Good morning Smile

Voting to leave the European Union was a monumental decision, and one that will change the direction of our Country for decades to come.
I see that as an exciting opportunity & something to be welcomed & celebrated.

So, if you see solutions instead of problems, if you see a better future for the citizens of U.K., free from the constraints of an organisation we had no control over, then this place is for you.
Of course not everything is going to run smoothly, maybe not for years, because leaving a union drowning in red tape was never going to be easy, but we are forward thinking progressive people who know the future doesn’t just mean next week.
So, here’s to our new future,
To the future of the U.K. Wine
The countdown begins.........

One for y'all

www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43055887

The European Union economy grew at its fastest pace in a decade last year, figures from the EU statistics office Eurostat have confirmed.

The 28-strong EU expanded by 2.5% in 2017, its strongest performance since 2007 when it grew by 2.7%.

(contd)

Thank god we'll soon be dumping these losers ....

AgnesSkinner · 14/02/2018 11:50

Driven the certification issue is a big problem, as production will need to stop whilst a new certification is carried out. Aston Martin has already said this would be semi-catastrophic in its evidence to the Business select committee.

www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/aston-martin-no-brexit-deal-could-be-semi-catastrophic-firm

Bearbehind · 14/02/2018 11:52

Well BJ's speech will have done more harm than good.

It was the expected rhetoric bollocks with absolutely no detail.

It's embarrassing the number of times he refered to TMs Lancaster a House speech which was over 12 months ago.

He's making matters worse with the questions.

DGRossetti · 14/02/2018 11:52

Only semi catastrophic.

So no real reason to stop Brexit then.

Bearbehind · 14/02/2018 11:56

Which is ironic considering that you Bear are suggesting Surfer is not engaged enough to have an opinion.

corcory I made no comment on surfers so called inside knowledge.

I'd already read everything she had this morning.

I did raise the point that it was somewhat arrogant of her to claim it was a coincidence that BJ's speech and her thread were at the same time when, anyone who followed the news, would know BJ's speech was announced well before this thread started.

MissionItsPossible · 14/02/2018 12:01

Glad to finally see a thread about the positivity of being outside the EU and pleased that it has lots of replies and support Smile 👍🏽

Bearbehind · 14/02/2018 12:02

Yesterday it was all about Time and what exactly she had said in a statement and Bear pulling apart each word. Rather than discussing the main points you were much more keen to split hairs and go on and on about it.

Yes it was corcory because time shamelessly backtracked, tried to make out she'd not said something she blatantly had and still got it wrong so started making flippant comments about the weather in order to avoid discussing the issue I raised.

I was and still am more than happy to discuss the main points.

Would you like to continue the discussion?

Could you share your thoughts on how the NI no hard border pledge is compatible with leaving 'the' and 'a' customs union?

Would you like to comment on the fact Barnier has said that his needs to be resolved before we can move into trade discussions and could compromise any implantation period?

Bearbehind · 14/02/2018 12:17

How many times have we heard on this thread that Surfer asked for 'solutions instead of problems' and discussions about the meaning of the word solutions! But none of you are engaging in solutions. None of you are discussing any of the suggestions given on here by leavers but are much more keen to talk about nothing but problems.

That's simply not true. Every 'solution' has been discussed and basically debunked. They are not solutions, they are aspirational ideas that people are suggesting 'might' work without thinking about the reality.

The virtual border is a perfect example of that

Sorry for the piecemeal reply- can't copy and paste properly on my phone for some reason

Bearbehind · 14/02/2018 12:21

mission, you've clearly not RTFT. Do you have any more to add to the discussion?

Perphaps some examples of the things we have to look forward to?

time4chocolate · 14/02/2018 12:25

Yes it was corcory because time shamelessly backtracked, tried to make out she'd not said something she blatantly had and still got it wrong so started making flippant comments about the weather inorder to avoid discussing the issue I raised

Do you know why I flippantly mentioned the weather Bear? Because I made several posts yesterday which you didn’t comment on, you just decided to pull one out from hours earlier, misquote to start with and then tell proceed to tell me that I was completely wrong - I thought that you were being pathetic (not for the first time) and concluded that the weather was about all you were up to/able to discuss.

TalkinPeace · 14/02/2018 12:25

missionitspossible
Are you able to provide positive answers to any of the questions I raised yesterday ?

If they exist it would reassure a lot of us to hear them.

Bearbehind · 14/02/2018 12:30

time, you know that's nonsense.

I responded to your posts, just not every single point within them.

Would you care to respond to mine and answer the questions I just posed to corcory which were what I was asking you last night?

MissionItsPossible · 14/02/2018 12:32

Bearbehind I haven't.

TalkinPeace I've only just seen this thread. Unless you've got me mixed up with somebody else or you're talking about a different thread, you didn't pose any questions to me yesterday nor have I seen them.

MissionItsPossible · 14/02/2018 12:34

Do you have any more to add to the discussion?

It's not up to you what I post Hmm As long as it doesn't breach the guidelines of the site I can post what I want thank you.

Bearbehind · 14/02/2018 12:36

Indeed you can mission. It's just slightly odd to join a thread with over 200 posts, admit you haven't actually read it and then get all indignant when someone asks what examples you have for being positive and supporting Brexit.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 14/02/2018 12:38

And so another thread falls to the gnashing, wailing & rending of garments from the unhinged collective.

Nice idea though Surfer BrewCake

TalkinPeace · 14/02/2018 12:43

faithhop
I'm not gnashing.
I'm just asking questions that those who are positive about Brexit should be able to answer without difficulty.

Those of us who have doubts about Brexit ask questions.

Those who believe in Brexit seem happy that there are no answers.
I find that a little odd.

time4chocolate · 14/02/2018 12:45

Let’s be honest Bear you think all Leavers talk nonsense anyway so hey ho.

I have noticed that you are always very keen to bring up NI (although not sure how big an issue it was for you prior to June 2016) because you know that it is the biggest problem in the negotiations and in your little world you are hanging you hat on the hope that it won’t/cant’ be solved and Brexit will not happen - I disagree.

For the umpteenth time NO I personally don’t know what the ideal solution to NI will be and neither I would think does anyone else on here, I don’t expect that will stop you from asking again, and again and again though.

Anyway, I am off now for an afternoon of fun and frivolity, will catch up later.

InfiniteSheldon · 14/02/2018 12:47

Another thread shut down by Bear c'est la vie

TalkinPeace · 14/02/2018 12:48

time4chocolate
I have never asked about NI - because its a topic of which I have no direct knowledge.

I have asked about Kent

  • which has no political edge to it, just logistics
and you seem unwilling to even go near the question.

Are you genuinely happy that there will be no customs checks
or do you think that those in favour of leaving the single market should say what their ideas are - as its not long now ....

MissionItsPossible · 14/02/2018 12:49

Bearbehind I find it odder that people would actively join a thread titled for people positive outside the EU and try and bring it down with doom and gloom, hence the confusion over the amount of support as in my original comment.

Bearbehind · 14/02/2018 12:49

I am keen to bring up NI because I see it as the biggest stumbling block.

A solution has to be found.

I'm not hanging my hat on it stopping Brexit at all. Leavers should be more worried that it could very well temper their vision of Brexit.

And no, I won't be asking you again, I can't be bothered, it's pointless.

You thought it was sorted so had dismissed it out of hand anyway.

MissionItsPossible · 14/02/2018 12:50

The ending of Freedom of Movement pleases me about Brexit to answer your question

Bearbehind · 14/02/2018 12:51

I don't find that odd at all mission

The OP specifically stated that it was a thread for those who see solutions instead of problems.

It's only natural that people who see problems with no solutions would be interested in reading and discussing those points.
