Brexit

The weather is on the side of the people

Chucking it down in the East of England. Storms last night. Senior Remain campaigners phoning in minute by minute weather updates to Brussels. To say there is despair among the elite is to do the English language injustice.

Brexiters were out in force, soaked to the skin, some were being carried to the polling booths. As we said "good morning" to each other, there were mentions of "Independence Day" with laughs and winks.

Some Brexiters looked to the Heavens as they chucked down rain upon us and smiled. The Heavens were on our side.

Sunny and warm here in Glasgow Smile

Dh and I have already walked to the polling station to vote REMAIN risking sunstroke Wink.

The polling staff said that there had been a steady flow of people from 7am, which is good.

Chattymummyhere · 23/06/2016 09:38

Raining here in east Anglia. Many parents on the school run who where still undecided listening to the leave campaigners.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 23/06/2016 09:41

Don't be fooled, people! EU bureaucrats have been interfering with the weather for decades now, in cahoots with the massively lucrative So Called Global Warming Industry, which goes right to the very top, and which is (bizarrely) much, much more lucrative and powerful than any, or all, oil companies. If it's sunny near you, beware - the elite have done this, in conjunction with fluoride in your water, to force you to vote Remain and condemn yourselves to a lifetime of servitude.

Illuminati confirmed.

Or not.

IpanemaChica · 23/06/2016 09:42

I've just waded through some local flooding to vote remain☔️

claig · 23/06/2016 09:43

As the howling winds hurled down the rain, there was panic in Westminster among Remain
As the pelting rain punished poured on down, in Brussels there were no sunny smiles, just worried frowns
There were howls of woe and cries of pain among the camp rooting for Remain
They had prayed for a sunny day, in order to try and get their way
But the Gods held hands with the people, the cocks crowed on their steeples
As the clock struck ten, the polls closed and Remain still hoped they would win by a nose
But the rain had ruined their day, the people had had their say
There was nothing the high and mighty could do about it, the people had chosen Brexit

Augusta, claig believes in all the conspiracy theories, plus an additional overarching one of his/her own which s/he hasn't shared with us yet, but I bet it's a corker.

Does it involve shape-shifting lizards?

DetestableHerytike · 23/06/2016 09:46

Claig

It's
Not
Raining
Everywhere

HTH

BitOutOfPractice · 23/06/2016 09:50

Is that last one meant to be a poem claig?

OH god I've just died of the cringe!

Lweji · 23/06/2016 09:50

I think that was a message from heaven telling you to stay at home, claig. Why did you fight it?

Whisky2014 · 23/06/2016 09:50

took my own pen LOL.

I'm glad to be voting the opposite of this person.

BitOutOfPractice · 23/06/2016 09:51

FYI claig this is the very latest satellite map showing where the rain is right now

The weather is on the side of the people
Lweji · 23/06/2016 09:54

Ah, its just claig...

I was more: Oh, that sounds just like claig. It is.

Whisky2014 · 23/06/2016 09:54

Little Claig wants to Leave,
But the thought of that makes me heave.
I can't stand small minded folk,
Their reasons to Leave are a joke.

:)

Lweji · 23/06/2016 09:55

So, it's just pouring down on claig's head. I rest my case.
There was a clear message to you and you disregarded it. Beware you don't turn into a salt statue.

"EU referendum polling day weather: storm clouds could have silver lining for Leave campaign

People are caught out in a heavy rain shower in Westminster

Kate McCann, Senior Political Correspondent

22 June 2016 • 8:16am

The Met Office is predicting that thunderstorms are likely to descend on the UK on polling day in a washout that could boost the Leave campaign.

Weather forecasters have issued yellow and amber warnings for rain and localised flooding in the south east during the day on Thursday, when millions of voters are expected to go to the polls."

If it's raining locusts, I'll still be out to cast my remain vote!

shinytorch2 · 23/06/2016 10:01

Claig

I love reading your amusing thoughts...as I've said before looking forward to what you have to say about the US election!

I don't believe this guff about the weather favouring one side or the other. I just hope lots of people vote and that turnout is high.

Whichever side you are voting for do it with passion!

Whisky2014 · 23/06/2016 10:01

This thread alone may boost more Remainers to go out and vote!

Peeporeader · 23/06/2016 10:02

~anywhere you go, you always take the ukip weather with you~

saffynool · 23/06/2016 10:04

Claig, you've not called it right yet, bless you. Not once.

I love that you think Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage represent 'the people'. Love it.

PeterandJudithSurname · 23/06/2016 10:04

Bonkers

claig · 23/06/2016 10:04

Thanks, shinytorch2. US election reports and insights are definitely on the cards as that will be the biggest event this year.

claig are you saying that something the Telegraph thinks might happen (ie heavy rain washing across the whole nation all day) is a more reliable source of factual information that the satellite map showing where it is actually raining?

If so then you truly have confirmed your narna status

zippyswife · 23/06/2016 10:06

Pouring down with rain here and I'll be heading out with my 3 dcs including newborn in the puddles to vote leave. A blizzard wouldn't stop me.

MangoMoon · 23/06/2016 10:31

There seems to be an awful lot of Remain voters posting on this thread. The Brexiters are obviously all at the polling booths.

Haha!!

I do love your threads Claig, you make me actual lol.

Agree with FrankUnderwoodsWife.
