Woah! dd2 wasn't allowed a snack at nursery as she refused to say grace

I can't believe I nodded sympathetically when they told me this today when I picked dd2 up. 'oh dear' I said 'sorry she's being such a pain'. It wasn't until I got in the car that I thought 'Hold on a minute...refusing to say grace for a SNACK at 3.5...is this really superbrat behaviour??'

This sounds really similar to the treatment my DS got at his little private nursery (from which I moved him). Exactly as you say I felt they were applying the same rules, standards of behaviour, etc to the 3 yr olds as they were to the pre-prep age children and this is so unfair, as you and your DD have started to find out. I would say be really strong with them as this seems it may be an issue in private nurseries....I wanted my DS to have freedom to be himself and learn in his own time, so moved him to an ordinary pre-school where he has flourished big time. Private does not mean best in my experience at this age, anyway.
