Are you shredding, ripped? Do you want killer buns and thighs?! Join us here for everything Jillian and we can support each other through!

I tried No More Trouble Zones yesterday for the first time. That is one hard work out! I only got 30 minutes into it and I had to stop. I'm glad I stopped now because I've been walking like John Wayne all day. OIt obviously works though! As soon as my aching thighs and bum have healed I will try again.

Has anyone made it all the way through and could you move anything except your eyelids the day after?

IdkickJilliansAss · 17/08/2014 20:05

I love NMTZ! It gets easier the more you do it but it is always best to stop when you think you have reached your limit, I still find circuit 1 (shoulders) really hard, such a weak area for me. Knotty it is odd that the front of ES&S says it is two 45 min work outs when Jillian goes on to say it is two half hour workouts; i've timed it and L1 is 35 mins and L2 is 45 (50 with warm up) it is v hard but i'm sitting on my butt indulging in DD2's birthday cake today!

5kgs? Wow Idkick! Lol at the John Wayne walk, PrivateBenjamin! Definitely means it's working Grin

As for me, well I am back in the saddle for 30ds L2 d2 after a pretty bad weekend (well, bad in a cupcakes and tequila sort of way...). I'm going to do d3 tomorrow as will be away on Wednesday - saying that here to make me stick to it!

IdkickJilliansAss · 18/08/2014 13:20

Cupcakes and tequilla sounds pretty good to me Grin

Nolda, to be honest I'm not sure! It's been a while since I did L1, and I've only done it twice (don't often have the chance to do longer than a 30 min workout). I don't think it was that much harder - it's such a mix of moves, that some are nigh on impossible for me, and some are quite easy. She does a reverse plank at the end and calls it "The Flashdance" and says "and if any of you are that much younger than me that you can't remember this movie.... then I don't like you very much" Grin.
Private, NMTZ is tough definitely! I can manage it all the way through but often do either 3 or 4 circuits and do 2 mins of cardio inbetween each one, or just do each circuit once, which makes it about half an hour.

Did Ripped L2 today - still HATE that plank based cardio circuit Angry.

IdkickJilliansAss · 18/08/2014 21:13

Martial arts for me today

Nolda · 18/08/2014 21:27

Maybe I'll give it a go then Knotty. I'm definitely old enough to remember Flashdance!

IdkickJilliansAss · 19/08/2014 14:53

Shaun T's AB sculpt and total body burn done today. I'm going swimming later to try and improve my breathing for triathlon as swimming is my weakest area Smile

We managed to cycle to the swimming pool last night, training for triathlon and the 'Wolf Run' begins! Smile

Blimey - youse lot are so hard core!

I didn't manage d3 yesterday, so got up super early and did it today - woo hoo! On train feeling smug Grin

Definitely true that accountability makes you stick to new habits - posting here has made me keep it up far longer than ever before!

IdkickJilliansAss · 20/08/2014 14:21

Grin That's excellent Applied

Hello all - back from hols and trying to decide what JM to do next ... think I won't begin again till next week as on friday I've got to get up at about 2am to drive DD and DH to the airport, they're off to Berlin for nearly a week. I'm needing a bit of a rest after my hols... seriously! Windsurfing and sailing in rather a lot of wind .... but all the good work beforehand made it all a lot more enjoyable - I'm much better at righting and getting back into a capsized dinghy than I was last year Grin.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/08/2014 21:59

(I've never seen Flashdance... think it was a bit after my time Grin )

IdkickJilliansAss · 21/08/2014 20:21

ES&S L2 and AB's sculpt done Smile

idkick when is your tri? Top effort - do you think your home DVDs have helped?

Anyone tried yoga inferno level 2. Did a (modified) version tonight and it's ace. Not much trad yoga but a great mix of yoga stretch and strength. Loved it....

IdkickJilliansAss · 22/08/2014 14:11

7th September, eek! Yes for definite, I have built up so much core strength with the dvds still need to run, cycle and swim to build up technique and stamina though. The Yoga sounds fab, i'm still waiting for that boxset so glad to hear it's worth it Grin

Martial arts for me today Smile

Good luck Idkick! Full of admiration for you Smile. One of my friends is doing Tough Mudder in October... looks like hell on earth to me Grin.

I had a day off on Tuesday, Ripped L3 on Weds, KB Fast Fix 1 on Thurs, Ripped 4 yesterday. Going for Killer Buns L1 today I think, day off tomorrow and something longer on Monday, maybe Bob's Pure Strength? Looking forward to trying Yoga Inferno Rooner, haven't cracked that one out yet!

Roonerspism · 23/08/2014 07:12

knotty that is some week!! Very impressive. Tough mudde is horrendous -DH does it every year. I don't fancy it tbh - I have done similar events but the electric shock stuff really puts me off. DH loved it but is a lunatic...

idkick great effort on the tri. How far is the swim? Do you train outdoors for the swim? It's something I hope to try in the future (outdoor swimming -not tris as I have hung up my running shoes for now!)

knottyhair · 23/08/2014 07:53

Rooner, that's what put me off that and the monkey bars, oh and the 12 miles. Good on your DH though! My friend is a fitness instructor so very fit but even she has struggled at times during the training.

Just did Killer 1 - I really struggled with the side plank things where you pulse your lower leg, don't usually, but it really hurt my back so I just stayed in side plank on my elbow instead.

IdkickJilliansAss · 23/08/2014 20:23

The wolf run is similar to the tough mudder but shorter at 10k and more importantly no electrocution Grin

Thanks Knotty I wouldn't have known about Bob Harper if it wasn't for you, all you guys are amazing Smile

I've done hip hop abs and a load of walking today

OP posts:
knottyhair · 25/08/2014 09:31

Did a 5 mile walk yesterday, although with a buggy and a cliff top path and several hills, it felt like more! Went for Bob's Cardio Conditioning this morning - found parts of it very hard going! I don't think his moves are any harder than Jillian's but he just does them again and again, and again.... that coupled with the fact it's an hour long makes it much tougher! But I need to get rid of my spare tyre, my "baby" is now 20 months old!

ErrolTheDragon · 25/08/2014 10:35

So, back to routine 5:2 and JM - after hols and then last week off recovering from them Grin. I had bit of a walk and a nice sail on Saturday and a longish (though flat) walk yesterday. Today I put ES&S on, watched the intro and then chickened out and swapped it for shred L1. Which (apart from pressups) I'm glad to say seemed like a pretty gentle restart (though whether my thighs agree tomorrow remains to be seen) - didn't need to stop at all and only got through half a pint of water. Only slight problem is that something on holiday seems to have strained my thumbs, which sounds a bit daft but they hurt when I tried to use 10lb dumbells for the squat&press, so I stuck to 3kg throughout (and 5lbs for the anterior raises).

Appliedapple · 26/08/2014 07:51

Hello all. I'm completely Shock at tough mudder - electrocution? Cripes! Perhaps one day... I'm plodding along still - should be doing day 5 of level 2 30ds, but am achey all over, so am giving it a rest, at least for this morning. Maybe I'll have loosened up by this afternoon. Plus I have a date(!) tonight, so whilst I'd like to be freshly shredded, I'd also like to be able to move Grin

Went for a run yesterday too, just because I suddenly felt like it. I seem to be turning into a newly sporty version of myself - hurrah!

ErrolTheDragon · 26/08/2014 12:56

shred L1D2 - wow, this time last year I'd have never believed that I could do it (apart from full pressups) reasonably easily without stopping at all! Smile Legs fine too, just a bit of tricep ache for some reason.

Not sure whether to go through shred maybe 5 days at each level or just a couple of days on each level and then something different. Wondering whether to get SIWW - what's the verdict on that?
