I'm distinctly "meh" about it going ahead. I think it's premature and won't be a true contest because of the lottery as to which teams might get the virus and/or pass it on to the other teams, given the proximity and exertion of the peloton.

Only feasible approach would have been to have every stage as either team or individual time trials - but then it wouldn't have been the Tour

It'll change the tactics I think, no leaving it until the last week if you don't know if there will be one. Also do the organisers think they'll be able to stop crowds of people gathering to watch?

It's tricky, n'est-ce pas? Finance, prestige, continuity Vs an unquantifiable public health risk. And woe-betide any govt that bans the TdF. Unelectable for generations!.

In the news this morning that France has an "undeniable surge" in cases. Wondering if the race will last 3 weeks!

SDTG , my car is a 21 year old Toyota Corolla, cost me £500 3 years ago, and passed the MOT earlier this month with no issues, perfect body work. In Oct we will be driving to the Isle of Skye in it.

Nonetheless, my darling DD would not, (and I cant stress this enough) be seen dead driving my car. She barely tolerates me giving her lifts in it. She does not consider it to be (checks notes) " a proper car."

I am safe enough.........until she gets really desparate.

Looking at the first week.....if it ends prior to next weekend we're looking at a puncheur picking up the prize. The flat and hilly routes would cancel out the one lumpy bit on Stage 2.

Unfortunately I have made no provision for this possibility in my team selection.

Ok - I've managed to submit a team (I think) and join the mini league. I was so esoteric in my choices (ie low on value ) that I had enough points left over to add Bernal as my Wildcard choice
