She is still working and nothing will happen yet again. She works in Knocklyn.

I think there's investigations being done behind the scenes. There will also be a push to make a law around catfishing

Yeah everyone knows who she is and where she works.

But she hasn't been charged or fired with anything.

The law can be strange.

Enoch burke got fired for going up to and harassing the head teacher in his school

This nicky has been harassing loads of people online, but yet she is still considered safe to work with children.

There is also a blurred line on is catfishing a crime.

Online harassment and stalking is a crime.

But catfishing is not. I think because the security on social media and dating sites is so lax , how can they control it. Anyone can go on tinder and give themselves a different name, age and photo for example.

Did you see the latest update. The person identified online has denied that it was her.

And she has taken out an injunction against her school to stop a disciplinary process.

If it is the Catfish, I wouldn't put it past her to do that, play it out, etc... she's already proven how utterly insanely far from reality she is.... I guess it wouldn't be too much of a stretch... I feel the 2 Johnnies will have done their DD to cover their asses and wouldn't have come out with it all without the background facts.

Oh the other hand, how awful if this person has been simply caught up in the whole mess incorrectly!

It's definitely her, she's either loving the attention or is clutching at straws trying to save her job. She's talking about there being no evidence it's her, but there's plenty, it's just not all out in the public domain. She also says there's no investigation into her, but just because the police don't have a criminal case against her it doesn't mean she hasn't done all these awful things. I think of you have falsely accused real people of abuse and SA, even if you're pretending to be someone else, it raises serious questions about your fitness to practice as an educator, and definitely brings the school into disrepute.

She's clearly unwell and delusional to do this in the first place - and remains so or will become even more so under pressure.

Yes, this is my question, without having listened to any of the podcasts— the Irish Times reports a named woman who sought legal recourse to temporarily halt a disciplinary action at the school she teaches at. The Head said she’d told him it was her, acc to the Irish Times. She says she only told him that she was the one the rumours were circulating about. But has this woman actually been established as the catfish? Was she named in the podcast? Or is this a de facto trial by sm?

Buy haven't a few of her victims met her so they can easily identify if this teacher is her or not

I don't think the police and garda welfare checks would have been done if it wasn't her, the two johnnies did that because they knew it was her and that other people knew too. If it wasn't her I think they would have said something about one person being singled out in error. But aside from that, a guy saw her in a bar lying about going out with a guy he knew, and her phone pinging away as his mate was messaging the profile she was pretending to be!

It's a difficult one.

The two johnnies should be allowed to talk about what happened to him.

But I think them doing three podcasts about this woman was a bit too much.

I thought that was a bit hypocritical of the two johnnies to be honest

They said they asked for a welfare check on her to see if she was OK.

Yet they then released a part 3 of the podcast which they knew was going to make her get abuse.

I think the third podcast was only made because she's not only still at it, but had started accusing real people of actual crimes. A lot of people probably thought that it was over and done with but it seems she was as prolific as ever. Obviously it makes for plenty of exposure for the two johnnies but I think making people aware of her continued activity is important. The amount of damage she is doing is unreal. She's clearly a very mentally unwell person but that doesn't get her off the hook for what she's doing. Also posting pictures of someone else's kids on your Facebook as if you're in a relationship with their dad is just so f*cked up, she's messing with people's families now. She's harassing people when they try to cut contact as well, it's all just such despicable behaviour.

I could be wrong with the timeline. I'll check again. But i thought part 3 talked about things that happened in the past, not now.

It was just that the 2 johnnies heard about a new man that the gaa catfish happened to. But it was in the past.

I agree that her behaviour was awful. But she is far from the only catfish in ireland. Maybe it would have been better if they talked about catfishing in general and use a couple of different cases on the podcast

Rather than talk about one person .

I think she was wrong for sure. But talking about one person is also going to make that one person get a huge amount of abuse

I just looked at the Sunday independent online.

There's very unflattering photo of the alleged woman on it today. Journalists were talking to her outside her school

I think it was brave of the the 2 Johnies to go public. He must feel a fool falling for it - so talking about it publicly might wellhave been excrutiating. There must be many more of her victims who havent spoken up maybe feeling foolish - or worse being deeply hurt by the duplicity.

Many women falling for romance scams and being bled dry of money dont speak out. I think they have done a good piece of public education.

I wonder how this alleged woman got identified.

The two johnnies never identified her.

I wonder does anyone have any hard evidence that it is this woman.

She is denying it is her.

If it was her, she's going to deny it. If it wasn't her , she's going to deny it.

But if there isnt any concrete evidence, the school can't fire her

Whoever she is, she's a very big and irreversible digital footprint created now. If it came to it, the cyber forensics would have a chunky file of stuff there.

She has met some of these people in real life. They know what she looks life from pictures of herself that she posted on fake profiles.

The 2 Johnnies have been silent since this court case came out.

I imagine if the wrong person had been identified and was going to lose her teaching job they would have been very vocal that this was an innocent woman.

The silence speaks volumes.
