(previous thread)

That's "king" as a suffix not a prefix. Also part of a phrase.

What have the Orkneys done to deserve him? It's part of the UK anyway (voted to Remain). He is irredeemably stupid!

He also spectacularly misses the whole fucking point that if the UK rejoined the EU, he could fuck off to any one of it's 27 member states.

What a despicable cunt.

We could crowd fund for a wicker man welcome for Lee.

HannibalHeyes · 01/12/2023 14:45

Oh dear. Does this mean that we can legally call the hypocrite James Dyson a hypocrite?

I think we've always been able to legally call him a total cunt. MNHQ know how to reach me if Mr. Dyson so wishes.

Seems a slow backlash is starting against Brexit.

Apparently Brexit helped us avoid a far-right government. WTF?

Larry Elliot is the Guardian's Chief Brexiter. They never ever open up Comments when he writes something - they know he would get an absolute pasting.

HannibalHeyes · 05/12/2023 23:23

It still amazes me that they employ him.

SerendipityJane · 07/12/2023 07:39

The general view on these threads over the past few years has been that the destruction of the Tory party as we know it would be a fair outcome of the rigged Brexit vote.

The old saying about revenge being a dish best served cold has never been so apt.

And the cruellest irony for the cruellest party is that they chose the method of their execution. No one forced them to make Rwanda the single most important political policy of the century. But they did anyway. And now they are well fucked.

I don't think anything would make up for the rigged Brexit vote. The country has been kneecapped. Wages the same as 2008?
I remember an American comparing it with Trump's election and I said that at maximum you've only got Trump for 8 years. Brexit is forever.

Hmmm.

It's clear had Trump won in 2020, he would have continued wrecking the constitution. And it's only an amendment that limits POTUS terms. And we've already seen a shift in US courts attitude to the constitution. If a court can decide that POTUS doesn't really have to uphold the constitution despite it being an essential part of the theater of the absurd that is the inauguration then the US has problems of it's own.

Deporting people to Rwanda is a monstrous policy, but just a small part of me would like to see them get a plane or two in the air. I can guarantee two things - that the people deported would not be safe, and that it wouldn't stop the small boats coming. So then what would the right wing Tories start whining for?

Quite aside from the fact the Rwanda scheme will only account for a few hundred people, it now seems we get Rwandan refugees in exchange,

OP posts:
TheABC · 07/12/2023 17:39

I feel sorry for the refugees who have become political footballs, but none at all for the Tory pyscho-drama playing out right now.

If they wanted to stop the boats, they would have worked with France and put processing in place on that side.

If they wanted less legal immigration, they have full control over the routes and exceptions for people entering the country. The fact they are still outraged by this, despite being in power for 13 years shows the depth of their intelligence, or the length of their attention span.

HannibalHeyes · 07/12/2023 20:21

I still find it hard to believe that all these Tories think that the illegal Rwanda scheme is still the hill they're willing to die on.

And die they will...

HannibalHeyes · 07/12/2023 20:24

And finally, Tory presenter Nick Robinson has a go at Cruella...

Is Robert Jenrick really thinking that Braverman stands a chance of replacing Sunak after they lose the GE? Just setting himself up to Shadow Chancellor to Braverman’s Leader of the Opposition??

HannibalHeyes · 07/12/2023 22:32

And just after they told us there were no extra costs;

NEW: The cost of the govt’s Rwanda scheme has doubled before a single migrant has been sent there. Home Office admits tonight it has handed over another £100m this year, on top of the original £140m cost - with a further £50m to follow next year

Many comedians were getting huge laughs when they pointed out we had sent 2 home secretaries to Rwanda and zero asylum seekers.

It's now three home secretaries and zero asylum seekers

Truly we are a laughing stock.

Meanwhile where is the oxygen of publicity for the cost of living crisis, the terrifying rise in homelessness and poverty ? All stolen to cover Rwanda.
