What will happen now?

OP posts:
searose · 15/01/2019 20:09

I don't know how anyone could say they do have confidence in this government.

ivykaty44 · 15/01/2019 20:10

Fucking mess

jasjas1973 · 15/01/2019 20:10

So what! the "we" is the Government & Parliament, if you want a say in what happens next, then call for a GE or a second vote because you and i have had our say, its out of our hands now.

Catniss - of course we're still paying - we're still members. Don't worry, leaving will (and is) costing us far more than staying!

delboysskinandblister · 15/01/2019 20:11

@NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1

I'm with you. No point in panic buying. Grin

ballsdeep · 15/01/2019 20:12

I think if they had a vote again the outcome would be very different - brexit I mean

SillySallySingsSongs · 15/01/2019 20:13

Corbyn was more or less obliged to submit a motion of no confidence

Well especially as she cleverly called his bluff straight after the vote and tabled time fof it tomorrow before he stood up.

NotAnotherJaffaCake · 15/01/2019 20:13

The last thing that Tories want is May to go, as no one wants that job. Think she was relying on that to get her deal through parliament. I don't see how she can stay. She will win a VONC but won't be able to get anything through parliament ever.

XingMing · 15/01/2019 20:14

Sterling has bounced so clearly some factions don't think the result is a disaster.

Quartz2208 · 15/01/2019 20:14

It wont be no deal - that is about the only thing that Parliament can agree on.

And that is the problem the only thing they all (apart from hardline brexiteers) dont want

And its not just DC, BJ is just as liable for all of this. But at least he has lost for now what he wanted. They are all doing this for political gain as well that is the problem with this mess (and why we got into it in the first place)

Greensleeves · 15/01/2019 20:14

VONC is a hoop Corbyn has to jump through at this point, I'm sure he's just as aware as everyone else that it's a pointless exercise. What he will do afterwards is important I think. Will Labour throw its weight behind a PV?

SillySallySingsSongs · 15/01/2019 20:17

DUP just confirmed they will vote with the government tommorrow so what a waste.

Another afternoon debate of nothing but poltical posturing.

Namechangeragain01 · 15/01/2019 20:17

No deal looks increasingly likely.
We live in interesting times.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 15/01/2019 20:17

Here people go again assuming they know JC will lose. Just like those who assumed Remain would win...do you not learn? I have a horrible feeling it will all be cancelled. Remainers will heave a sigh of relief and go back to ignoring the issues (Of which immigration was NOT one for me) that led to the leave vote and me and my family will remain (ha ha hollow laugh) in the same shit as before.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 15/01/2019 20:17

The last 2.5 years have been pointless. Brexit is pointless. May delayed the vote and a month was lost.

May is the worst PM in living memory but for the Tories it doesn’t matter, party before country.

jasjas1973 · 15/01/2019 20:18

Sterling has bounced so clearly some factions don't think the result is a disaster

Of course the result isn't a disaster, its fcuking brilliant! means that no brexit is one step nearer and that is good for us all, inc sterling, manufactures and inflation.

FrancesFryer · 15/01/2019 20:18

The fact that sinn féin always abstain means they can afford for 5 conservatives to vote in favour of no confidence

GhostofFrankGrimes · 15/01/2019 20:18

Brexit is happening because of an unresolved civil war in the Tory party.

Just Here...
I agree. Business as normal.

Hoping for a no deal though.

SillySallySingsSongs · 15/01/2019 20:20

Will Labour throw its weight behind a PV?

They haven't thrown their weight behind anything, including the referendum debate in the first place.

They might on paper, will Corbyn stand on a platform with others such as Alistair Cambell or LibDems calling for it? Doubt it

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 15/01/2019 20:20

So it's either No Deal or No Deal and and JC government.

Fucked we are.

VamillaSugar · 15/01/2019 20:20

Where’s Boris Johnson? This is all his fault.

jasjas1973 · 15/01/2019 20:21

*my family will remain (ha ha hollow laugh) in the same shit as before8

that was always going to be the case, brexit was never about helping the poor, just used by the wealthy to get your vote.
Look at JRMs actions since 2016....

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 15/01/2019 20:21

Hoping for a no deal though.

Why?
