To feel so fucking depressed and angry about brexit?

I'm Scottish. I voted to remain. It feels like nothing I vote for matters. I despise Farage and Johnstone. I despise the call for sovereignty certain parts of England still believe in. I despise of the right wing media.

I really feel this country is fucked, unless you have money behind you and beside you.

You're not alone.

On a positive for you, you may have the opportunity to vote for independence. In England we're permanently stuck with the neanderthals.

UserX · 11/11/2019 19:10

You’ll get no love on here over it though. The Brexit bots will show up any minute to tell you to stop moaning and how great everything is going to be.

I agree with you though. We moved abroad to get away from it, the uk will never recover from this and we just couldn’t see our children’s future going down the pan.

I think what makes me angriest is the millions spent on brexit while the nhs and schools are left to fend for themselves. Apparently there is a magic money tree when it comes to keeping the rich in power.

ssd · 11/11/2019 19:11

I know. I'd vote yes tomorrow.

I can't understand the English working classes being behind Boris and Farage. I'll never understand it. Do they really think these 2 will stick up for the working man? Is it because Farage has a photoshoot in a pub and Boris speaks posh?

No, you’re not unreasonable. It’s all bloody depressing and I swap between feeling furious and very, very sad about the whole thing. I’m also slightly in denial.

ssd · 11/11/2019 19:12

I don't care if the brexit bots show up. Nothing will ever change my mind here. Its beyond frustrating.

It’s fucking grim. Liars, cheaters and narcissists the lot of them. I just don’t get how people can trust them. I wouldn’t trust them to look after my cat.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 11/11/2019 19:15

I’m 100% with you, except I’m fucking stuck in middle England with the turkeys voting for Christmas.

I don’t see how anyone with sense can believe a word those two say, or watch a video of Boris trying to talk without a prompt and think that’s the man to run the country, let alone negotiate brexit. When I press leavers on their beliefs all I hear are repetitive media soundbites, so I blame the media for sure.

MrsFoxPlus4Again · 11/11/2019 19:15

I’m with you on that.

housebuyingistheworst · 11/11/2019 19:15

I just hope when Brexsh*t finally hits the fan Brexiters for once take full responsibility. No more blaming the EU for taking away their toys!

ssd · 11/11/2019 19:15

I watch ch4 news, BBC news and itv news.

They never ask anyone young about brexit. It's always people over 40. The young are never stopped on the street and asked their opinions incase they show how angry they are.

OP posts:
ssd · 11/11/2019 19:16

I say that as a 50 plus person. It's always people like me they interview.

ssd · 11/11/2019 19:18

housebuyingistheworst, these people never take responsibility.

Look at David Cameron, where us he now??

I'm Scottish. I voted to remain. It feels like nothing I vote for matters.

If remain had won, would you care about the 38% of Scottish voters who voted for brexit?

Does Scotland have 38% of a Party to represent them?

It's a problem with FPTP.

Karwomannghia · 11/11/2019 19:20

It’s created a deep rift in our country which I can’t imagine healing ever. If we end up remaining brexiteers will be so angry and frustrated and if we do brexit remainers will feel frustrated about the disastrous consequences. Plus all the money already down the drain trying to negotiate a deal, the job losses already, the costs to businesses not knowing what’s going to happen. I can’t see an end to it either way.

makingmammaries · 11/11/2019 19:21

It isn’t much fun being in continental Europe with a U.K. passport, either. Bye-bye, dear freedom of movement, you were the best thing that ever happened to my generation (well, that and the fall of the Berlin Wall).

housebuyingistheworst · 11/11/2019 19:29

@ssd David Cameron? He's probably writing the sequel to his insipid autobiography and basking in the sunshine. I bet this one is gonna be called "Je ne regrette rien".

Whatsername7 · 11/11/2019 19:30

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I honestly despair.

Mydogmylife · 11/11/2019 19:36

I'm Scottish and agree with you completely. The total disrespect for the Scottish nation shown by our political 'masters' is mind numbing , although they seem pretty indifferent to the opinions of large chunks of as well. Hell in a handcart is the phrase that comes to mind.

Bat3 · 11/11/2019 19:36

Agree. I feel very down about it. I feel so sorry for my children and their future.

It will take years and years to recover from this. Not just brexit but the rifts and repercussions it has caused.

thewomanontheshore · 11/11/2019 19:37

What do you feel about the possibility of Scotland going independent, OP?

Whitejotter · 11/11/2019 19:40

I agree with you - the poor are being duped into thinking brexit will somehow benefit them - we live in a safe tory seat, the MP is useless and I bet the stupid twats will vote for him again.

lljkk · 11/11/2019 19:42

Oh goody, another land border hassle to sort out if Scotland goes independent. (sigh)

KenDodd · 11/11/2019 19:47

Yanbu

I will blame the people who voted for this for every one of the consequences, afterall, how many times have we heard them say they knew what they voted for. The Leavers I know don't even care if people start murdering each other again in NI though so I doubt they will care what I think or how much this will damage people.

fedup21 · 11/11/2019 19:50

Look at David Cameron, where us he now?

I think Danny Dyer raised that point beautifully last year!

I completely agree with you, OP. It’s frightening.
