ebay is conspiring against me...it wont klet me sign in!
Anyone got any great ideas as to why?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/01/2009 14:13

I will join in... have a few things to sell and make some holiday spends!! so far to sell i have an unused childs bike trailer, and a bruin stroller (listed on ebay earlier today) and have a full wardrobe of boys 2-3yr clothes to sell... i'm hoping for around £100-150 for them things.... so by easter i may be able to be ruthless and get about £300.... need it to buy a sling for DC3 (due around easter) and a lightweight stroller for hols in oct, also for DC3... otherwise the rest will be holiday spending money!!

notcitrus · 03/01/2009 16:52

I made £180 in \december, so i guess £150 after fees. Never want to see more bubblewrap - future sales will have to be robust items. Also need tyo ensure i figure weight of packaging into postage costs...jiffy bags are heavy!

not sure what to sell now but have lots to freecycle. do have lots of computer parts to sell but i need MrNC to describe them - unless 'mystery circuit board for computer' is likely to attract bidders...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/01/2009 17:00

DH is getting the bike trailer out of the shed for me to photograph and list tomorrow, I also ahve a few toys of the DC's to sell, and possibly my super duper all singing and dancing food processor & blender duo... damn thing cost me £120 about 18mths ago and i have only used it twice.... it looks amazing in the kitchen though so i just dont know if i'm ready to give up hope just yet....

i also have 2 DC's and 3 cats to list if anyone know's of the right way to do it and maybe even sell DH along with his xbox and nintendo DS if you think i'll get good prices??

OneDS · 03/01/2009 20:31

I now have 31 auctions on ebay Need to earn as much money, as quickly as possible through selling stuff I no longer need, as will be splitting from DP.

mumofdjandbabies · 03/01/2009 21:17

HI may I join

Glaskam I have an ace sling ! a beko and need some boys 2-3 clothes maybe we could swap some

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 04/01/2009 09:34

mumofDJ- thats a good option... means i'm not 'spending' any profits.... I have all my boys clothes on my picturetrail aswell as a couple of pairs of size 7 boys shoes, and i also have a very nice Timberland boys winter coat in 2-3 to photograph but i was looking for about £20 posted for that as its in almost perfect condition and cost me £65!! but by all means have a look and if there's anything you like i'd be happy to swap...

I still have only my pushchair listed... am hoping to get the bike trailer on later today... DH is off so can get it out for me... attempted to drag it out myself but between my fear of entering the shed (all the spideys) and the weight of the box i failed!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 04/01/2009 09:36

better link to picturetrail

Ahem, Ladies, i'd like to join in - at least i need to sell some things and raise money, but can i ask a question?

I dont know how to do the pictures thingy, i am far too busy to be posting out things and such, so i was thinking about doing a table-top sale instead. Sorry if i am being cheeky asking on this thread, but ive never done either so thought id ask here first and ebay if it is the suggested way to go.

I thought that if i pay the £30 for the table, then i could potentially sell more things in one go? Advice please?

The things i can think of that i have off the top of my head are:
night and day bottle warmer (bnib)
stroller (used few times, bought on way to airport to go on hols as forgot our at home)
advent microwave steriliser
chicco baby carrier
chicco baby walker
approx 20 girls coats aged 1-5
approx 30 girls jeans and trousers aged 1-5
approx 50 girls tops aged 1-5
swivel bath seat
approx 30 girls dresses aged 1-5
approx 20 girls shoes and boots aged 1-5
new born tan timberland boots, unworn
boys silk christening outfit aged 9-12 months
pink leapster2 unused
leapfrog fridge phonics, barely used
bluye leappad
about 10 leapster reading book things, unused

I am sure i have so much more, but just wanted to get an idea bout what anyone thinks, please. TIA

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 04/01/2009 14:57

Lonestranger- you normally get more on ebay than at a table-top sale or boot sale IME. On ebay people buy becasue they want it, and at a table-top boot sale thing people normally buy because its 'cheap'....

I've had my fair share of flops when selling on ebay, but at the same time have had loads sell for tons more than expected!!

Shame i'm due easter week as as soon as i've given birth i also ahve all my maternty clothing and a doppler to sell too... if she comes early i may make the funds just in time to add to my total!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 04/01/2009 15:11

also have a couple of girls clarks to list and a BNIP bratz helmet and elbow pad set.... so my list is as follows:

  • Stroller (listed already)
  • Childs Bike Trailer
  • Boys 2-3 (if i dont swap some with mumofDJ)
  • Tomy baby front carrier
  • 2-3 timberland coat
  • few pairs of clarks
  • few pairs of boys trainers and shoes
  • Some womens clothing (smart work-suits etc)
  • some womens shoes
  • Bratz helmet & safety set
  • Few toddler toys inc mega blocks etc.
  • Camcorder thats only been used once.

Think thats about it so far... got to get them listed first though.... I doubt that little lot will get me over halfway though- will have to have another route around...

OneDS · 04/01/2009 17:22

Really hope my items sell well {fingers crossed emotion!}.

Thought I'd mention in case anyone has CDs they could sort through, I just got rid of some with Magpie. There is info on MSE site or you could google them, you put in tbarcode number of your cd and it gives you an offer price, they then send you prepaid envelope, send them the CDs and they send you a cheque. I just cleared out ones I rarely listen to, about 8, Got £8 - every little helps.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 04/01/2009 17:32

OneDS- thats interesting- i have tons of CD's i dont listen to anymore as i use my Ipod... May have to have a look!!

OneDS · 04/01/2009 17:34

Some of them came up at 50p, some £2.50, I think it depends how in demand they are, and how many they all ready have.

It gave my CD shelves a clear out and me some extra cash, and like I say, i only sold the ones I rarely play (fellow music lover).

I was a little dubious as never used thm before but now I have had my cheque thought I would recommend them.

OneDS · 04/01/2009 17:38

I am going to make a list of what I have made since New Year's Day, and update it as I earn.

Stuff4sale £40 (buggypod and toddler bed frame)
Magpie £8 (CDs)
Ebay . . .

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 04/01/2009 19:28

I sorted out DD2's clothes today so i have a pile of mostly age 4 girls clothes to list.
Not sure when i will get around to it though! Also have 3 Furbys to sell. 2 old ones and a new one. Probably won't make much but worh a try.

mogs0 · 04/01/2009 19:28

Me too please!! I've just listed 4 items. One is a designer handbag that I bought off ebay last year and don't really like! I've been watching an identical one that has just sold for double what I paid for it so fingers crossed I at least get my money back. The only problem is that I have my eye on another bag from the same designer and keep telling myself that if the first bag sells then I can buy a new one!!!!

My last lot of money is still in my paypal account. I'm reluctant to transfer it because it'll just get swallowed up into everyday spending, although, my cc bill will be high this month so I should put it towards that.

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 04/01/2009 19:32

Will correct myself now! Just looked at Furbys on completed listing and they do sel quite well! Just need to test they work.

Lilyloo · 04/01/2009 20:24

Hi ladies am back again FAQ , Tort !!

Hoping to have good clear out after xmas toys!

Tort dd1 didn't look twice at Peppa car but dd2 loves it so it has become hers

I want to sell a gliding rocking chair and stool to make room in dd room!
Then have a clear out of toys and clothes and hopefully avoid the dodgy buyers i seemed to be attracting last year!!

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 04/01/2009 20:25

I haven't started listing yes, want to get "stuff" organised first, get other bits packed up ready to move etc etc before I start.

I've just discovered that I may be able to get a budgetting loan to help towards my move - which if is the case then I could be moving sooner than I anticipated - depending on finding somewhere to go to! So want to make sure I've got as little packing left to do as possible.
