Hey ladies, hope you all had a lovely Easter and a good long weekend! 🐣
Sorry I've been MIA ^again... I'm rubbish at replying to my best friend and my family, too!
I have so much to say because I've read back from where I left off, but I don't want to regurgitate "old news"!
This is likely to be a mammoth post because I have so much to catch up on, so I apologise in advance...
Pickle you are correct; I have my wisdom teeth removal under general anaesthetic on the 2nd May (the local anaesthetic doesn't work for extractions for some reason!) so there will be a triple countdown as I'm nervous - I don't want to lose feeling in my lower lip (they warned me it's a possibility) 😩
Karen great news about your scan. I'm so pleased everything is progressing "normally" and healthily!
How far along are you now? It sounds like you have a great obgyn who will look after you both too!
Oh, and I totally understand you breaking down and scanning yourself at work. I would've caved long before you!!
Happy belated birthday Stork, and happy birthday for tomorrow Phoenix!
Pez, your bladder pains sounded so painful and so scary 😞 I'm glad you went and got it checked out and got your mind put at rest, even though it's horrible! I'm also glad you haven't experienced it since... You can be our designated unspoken-about-pregnancy-symptoms spokesperson 😁
Welcome bunny and lewis.
Lewis; sorry your parents weren't so receptive. To begin with, when I first started thinking about going solo two and a half years ago, my parents weren't either. Now, they're all for it and can't wait for their first grandbaby! My grandparents were even more understanding and accepted it straight off the bat, and I had to tell my Nan I weren't going to Australia with her and my Grandad next year because of it... And they were totally fine! I thought (naively, and perhaps a little stubbornly) that the older the person, the less likely they were to accept and understand the concept. Totally not the case! So I agree with Shoes - speak about it if and when you want and to whom you want because the majority of reactions you'll get are likely to be positive.
Miri, just quickly - I think it's wrong that they may not be counting your DP's ectopic pregnancy as an unsuccessful attempt. In the majority of clinics I've looked at (and I've looked at loads), a successful attempt is only when you have a live birth. I.E, if you pay for a package deal thingy, and have an ectopic/MC on the first attempt, say, you'd still be entitled to your remaining attempts because it's not considered successful as it wasn't a live birth. If that makes sense?
Not unless it's the Clinical Commissioning Group putting their two pennies worth in...
Hi to everyone else!
