Haven't listed anything yet, but going to be starting to pack for my move soon, so as I go along I'll list stuff I don't want to keep.

Anyone going to join me???

Penth - you know at any other time I would have said yes.

But I have so much on at the moment I'm afraid I can't do it.

I'll be moving in the next 2/3 months. So need to start packing, as well as getting allof my stuff on ebay (still have about 6 boxes - not all properly filled - but with "stuff" in them upstairs in my bedroom to go on), I'm sure there will be more added to that. Plus I'm starting an OU course at the beginning of February, I'm going to be totally snowed under as it is and would hate to say I'd sell your stuff for you, and then find that this time next year the box is still sat in the corner of the room waited to be sorted.

I need to make enough money to take the DC on holiday in the summer this year after failing to take them last year. Ended up with a freezing few nights in October! I don't think i have much left to sell though. But will keep an eye out in local charity shops for some bargains to sell on .

Have to have a sort out before i get round to any listing and might not list for a few weeks cos meant to be having my gall bladder op 21st Jan (if it goes ahead this time!)

I know my friend has 2 bags of boys clothes to give back to me but i have no idea what is in the bags! They might be too well worn by now.

Most of the toys i had sold before Xmas.

Penthesileia · 02/01/2009 19:57

Completely understand, FAQ - and it was a cheeky long shot anyway! Thanks for not bawling me out as a cheeky mare!

Ok - so if I join this challenge (and re-register on Ebay), will you all help me not to spend any money I make on Ebay tat?

Oh god. Am scared. Am such a compulsive Ebayer...

Penthesileia · 02/01/2009 19:58

And good luck with the move and everything, FAQ - you are a remarkable woman, you know!

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 02/01/2009 20:06

Penth I am the same! I spend it too quickly even when i am suppose to save it for something!
I would sell your stuff but am guessing you asked FAQ cos you know her.

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 02/01/2009 20:07

ooo hello Tortoise - my DS's are getting good wear out of the stuff you sold me end of last year.

yes they'd worn a few bits before Christmas, but I finally got round a couple of days ago togoing through DS2's drawers and taking all his old, small stuff out, and going through the huge box of stuff so that everything was properly "available" for them.

Penthesileia · 02/01/2009 20:17

Well, I only 'know' FAQ from chatting on MN (she seems a nice ladeeeee....! ...

Would you really sell my stuff? [shocked, yet at the same time large and wet puppy dog eyes emoticon]? Seriously? It's just that I'm genuinely avoiding Ebay. It nearly brought me (and DH - who's just as bad!) to disaster (think antiquarian books. Gulp)! I'd have to re-register, I think, as cannot remember any of my logins, etc.

As I said to FAQ - I'd pay the listing costs (obv. you'd have to let me know what it all came to and I'd send you a cheque), plus you should keep a percentage of the profits. What would you think was fair - 50%?

Penthesileia · 02/01/2009 20:19

Hmmmm - just realised last post makes it look like I don't think FAQ is actually a lady, a la Little Britain stylee.

Obviously she is a lovely lady. A real one and everything.

Ahem.

I'll leave now...

Well i could give it a go lol. How much stuff do you have? And do you think it is stuff that would sell well? Wouldn't be worth your while otherwise.

Penthesileia · 02/01/2009 20:21

Mostly I lurk on threads and coo at pictures of your gorgeous children.

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 02/01/2009 20:22

Lol FAQ!

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 02/01/2009 20:24
  • that's ok no need to - I was trying to rack my brains thinking about "where" on MN I'd met you.
OP posts:
Penthesileia · 02/01/2009 20:26

I think it would sell...

Ok, so... Going through my wardrobe:

  • DAY Birger et Mikkelsen beige jacket, never worn, still with tags. The shame. Was stupid money new. Egad.
  • Phase Eight electric blue assymetric silk skirt (mid-calf length)
  • Phase Eight velvet and silk top
  • Noa Noa black cotton dress
  • Noa Noa black sequinned top
  • White Company black v-neck stretchy dress
  • a bunch of clothes for a baby girl (probably a 'job-lot', or whatever).

What do you think?

There's probably more, if I think about it...

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 02/01/2009 20:30

Sounds fine to me.
I would need a list of items i think so that i know whats what and maybe how much they cost/how much you would hope to get so i can chose a reasonable starting price. i'm not really up on brand names so don't know the value.

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 02/01/2009 20:35

hmmm might try and get my Vax Carpet Cleaner listed tomorrow, they seem to go for between 35-45 so could be a good start for me

OP posts:
TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 02/01/2009 20:39

oh god i would love a carpet cleaner! Shame you don't live near me, i would have bought it off you lol.

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 02/01/2009 20:41

Tortoise you're supposed to be making money not spending it .

I always wanted a carpet cleaner too - so bought this on in the Autmn, used it once then the novelty wore off - been sat in the corner of the utility bit unused ever since.

Bloody money staring me in the face and I couldn't even see it for looking !

OP posts:
TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 02/01/2009 20:44

I know lol But i have always wanted one! Paid a fortune to hire one in the summer cos i (stupidly) let the kids paint big cut outs of themselves and they got paint everywhere!

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 02/01/2009 20:45

I@ve noticed quite a lot of them are pick-up only, but I seem to recall that the handle part unscrews very easily (was how it came - and you had to screw it on) and I reckon it would fit into one of my long tall boxes I already have upstairs......and if it does I could increase selling potetnail

OP posts:
pushchair · 02/01/2009 21:05

Am joining by adding to watched threads and lurking atm but do have a techno frame listed and will be adding cover at some point. Havent gotten head cleared of Christmas yet so will have to prepare to scour house later.

justneedsomesleeppleasesanta · 02/01/2009 23:19

hi there,
I would be interested in making some money too. Attempted the christmas figure, but halfway through i started spending my profits!
so this time i need to be strict with myself. Want to buy nice curtains for the living room (so my expectations are not high). Already have some of dd'd old clothes on - not holding out much hope though. Also selling 24 inch tall Dora and Diego Soft toys! (far too big for house, but my parents don't realise this!)
Will keep you all updated!
