Well i made just a bit over £70 tonight. The monsoon coat went for £28, so was quite glad I let it go to auction in the end.

Have been wrapping for ages, although I have not really had many payments yet, still at least i am organised!! Grin

overthemill · 29/09/2010 17:01

the wrapping is such a pain isn't it! Gonna do loads tomorrow ass i have a posting day then. Need to look for some other packing stuff too.

DirtyMartini · 30/09/2010 23:58

Hi, can I join? Have listed two things tonight, first time since about 2008 that I've tried selling anything. Panicking a bit in case they go for pennies, but I always feel that starting too high puts bidders off so I've started both at 99p (Prada boots and Chloe shoes, both from when I used to work and wear heels and not just trundle around after dc. Can't believe I ever spent so much on shoes -- how times have changed since dc and redundancy :))

I would dearly love to see a combined total of £100 from them. They're both quite autumnal and I am counting on the fact that mags like Grazia are currently busy pressurizing people to buy shoes...

Also have a lot of mat gear and children's clothes to list; pondering whether to do bundles.

SNOWBall4girlz · 01/10/2010 00:50

good luck dirti its very addictive :)

DirtyMartini · 01/10/2010 19:41

Thanks Snow. What happened with your missing parcel -- happy ending?

Managed to photograph lots of kids' clothes during dd's nap today. One step at a time!

My fancy schmancy shoe auctions have 13 and 17 watchers, respectively, after 24 hours -- but bids are only at pennies.

Grufflemummy · 02/10/2010 00:13

Hi! Can I pop back in again?
I did quite well last time I was on this thread, so I'm rubbing you all for good luck! Wink

I have made £49.00 since mid-august, and have a few auctions finishing this weekend (free-listing last week- excellent stuff), and have just put up some more to end the week after listed here. Quite a lot of watchers on the Jojo suit, and the Gap coat, though it's only at £6, and they have been going for over £20, so I really have everything crossed...

I want to put some girls' Mini Boden and Vertbaudet up on Sunday, to finish at the same time as the boys' stuff, but do you think it's best to leave it to finish at a different weekend? Or do people with baby boys often have older girls they want to buy for too? Confused I find it so hard to know what to do for the best.

OhCobblers · 02/10/2010 14:48

hi everyone, up to £250 in total since early Sep - not bad i think!!!

i've got a gorgeous bundle of baby girls clothes which are from 6 to 12 months in sizing. perfect for autumn / winter.

would you advise listing as 2 bundles, ie, 6-9 and 9-12 or one lot?

also i've already photographed it as one lot but found some Polan PYret stuff which i know would be wanted so not sure whether to list and detail these clothes in the listing but say photos unavailable (i have a broken camera)??
what do you think? TIA

overthemill · 02/10/2010 16:07

£480 - but that is so much stuff! Still wading through all the clothes the kids have outgrown. But pleased with myself, all this was just sitting around after all :)

OhCobblers · 02/10/2010 16:22

overthemill : good going! feels so much better to have cleared it out doesn't it?!
as you say its only sitting around!!

mogs0 · 03/10/2010 16:49

Please may I join in? I haven't really sold anything since last Christmas and am drowning under the piles of stuff waiting to be ebayed!!! I have a few Bugaboo bits to put on aswell as clothes, shoes, books, toys, bags, etc, etc, etc!!!!

I photographed a few things this morning so will try and list some tonight once ds has gone to bed.

Grufflemummy · 03/10/2010 23:58

Well... I made £47 tonight, so not too bad!
Have listed some more to end next weekend, but I'm now 1/3 of the way to £300 Grin

It's a long slog though... I don't seem to have anything of high value Blush just loads (and loads) of baby/child clothes.

Is it really possible to make £300 just through clothes? I was thinking of selling DS' travel system- is it best to ebay, or go through mn do you think please? (it's a Hauck Infinity)

CaptainKirksNipples · 04/10/2010 00:09

Was just looking for a thread like this and it magically appeared on active convo's!

I listed some stuff quickly tonight, no pics or other info yet but it is easier to list items and then revise later with photos and details. I have also found it generates more interest and watchers when people don't know much about it!

CaptainKirksNipples · 04/10/2010 00:10

here

SNOWBall4girlz · 04/10/2010 10:06

not doing too well but need to revise a couple of auctions.

stuff ending on tuesday hope it sells as i have my eye on a couple of coats for the dd's

mystuff again
[http://shop.ebay.co.uk/izzybelle159/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340 here it all is :)]

SNOWBall4girlz · 04/10/2010 10:08

here they are

try again :)

overthemill · 04/10/2010 10:10

thanks ohcobblers ! I need all the motivation i can get

it is possible you just have to be obsessively organised i think - even the 99p thinks add up - having discovered bundles i think that's the way to go.

mogs0 · 04/10/2010 13:51

Have given up on TL and listed these the old fashioned way!!

I should have started them this evening rather than during the day but I know I'll have no enthusiasm for ebaying by the time it gets dark! I hope they sell well, I'm super skint at the moment because I keep buying things Blush. I've put myself on a spending ban so hopefully I'll build up a bit of cash in PP to get me through the Winter months!!

mogs0 · 04/10/2010 22:40

Woohoo! I have a bid and a couple of watchers.

Could someone have a look at the black cosytoes and let me know if you think the photo is too dark please? I've really rushed all 4 listings but I'm hoping the Bugaboo things will encourage ebayers to look at my other items too Grin. I must get a few more things listed while they're running!

Tortoise · 05/10/2010 11:40

Ooops! I have been slacking! Grin Will try and do some listing this week. Smile

Hi ladies. I am a single mum who could do with some cash before Christmas. Are you folks just selling your own items from your own wardrobes etc. or do you buy stuff in to sell on? I used to sell items from my local designer retail outlet but couldn't make it pay much. I would like to start up selling again but am not sure where to start. Any advice would be great. Maybe I should have a good look around the house and see what there is here I could do without! Encouragement for this would be much appreciated! With many thanks. :-)

Tortoise · 05/10/2010 12:20

Hi Scottiedoggy. I am a single Mum too. Smile Generally i just sell outgrown clothes/toys but sometimes will pick something up cheap in a charity shop which i think will sell well. Bit naughty but it all helps!

OP posts:
overthemill · 05/10/2010 13:03

i don't buy things in cos that way would have to declare it for tax and don't want to go down that rod. these are all things i already owned and got tired of, outgrew.

mogs0 · 05/10/2010 13:16

Tortoise - thanks! I've had an offer of £25 for it, then she asked how much for the 2 so just waiting for a reply after I emailed how much I'd like for the 2 - fingers crossed!

mogs0 · 05/10/2010 13:22

Scottie - I'm currently selling things that are in my house - there are rather a lot of things in my house Blush!! I made £1000 last Christmas, though some things were ebayed for friends so not all money ended up in my pocket. Whilst the extra money would be quite handy at the moment I'm more excited about creating a bit of space when the things have been sold/posted. Also, I have so much 'saved' packaging it's unreal!

A long time ago I did buy things to sell on but made very little money for the effort put in.
