This thread is for anyone trying to conceive... or thinking about doing so through donor IUI or donor IVF. Nothing TMI - feel free to join, we are a lovely group here to support and help keep the cray-cray away!

There is definitely some info missing but helps my little brain :)

PhoenixMama · 19/04/2017 21:32

Great work Pickle! I can stick it on Google docs if you want? Unless you want to do a calendar? You know, in your spare time!

pickle162 · 19/04/2017 21:35

I think the calendar is too tricky-unless we add that to google doc too and we all add our bits in.

pickle162 · 19/04/2017 21:54

Ok so today's worry..... so when I start my injections I am booked to go to the theatre on the 4day which will be when I have to inject the suprecur and also mix the Menopur and inject that too. I have to do them both at the same time on each day I have to do them but don't know how when in middle of London I can suddenly whip out and mix and injection....any advice for this I would greatly appreciate-do you think I should ring the theatre to see if there is a room I can go to or any good hot spots that I can go to to inject?
I was going to do injections about 8.30 so I'm always back from work and not too tired.....ahhhh don't know what to do

pickle162 · 19/04/2017 22:01

Bit worried the theatre won't allow me in with a sharps box and needles argh!!!

Pez82 · 19/04/2017 22:06

Where is the theatre? And do your meds need to be in the fridge?

If there is an hospital nearby you could use one of their large disable toilets as it will generally be cleaner than any other public toilet you can find.

I made sure I didn't book anything during my ivf treatment as I want to be at home for the daily ritual of injecting myself...

Pez82 · 19/04/2017 22:08

I meant using an hospital if you can do your injections before going to the theatre - an hour earlier or later won't make a difference, it's the trigger that needs to be timed perfectly

pickle162 · 19/04/2017 22:13

It's prince Edwards theatre Covent Garden/Shaftesbury avenue way.
At the mo I can change my times I'm planning so i think I'm going to try and ring theatre and see if I can use a room for 5mins or so and make them aware I'll have injections in advance and see if I can go in at like 7 or something, do that and then enjoy the show.
No thankfully only the pregnyl needs to be kept in the fridge
Totally didn't know dates when we booked the Theatre as totally want to be at home to do the injections....darn it!
I'll look up to see if any hospitals tho nearby that's a good idea
Ahhhhhh

PhoenixMama · 19/04/2017 22:18

Ok all - I slightly had to change Pickle's beautiful colours but I kept it as close as I could!

Here's the link: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16pIl4ymTAEelNC-4zhSi1EPy3reIw6HLYEvTtwK19sc/edit?usp=sharing

It's only accessible to those people who have the link... and changes happen in real time so try not to mess with it lol. I vote Pickle can be admin ;)

pickle162 · 19/04/2017 22:22

I can't edit it on my phone so as long as people can edit their own bit? I rarely turn the computer on at home-you were all privileged for this sporadic event :)

LewisFan · 19/04/2017 22:33

That's a fabulous document Grin

Thanks for adding me in too... made it rather real! I'm hoping to do the fertility assessment this summer Grin (need to save up!)

PhoenixMama · 19/04/2017 22:35

Yes everyone can update their own lines - but if anyone's having trouble just let me know and I can update it Grin

Munrowalker · 19/04/2017 22:51

@shoes @Karen @hopeful would u mind telling me how many iuis you did before you got your BFP?

pickle162 · 19/04/2017 22:56

No worries Lewis :) I'm hoping I didn't miss anyone out
I may need you to update mine Phoenix when the time comes :)

PhoenixMama · 19/04/2017 22:58

I might be able to do that Pickle Wink

Snorkmaiden85 · 19/04/2017 23:09

Oh lordy I'm so behind again, crazy busy day at work....

phoenix I've been meaning to come on the thread all day to wish you a happy birthday! I was just lying in the bath and remembered I hadn't! Sorry it's so late, I hope you've had a lovely day so far, and the last 50 minutes are bloomin' marvellous Smile CakeFlowers

I love the spreadsheet Pickle and am honoured to be included! Will update my line. Feeling frustrated today as June feels about a billion years away.... But it's good to see the days ticking down on my app, slowly but surely.

Will catch up with the rest of the thread as i skim read it quickly so I can wish phoenix happy birthday while it still officially is :)

INeedNewShoes · 19/04/2017 23:42

Happy Birthday Phoenix Smile I hope you've had a nice day.

Love the spreadsheet Pickle Grin

Karendvm · 20/04/2017 00:15

Wonderful spreadsheet! I'll have to figure out how to update it as I usually am using my phone or iPad. I'll sort it out.

munro this is my 4th iui. But my third positive. Last year this time I miscarried my first iui at 9 weeks. It was a mmc and detected at my 10 week scan. The second iui was a negative. The third a positive but ended in an early mc. I think because of my stress at the time and I was handling chemo drug for my dog. So this is my fourth. And I'm over 11 weeks. Things I did differently this time - didn't pay so much attention to the whole process. I was feeling down about everything and just thought it was as good a time as any. I didn't try to fit in acupuncture appts like before. I also lied about my surge, a page taken from taydex. I sort of guessed when I would be surging. My clinic has this stupid rule that you have to report a surge by 10am and then your iui is scheduled the next day. So if you get a surge mid afternoon then you report it the next day and have an iui the day after that. Well. After lots of discussion on this thread I felt that that was too long. Because I always surge in the afternoon. So the day I tested at 10am and the line got a bit darker but wasn't quite there, I reported it and had my iui the next day. My logic was my eggs are older than the donors sperm, so I would rather have the sperm waiting than an egg waiting. Does that make sense? I know this wasn't your question. Lol. I think taydex did sort of the same.

So 4 iuis, 3bfps. I hope that will be it for me but 6 more worrisome months to go.

Bear1980 · 20/04/2017 05:54

Brilliant thanks for doing the spreadsheet pickle and thanks got loading it phoenix. Never used goohle docs before. Its great

PhoenixMama · 20/04/2017 06:42

Karen Thanks for the info on your fib to the clinic. I've been wondering exactly the same thing about rather sperm waiting than egg. In my previous pregnancies I've dtd only before I ov'd & got knocked up. When I dtd times to ovulation I spent months not getting pg. I was thinking about fibbing too but thought they might scan me. As you said, my eggs aren't spring chickens & I would rather the young sperm did all the work! Really helpful thanks!

PhoenixMama · 20/04/2017 07:59

I just went to purchase my magic potion and didn't realise there was VAT on top! There's another £200!

pickle162 · 20/04/2017 08:03

Yup VAT totally sucks 😣

PaisleyBE · 20/04/2017 08:18

Hello ladies, I'm SO late to this party. :) I've been catching up with the thread no.6, not done yet. I was totally away for the whole month of March - early vacation with my mom in Australia and back home. I left when the thred 6 was barely few pages long and I come back and there's a new one! :) But that's a good sign that you've all been busy.

Congratulations to all bfps and pregnancies and fingers crossed for everyone waiting for the next cycle.

I know it might be sillly to introduce myself this late in the thread, but I'm gonna do it anyway.
Single, 30 (for two more weeks), living in Brussels.
Doing my first IUI in Denmark in app. 2 weeks (AF should show up any day now).

I got all my tests done here with my OBGYN, she detected a minor thyroid problem, so I have meds for that.
In the meantime, while waiting for May to arrive, I have been making sure that my dental situation is okay. And as a result I'm heading for a wisdom tooth extraction this afternoon. Trying not to be too much worried about it as this is my third wt to be taken out and I know what to expect, but still.

Gee, I didn't mean to start off with a long post. Anyway, I'm glad to be back among you, lovely ladies.

P.S.: I LOVE the spreadsheet!

INeedNewShoes · 20/04/2017 08:40

Phoenix - how much is the donor sperm costing you all in all?

When I bought mine via my clinic no VAT was added to their stated prices, so the donor sperm (contactable donor but not extended profile) was £280.

INeedNewShoes · 20/04/2017 08:43

Munro - this pregnancy is the result of my 4th IUI. I actually got BFPs on the first three as well but two of those were chemical pregnancies (= a miscarriage before 5 weeks) and the other one ended in a MMC at 11 weeks (turns out I've got three blood anomalies which is probably why I couldn't sustain the earlier pregnancies...).
