Good morning brexiteers.

Well, we’re almost there ( although today will be interesting )
So if you’re not worried in the slightest about anything ( I’m not ) then jump into the pool of tranquility, & let the warm water of optimism & new beginnings wash over you.

Fully appreciate some remainers have real concerns, but in the interest of balance, plenty of us haven’t.

This thread is for us.

OP posts:
StoorieHoose · 29/01/2019 18:22

I’ll be bloody delighted if we crash out with no deal - Scottish Independence will be one step closer

Greensleeves · 29/01/2019 18:23

@GhostOfFrankGrimes I am a nasty remainer. I'd revoke A50 tomorrow.

Bombardier25966 · 29/01/2019 18:32

@Doubletrouble99 Just to point out that Momentum cannot deselect an MP. That can only be done by local Party members, and many areas don't even have an active Momentum group. Hope that helps.

Can we add

Star It's all Jeremy Corbyn's fault

to the Brexit bingo generator please?

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 29/01/2019 18:35

Signing in, I am a Remainer but very concerned that Project Fear is now seemingly Govt policy with the prepping of the army to deal with any unrest post a no deal Brexit.

I want the Leavers who are saying “all will be fine” to be right I really do.

I hope they ARE right but can’t deny some concern,

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 29/01/2019 18:36

Scottish independence is inevitable now anyway, and yes increased support for this may be a silver lining if we crash out. I would still much rather not crash out though

SisterOfDonFrancisco · 29/01/2019 18:47

I hope the leavers are right and we'll be better off after 29th March. I'm not seeing any evidence that the government is doing well with the negotiations but we can still wish that the future relationship trade negotiations go much better.

Badbadbunny · 29/01/2019 18:49

Have you ever wondered why no labour MPs with leave constituencies are not speaking up for their own constituents.

We have on of those. She's an absolute joke as she won't commit to anything. She's just sitting on the fence trying to keep both camps believing that she agrees with them. She's just cancelled a series of Brexit meetings - presumably because she's realised she can't keep up the charade when it comes to having to answer awkward questions. Utterly pathetic.

Waits for the wave of tranquility and optimism to wash over me

Waits some more

1tisILeClerc · 29/01/2019 18:55

{I hope the leavers are right and we'll be better off after 29th March}
Well it is likely that up to a couple of million will be either unemployed or on short hours starting soon after 29 March even if the WA is signed off.
The full extent of companies relocating to the EU will start to become apparent as well. Not much chance of anyone being 'better off' as there have been no plans suggested about actually helping anyone or attempts at regeneration.

Dongdingdong · 29/01/2019 18:56

Seriously though, while I would rather we were remaining in the EU, I do think the scaremongering and hysteria from some remainers has reached the point of hysteria on this board. There's one poster who was saying she's been crying and unable to sleep due to the stress of it all, which no doubt has been partly caused by reading the constant stream of Armageddon threads on here. Another thread talks about being "paralysed with fear" over possible food shortages.

There's only one thing we can all do now, and that's to keep calm and carry on (to trot out the old cliche) and make the best of the situation we're in.

Dongdingdong · 29/01/2019 18:57

"The hysteria has reached the point of hysteria" - ha! Clearly I need an early night...

1tisILeClerc · 29/01/2019 18:57

By definition, any trade with the EU will be at a worse rate than it was and so far no one else is lining up with any 'good' deals although strictly speaking they can't until the UK leaves.

Dongdingdong · 29/01/2019 18:59

I would prefer the UK to leave as soon as possible, bring it forward would be great BUT the WA and starting the transition period must happen, not a crash out.

Really, LeClerc? I'm surprised - I thought you were a remainer. At least while we're still in there's a chance that, well, we might just never leave.

Once we're out we're out!

1tisILeClerc · 29/01/2019 19:00

Crashing out without a deal IS worthy of considerable fear. Leaving with the WA signed is a breeze in comparison, although it is kicking the can down the road a bit. It is not an actual 'deal' of course so most things are up for negotiation.

1tisILeClerc · 29/01/2019 19:03

You are correct that I voted Remain, but since the government has made such a total balls up of negotiations it is obvious that it needs to leave as damaging the EU would cause truly catastrophic problems.

StoorieHoose · 29/01/2019 19:04

itsallgoingtobefine

I would much rather revoke than crash out. But no deal will push more people to vote for independence

I’m secretly hoping that TM on the 29th March goes to Brussels to hand in the revoke letter then does a live tv speech telling everyone she has resigned :)

AutumnCrow · 29/01/2019 19:07

Brexit. Free at the point of depravity.

1tisILeClerc · 29/01/2019 19:17

With the aggression of Trump and Putin destabilising many parts of the world, the EU needs to be strong and stable. It needs the UK to remain but be a strong and capable ally, but it is currently a juvenile delinquent, thus worse than no use.
Putin is already hassling the Ukraine and would probably like a go at one of the Eastern European countries so the EU needs to functioning properly.

Moussemoose · 29/01/2019 19:24

I’m with you OP. Don’t worry until we have to. And we probably won’t have to.

wincarwoo · 29/01/2019 19:41

@surferjet what do you know about Foreign direct investment?
Have you ever worked in exporting/importing or the supply chain?

Bohbell · 29/01/2019 19:42

Christ it’s like a load of people just got in and pissed in the jacuzzi.

Moussemoose · 29/01/2019 19:45

Jacuzzi = hot, bubbly wee with extra spunk.

So just like Brexit then.

wincarwoo · 29/01/2019 19:45

Grinthen you know how remainers feel then
