Thread 13. We had a debate about whether there should be a new one but if no one answers this the whole series after 8 years plus will come to their end.

Brexit happened, although one time Leavers do not seem to appreciate this.
It's worth noting I think that Brexit was a Tory initiative and the Tory party has just received its worse electoral thrashing since 1832. Could it be entirely unrelated?

What next? A gradual rapprochement with the EU? A Norway style agreement?

Oh dear. AI failing badly again...

Zonder · 19/09/2024 18:14

Goodness, that's a real Brexit bonus @DuncinToffee

LouiseCollins28 · 19/09/2024 19:13

You all have taps at home, right?

LouiseCollins28 · 19/09/2024 19:19

Also, yes it is unquestionably a bonus. This research was conducted by Pesticide Action Network (PAN). The Guardian for some reason does not state this in full. Having had a look at what they want, which is to eliminate pesticide use at the cost of economic competitveness for UK farmers, I'm very sure that anything that upsets PAN can only be good news for the agricultural sector.

I just love washing my bread, biscuits, cakes, oats and coffee Wink

pointythings · 19/09/2024 21:55

Me too, I mean basically it's all just different flavour porridge, isn't it? Who doesn't like the delicious savoury addition of more pesticides?

DuncinToffee · 19/09/2024 22:04

Never mind the bees either 🐝

Talkinpeace · 20/09/2024 13:20

Zonder · 20/09/2024 14:16

I can't even work out how you vote! Is that actually the ballot paper?

Talkinpeace · 20/09/2024 16:32

Yup, that is my actual ballot paper.
I have to fill in the circle above the names I want and then post it to New York.

This one is much saner than the one I had in 2004 !

Hence why Farm Shops are booming - farmers are cutting out the mid stages of the supply chain.

Problem is he never backed Brexit - like most of us poor sods he just has to put up with it's effects.

He should, however mention it to twats like Roger Daltey - who has gone rather quiet these days. Having fucked over a generation or two in the process.

Speaking of the Who, anyone else feel that someone, somewhere must be making a version of "Tommy" called "Trummpy".

"So put on the eyeshades, pop in the earplugs ..
you know where to stick the cork"

It casts itself. You have Epstein as uncle Ernie. Vance as cousin Kevin. And MTG is the acid queen

Peregrina · 25/09/2024 16:55

I have a friend whose son is one such musician (although not in Elton's league), and who voted for Brexit. She has gone rather quiet these days.

Although, had the Tories not been intent on the hardest Brexit possible we might have had an agreement for musicians.

MaybeNotBob · 25/09/2024 17:40

The EU did, indeed, offer a deal on musicians. The Tory government refused, surprise surprise...

Elton John's net worth is estimated at US$500+ million. So, why would he be bothered?

Since Labour have been in power, there has been a 60% increase in boats as per GT broadcast 26 Sep 2024.

Meanwhile, the winter fuel allowance for pensioners is being reduced under means testing.

For all your words, stats and proficient Googling, you really don't have a clue about people do you GlobeTrotter2000 ?
