There's been a few times where people have been out in pubs and rang / text the pretend profiles and people saw her phone lighting up and her replying. There was also the time somebody turned up at her work after she had catfished him and then pretended that she was going out with him to people she knew in real life. It's 100% her but I don't think there'd be evidence that would hold up in court unless they just confiscate her devices or get instagram involved to trace back the profiles.

It made the News at One today.

I thought that was a bit hypocritical of the two johnnies to be honest

They said they asked for a welfare check on her to see if she was OK.

Yet they then released a part 3 of the podcast which they knew was going to make her get abuse.

They released part 3 because she was still at it. She had also accused a real life man of sexually assaulting her and had said she got an abortion! (To those who didn't listen, one of her fake profiles was texting a man, saying a GAA player she had once gone out with had sexually assaulted her). She was also robbing pictures of somebody's child and sharing them on her fake profiles!

They gave her every opportunity to stop but she never did. They were dead right to let people know she was still at it and was getting more serious.

In this day and age surely it would not take much to prove she was the guilty party or for her to prove she is innocent? I mean it is the internet, there has to be proof somewhere either way!

Evidence for us on social media/general public is different to in court. The guards are not going to take her phone and laptop and find all of the accounts she made. They just don’t have the time. Yes what she has done is awful in my opinion but ‘public interest’ and ‘serious crime which warrants serious Garda time/manpower/tech’ are two different things. She is clever going after the school on their procedures and due process. She is not going after the 2J’s to prove she’s not the catfish. She’s going after the school to say they don’t have any hard evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt in a legal setting that she is. The school are bringing the disciplinary against her so the onus is on them to prove that she’s the catfish, which they probably won’t be able to do.

The head of school said that she admitted to it but Niamh is now refuting this, I don’t think the school will have much to stand on unless they pull something out of the bag and surprise/delight us! She will go on indefinite sick and never move on to another school (she knows no one would hire her).

MadeForThis · 26/03/2025 20:04

She hasn't broken the law- yet - so the guards have no reason the investigate or get a warrant to inspect her devices.

The school have to prove that she is the Gaa catfish if they want to continue the disciplinary. They won't have the time or funds to do this. And without a statement from the 2 Johnnies or some other proof they won't be able to prove it.

She could just get away with it. But I can't imagine the parents at the school will stay quiet. Or the pupils.

Psychoticbreak · 26/03/2025 20:51

But what if she is innocent? I mean there is also that possibility.

I've listened to the 3 of them twice and in my opinion there's absolutely zero chance she's not the catfish.

She is not innocent. She’s been caught doing this in secondary school and in college. She just moves friend group/job/location and starts up again. There are endless groups of people who are all connected to her in some way that have had their likeness/name/insta pics used, or they’ve been contacted by fake accounts. The common denominator between everyone is her.

The pub incident where she was pictured talking to the barman about her county player boyfriend (when this guy was talking to a fake account) and her phone lighting up when messages were sent to the fake account, plus obviously the Johnny who had breakfast and got driven home by her are the best proof imo. Nobody else has ever been implicated or suspected online and the 2J’s have never felt the need to clarify that it’s not her (because it is).

Psychoticbreak · 26/03/2025 23:24

Ah ok I genuinely dont know a whole lot clearly but only even listened to all podcasts in like the last month. I am Irish but I never was into podcasts and only friends sent me links to the Johnnies I would still be oblivious like. So thanks for the info.
If and it looks like she really is that person but if she is/was/ etc christ like how many hours of your life do you need to waste away doing this instead of living? Also why? Like is there an endgame is there a reward or a medal? It totally baffles me.

Where did you read about this?

loropianalover · 27/03/2025 13:16

@Burish When the 3rd pod came out there was loads of videos on TikTok, girls who went to school with her who had their names used as fake accounts, their Instagram pics used and photoshopped, people on her course had stories about her trying to catfish a tutor at the college. In school she told everyone she was texting Eoghan Quigg from X Factor 🤣 Eoghan even commented on videos himself obviously saying he never knew her and laughing about it.

deeahgwitch · 27/03/2025 15:10

Whoever it is, they need help. Sad
it’s not normal behaviour.

At this stage I'm leaning toward her being more bad than mad!

Yes but it'd be naive to think the two johnnies just did it to raise awareness.

They did it, as it's a good story, and it also gets the two johnnies a lot of attention in the media.

The gaa catfish is their most streamed podcast ever.

PurpleDiva22 · 30/03/2025 21:10

@Abbygabby87 oh of course they did it for that reason, definitely the first episode anyway, but episode three they actually sounded really pissed off that this nutjob was still at this shit.

According to the Irish Independent app the school has dropped the disciplinary action against the school teacher who claims she was wrongly identified as the GAA catfish @PurpleDiva22

Her lawyer said he couldn't confirm she was wrongly identified, just that the school had dropped the disciplinary action.

Yes, exactly. When I hear the barrister's statement yesterday it was really obvious that it IS her but the school don't have enough evidence etc to continue with their case. It was cleverly worded. She desperately needs help and to be stopped. I wonder why her family can't do some sort of intervention?

PurpleDiva22 · 10/04/2025 13:50

@LifeInAHamsterWheel I imagine it's way too far for family intervention. Id say she either has them warped into believing some bullshit story or else they keep her at arms length!

I would imagine her parents are terrified that she could hurt herself. Everyone locally and nationally knows who she is. She'll never get another job in teaching after this. She's very young to be dealing with this social media onslaught. But then she caused it all herself.

By all accounts this has been happening since she was a teenager. She needs help.
