Oh! The mention of hycosy makes me remember something that might be useful. Not to most people on here, but I think there are a couple of people who might be early enough?
Hycosy is quite a painful procedure. Because I was referred for recurrent miscarriage testing on the NHS, I was given (for free) something else called a hysteriosalpingogram (trying spelling that out on the phone for the receptionists!
). It's almost totally painless - there's just a speculum, like a smear test, and nothing else. I think the machine must be very expensive and that's why private clinics don't do them. But my clinic was perfectly happy to accept the results of that test, instead of the hycosy.
So: if you are coming into this and might possibly be eligible for NHS testing, it's really worth doing. It might even be worth finding out how much this other test would cost to do privately, and if that's an option.
I'm mentioning this because I know some people really find the hycosy hard to tolerate and I wouldn't have known there was a painless alternative.
