What will happen now?

'I have some hope. We might be able to stop this whole bollockery'

I agree. It seems obvious that Brexit just CANNOT be delivered. There is probably still a majority in parliament for Remain so yes, let's 'get on with it' - 'it' being calling the whole bloody thing off!

derxa · 15/01/2019 20:47

Oh fuck. A GE will see the return of Makeourfuture, to top it all off. Grin

Move2WY · 15/01/2019 20:48

@PinkGin24 do you actually understand what no deal means?

Greensleeves · 15/01/2019 20:48

So you voted Leave to make a point, rather than because you thought leaving the EU was the right thing to do? And now you're angry that we're leaving and it's a clusterfuck that's going to make us all even poorer?

Turkeys voted for Christmas to protest about being eaten for dinner. Give me strength.

abbsisspartacus · 15/01/2019 20:48

Teresa may is determined to stay to the bitter end I really hope she can pull a fucking rabbit out of her hat as right now all she is doing is goading corbyn into a vote of no confidence I mean why do that? Fucks sake it's just moving the issues away fro. Brexit into a pissing contest shag each other or find another way to compare your dick sizes don't fuck up the damm country

ToeToToe · 15/01/2019 20:48

Apparently it's wall to wall in Germany

That's embarrassing, we look a absolute shambles.

I want a people's vote: "Do you want to: a)continue trying to do Brexit, or b) withdraw A50 and Stop The Madness.

I would be v interested in the result of that.

Justanotherlurker · 15/01/2019 20:48

A GE will see the return of Makeourfuture, to top it all off.

That self confessed Tankie has name changed and is lurking among us, Ive spotted them on other threads, they are not being paid to astroturf now though so its toned down a lot.

So many bad soundbites it was cringeworthy.

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/01/2019 20:48

#embarrassing! Glad I am Scottish not British. Just wish we were independent and didnt have to care about this Westminster shite! And this attitude that the UK is the laughing stock of the world is hilarious - they DONT CARE!!

XingMing · 15/01/2019 20:49

There is always the (vague) possibility that people will open their minds to the idea of what they could do for themselves, to create decent wages Dangermouse. I know that independent thought is difficult who expect to be told what to do, and when to do it though.

ReanimatedSGB · 15/01/2019 20:49

Not all the people who voted leave are fuckwitted racist scum - but all the fuckwitted racist scum voted leave.

What many of the either misled or now regretful leave voters want - and need - is money to be put into their communities (rather than a 'hostile environment' for black , brown and 'foreign' people). They want investment in infrastructure, hospitals, transport, facilities. They want decent social housing, and a living wage. They should have these things. These things could be provided by: increasing the top rate of tax, increasing company tax, cracking down on tax avoidance. The problem is not the free movement of people. It never was. Apart from vicious dickheads, no one would be remotely bothered about where their neighbours, colleagues, acquaintances were born if they lived in a reasonable, comfortable, properly funded community and weren't being starved to increase the profits of a tiny, greedy minority.

BertrandRussell · 15/01/2019 20:49

“I'm terrified of a Corbyn government too“

I’m a Labour Party member who did not want Corbyn to be leader. I don’t think he’s a good leader at all- but I don’t understand why so many people are “terrified” of a Corbyn government. What are you terrified of?

abbsisspartacus · 15/01/2019 20:49

Sorry ^^ panic attack I get a bit inappropriate Teresa may clearly has a bigger dick

frumpety · 15/01/2019 20:50

It isn't a surprise to anyone that the deal didn't get through is it ?

Kismetjayn · 15/01/2019 20:51

If leave voters really thought it was the will of the people they wouldn't be scared of a second vote, they would win again. But they know a lot of leavers have changed their minds and a lot of the young were remainers so it's swung. Frustration.

swimmerforlife · 15/01/2019 20:51

What a disaster.

I am a labour voter and my fuck I do not want Jeremy Corbyn as PM. I actually have some sympathy for Teresa May, she has had the impossible task to clear up David Cameron's mess.

All is I can say is thank fuck I am emigrating in 3 weeks.

Aaahhhbump · 15/01/2019 20:52

JC didn't call for vote of NO confidence.
Mrs May did.
She said the government were prepared to go against convention and accept the motion from any opposition parties for tomorrow only. Labour could have stepped back and let the lib dems, Greens take the hit if it failed.

XingMing · 15/01/2019 20:52

NOt really Frumpety.

Leafyhouse · 15/01/2019 20:52

I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm actually quite proud of what's going on in Parliament at the moment. They're flexing their muscles - stonewalling the media, ignoring the whips, and getting on with business. It looks like chaos, but I think they'll come out with a good result.

DangermousesSidekick · 15/01/2019 20:52

No XingMing, it is the fact that people from low socioeconomic backgrounds do not have funds upfront and have no security blanket to take risks with.
I have seen 'bartering' sites spring up swapping skills. Bartering is the only recourse poorer people have. It's not taxable and you can't build a complex society on it.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 15/01/2019 20:52

Remarkable that the Tories won their coveted Brexit but wont take to the podium to claim their prize.

Justanotherlurker · 15/01/2019 20:53

I want a people's vote

Scuppered now as it was based on a negotiated deal, it will also scupper a lot of labours future points of blaming Cons for following neoliberal policy.

millyonth · 15/01/2019 20:55

I agree Leafy.

Justanotherlurker · 15/01/2019 20:55

Remarkable that the Tories won their coveted Brexit

Still going for a right/left issue the Ghost.. you ignoring the fact remain was fronted by Cons and the shit show is because a lot of cons have voted the deal down.

You still trying to beat some magical drum whilst unironically being pro corbyn?

kateemo · 15/01/2019 20:57

It’s like booking a holiday, finding out that the hotel has burned down and deciding to go anyway because you can always sleep on the beach and eat from bins. @WrongKindOfFace Do I cry or laugh?

ToeToToe · 15/01/2019 20:57

What are you terrified of?

I voted for Corbyn in 2017 - but in the past year or so, I've watched a disturbing movement (Momentum) build up - and it's a movement that reminds me of Totalitarianism. Hero worship of JC, seemingly a dislike of debate, and JC himself has struck me as indecisive, opportunistic, and unable to answer a simple question about Brexit coherently.

Extreme far left politics frighten me as much as far right politics.
