09/2014 11:58

Good holiday thanks idkick. Insanity classes are 50 mins (which I think is the same as the DVD version, not that I've done it).

L1 Shred done today. Was feeling a bit demoralised at still finding it really hard after 3 years... But then remembered that 3 years ago I was using 1kg weights and doing modified push-ups; now using 3kgs and full push-ups, so definitely some progress! Grin

Jacksterbear · 03/09/2014 11:59

Ps hope new job is going well idkick. Do you have a plan for still being able to fit in exercise?

knottyhair · 04/09/2014 06:01

I'dkick, congrats on the new job! How did it go? Jackster, that is definite progress. I still find L1 Shred hard, but like you, I've upped the weights, but I still can't manage a full set of proper push-ups.

I did BFBM once through but with weights on Monday but nothing since then. Have had the AF from hell and woke up Tues with awful cramps, but then got a tummy bug in the afternoon which kept me up most of Tues night. Feeling better but not quite 100% this morning so hoping to be back to it tomorrow.

Jacksterbear · 04/09/2014 07:13

Urghhj knotty. Hope you're better soon!

notyummy · 04/09/2014 09:04

Hope you feel better soon knotty- not as bad as you but I am fighting off some sort of lurgy. Sore throat/aches/tiredness. Dd has symptoms too but have dosed her with ibuprofen and vit c and sent Into school for first day back as she is eating ok and has no temp. As a result I did bobs yoga yesterday rather than the more hardcore Bobs Workout that I had planned! Did his Pure strength on Tuesday though, which was hard work after not much weights stuff over the past couple of weeks. Cross trainer on Monday. Day off today as busy day at work. I also managed 3/4 runs whilst in Italy and was delighted that my back held up and that my hard work at other exercise stuff has obviously maintained my cardio fitness well. I set off for a 'gentle jog' without any expectations as I haven't run for 18 months....and ended up doing a 10k in 52 minutes (including hills) and feeling great. Am going to try and fit in a run at least once a week but don't want to overdo it because of my back.

Hope new job goes ok idkick. May mean scaling back exercise slightly in my experience but you really make the most of the time you have. Am well jel of your classes. Having a DH away 75% of the time means they are not viable for me, but I would love to do at least one a week. Am not a gym member though so cost also a factor.

IdkickJilliansass · 04/09/2014 10:07

New job going well thanks guys, I exercise in the evenings now. I'm not a gym member either as too expensive but the classes I go to are drop ins in local halls so that's good. How did insanity go Jackster? Feeling any better Knotty?

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 04/09/2014 18:25

First class is next Monday night idkick - also at local village hall - feeling v nervous!

Treated myself to new exercise kit today in honour of the occasion (the stuff I've been wearing at home to exercise in is pretty scruffy!). Whaddya all think?

Jacksterbear · 04/09/2014 18:36

Ps notyummy glad your back seems to be ok and hope you feel better soon. 52 mins is my PB for 10 k and that was when I was running several times a week - great time for an off-the-cuff run!
