Why are they allowed to get away with it?

No replies wanted, just need this put out there.

Actually Intelligentsia can be singular or plural as a previous poster kindly pointed out.

Proof from the Oxford English Dictionary attached. But I don't suppose that will bother you...

Seriously - I never knew dogs had passports.
Surely not a proper passport with their photo & next of kin details?

It's only one tiny piece of the great shit storm, Rachel.

How about your EHIC card? That won't be valid.
How about roaming charges and phone bills? They will be back.

More bits and pieces in a way of life that we take for granted now.

CaptainBrickbeard · 22/07/2018 13:15

Rachel if you want to correct people’s grammar, the plural of dogs doesn’t require an apostrophe. But let’s not score points on written accuracy. Let’s instead hear about how Brexit will improve our lives. I am really interested to know how all of us being poorer will make our lives better and will honour the votes of the 17.4 million who of course voted to sink the economy because sovereignty is so much more important than food, jobs and healthcare.

thereareflowersinmygarden · 22/07/2018 13:15

Yes I do.

If we had no control of our borders, it wouldn't have existed as they'd have just come here.

It's very existence illustrated the fact that we can control our borders far more than you think.

We're not even in Schengen!

As an aside, it would be hilarious if we joined, post-Brexit 😜

Ta1kinpeace · 22/07/2018 13:15

Blue Passport - Got one already. It has an Eagle on it

No more freedom of movement - great, no more cleaners in hospitals and care homes

No more EU rules about the environment - great Rees Mogg will get his way on making UK air quality the same as Delhi

Free trade deals with everybody - great, millions of Europeans will be replaced by millions of Indians as Modi made very clear

Yup, Brexit will be great

and we'll all get thin as as everything will become so sodding expensive due to clearance and tariff costs

BertrandRussell · 22/07/2018 13:16

"it means the levarage to not control borders is too great to cut down immigration"
I don't understand that.
Why is it good to "leave ECJ control"?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 22/07/2018 13:16

Surely not a proper passport with their photo & next of kin details?

Photograph isn't mandatory and next of kin is obviously the owner.
Honestly, it's not hard.

BertrandRussell · 22/07/2018 13:18

And re dog passports? Remember rabies? No, neither do I. That's why they are a good idea.

thereareflowersinmygarden · 22/07/2018 13:18

Might start a petition for us to join.,..

CaptainBrickbeard · 22/07/2018 13:19

surfer, how did you think dogs travelled?? Have you never gone through the Channel Tunnel? They have signs up about pet passports. Did you think people could just take animals abroad with no regulations?

CaptainBrickbeard · 22/07/2018 13:20

I’ve noticed Rachel’s Raab thread has been taken down. Who will answer our Brexi questions now? We know it won’t be surfer! What a surprise that Rachel has turned out to not be legit though...

ny20005 · 22/07/2018 13:22

@surferjet have you ever left the Uk ?

Cobblersandhogwash · 22/07/2018 13:22

Why is the Raab thread no longer available???

Ta1kinpeace · 22/07/2018 13:22

Ah, so @surferjet has just exposed themselves as a little Englander who has never travelled to Europe by ferry or train

because if they had, they would have known about dog passports - as the signs are in BIG letters at the ports

so their prejudice against Yerp is all based on what the tabloids have told them rather than any empirical evidence

CaptainBrickbeard · 22/07/2018 13:23

Cobblers MN are ‘taking a look behind the scenes’ aka Rachel is a troll. Big surprise!

TheElementsSong · 22/07/2018 13:25

I like how the OP herself has been frantically squirrelling on to all kinds of "look over there!" to try and distance themselves from their own posts on their own thread Grin

BertrandRussell · 22/07/2018 13:25

Ah shit. The first person prepared to answer any Brexit questions and they turn out to be a troll.......

surferjet · 22/07/2018 13:27

Tbh I never really thought about it. I’m not a dog owner see.
I have been through the Channel tunnel many times but I’ve never noticed dogs. ( although have seen a big kennel hotel type think at the French end.

I would have thought you’d need some sort of document to ensure the dog hasn’t got rabies or anything - but a passport?
I think dog passports are amazingly sweet though.

OP posts:
CaptainBrickbeard · 22/07/2018 13:30

I’m not a dog owner. It helps sometimes to know things that don’t directly affect you and nothing else...

Ta1kinpeace · 22/07/2018 13:30

surferjet

WTF do you think they would call it if not a passport ?

HOW have you managed to get on a ferry without noticing the BIG signs about animal passports (not just dogs, cats, parrots, rabbits etc etc)

CaptainBrickbeard · 22/07/2018 13:31

So, can we get back to ‘get behind Brexit or shut the fuck up’ please? That was the high point of debate on the thread, I think.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 22/07/2018 13:31

Not sure about sweet, but they are very helpful, as part of the pets' travel scheme.

Many retired people who have a second home in France or Spain and who spend there a few months take their pets with them. Now, I appreciate that with a no deal or hard Brexit deal they will have many other problems, but this will add to it.

It might lead to dogs being abandoned either here, or in mainland Europe if there is no solution.
