Woah! dd2 wasn't allowed a snack at nursery as she refused to say grace

I can't believe I nodded sympathetically when they told me this today when I picked dd2 up. 'oh dear' I said 'sorry she's being such a pain'. It wasn't until I got in the car that I thought 'Hold on a minute...refusing to say grace for a SNACK at 3.5...is this really superbrat behaviour??'

when I picked her up from the playground she buried her head in my legs and said 'I sorry mummy I was naughty at snack' Sad

I suppose there might be a difference between "no I won't say grace because I think it is silly for a snack" (entirely understandable IMO) and "no I won't say grace, or stop pulling my tights down, or saying silly poo-poo-head to all my friends either"...

Could it be this was a last straw bit of silliness by an annoyed nursery teacher?

It seems a mighty annoying pinch point though - grace for a snack...must start getting dd to recite the Nicene Creed before I unveil her box of "keep quiet and eat these everyone is looking at you again" organic raisins on Sunday mornings, clearly Shock

i think it's ridiculous. At 6 or 7 then yes maybe if they all had to follow rules, but at 3!!

Oh I bet there was a 0% snack distribution enid. As lockets says, fine example of Christian charity and a shoo-in for atheist husbands to relish.

she just didnt want to she says. Apparently she said it very nicely at lunchtime and clearly has said it every day three times a day since she has started going in October.

twig I am afraid I and dd1 are rather pious

Well unless a child is being very very naughty i hate that with holing food and making them the odd one out. Did she have to sit and watch or was she allowed in another room?
