My DD told me about this site, (Remainvoter.com) it's non party political and is run and funded by volunteers. Anyone else seen it? Most interesting thing is a blog post about changing politics rather than blaming politicians who are caught up in the present system. I agree since I am just fed up to the back teeth with the whole thing and hardly know who to vote for to get any common sense or decent behaviour anymore.

IIRC UK troops stand at around 82,000.
In WW1 around 100,000 were killed in Paschendale within a day or two. Admittedly tactics are completely different now.
The purpose of an EU army is to defend Europe. I believe currently if any member of the EU are attacked by 'external' forces, all member states are required to assist in some way.
While it would be great if no armies were ever necessary, unfortunately the world doesn't work like that, so you have to be able to defend your country.
Having UK troops that have integrated with others from across Europe is a good idea as it can lead to savings in costs and more importantly a much 'tighter' fighting force who communicate effectively.

About 52-48 for Leave then. No fucking change. They haven't added to their cult in real terms.

Clerc a fine idea indeed - do you think the EU would have stopped Blair taking the UK into the War v Iraq? That War based on lies, that destroyed another country and fuelled the Global Jihad we have today?

Would the EU have stopped Cameron doing the same to Libya?

NATO didn't, the UN didn't - what makes you think the EU could?

A "much tighter fighting force" - fighting what? fighting who? fighting for what? - the EU is supposed to be about preserving Peace within Continental Europe; not going out and fighting others.

{not going out and fighting others.}
Please go and research where British troops are stationed and 'fighting' around the world. Although 'conventional war' has not been declared in most of the situations, it still requires soldiers armed and trained to do the jobs they are doing. You will find them in peacekeeping duties with other Europeans, American, Australian etc in many 'pockets' around the globe.
Just because the UK has the luxury of NOT having piles of sandbags in Oxford Street with soldiers pointing automatic rifles over the top does not mean there is nothing happening.

No SNP or Plaid Cymru mentioned in that Election Maps UK tweet Confused

They usually poll between them c4% (even though they're not nationwide Wink) ( much higher in their respective countries Grin) - so if you add them in, it flips it to 52:48 Remain:Leave Grin

I cannot believe thew figure of 400,000 on the March, even if it did come from fullfact. Many who were there noticed how much biggere it was than the October march of 700,000.

Transport for London designated thirteen underground stations on the route as "exit only" and counted 1.6 million people arriving at them. Allowing for the people just going to that part of London for other reasons, and remembering how many hundreds of coaches came from all over the country, and marchers arriving by other means, I am absolutely sure that the total on the march must have been between 1 and 2 million.

The latest YouGov poll for The Times shows the LibDems second on 16%, ahead of Labour on 15%, not the other way round Batsypatsy
