Yes I've listened to the podcast. She made fake profiles. Big deal. Men do that all the time.

I think the two johnnies were very wrong to do what they did. They needed something to fill their podcast time. This girl will get death threats now.

It's not men v women.

I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy - that men make fake multiple fake profiles ALL the time. No one says anything.

A woman does it - and she is national news.

It's bullshit.

This must be the catfish herself , hi 👋 🙃

She falsely accused a gaa player of raping Her ? She's gone way beyond just catfishing , are you for real like?

I am "for real like".

Where is the part about the false rape accusation?

I listened to the podcast and I didn't hear anything about a rape.

It just said in detail that she made multiple fake profiles.

After you wrote that , I googled "gaa catfish rape" and it didn't bring up anything.

So where did you see that?

How deeply intelligent of you.

Not.

Are you angry at all the men who make fake profiles.

Or just at this woman?

I just think the double standards in ireland are disgusting.

I didn't "see' it anywhere, it's mentioned in part 3 that she told one of her victims that another gaa player sexually assaulted her and beat her up in work. Might be worth having another listen for yourself before you go defending her. Not to mention later in part 3 she was sharing pictures of her victims child 😳 but she's harmless right?

Did I say she's harmless?

No I didn't.

I said there are huge amounts of men making fake profiles in ireland.

So why is this one woman getting so much more attention for what she did.

It's a double standard

Applecharm25 · 18/01/2025 17:26

If you go on a Facebook page . It's called "are we seeing the same guy - dublin"

Women on the page - ask questions about men on tinder that they're thinking of going on a date on.

its a page set up for safety purposes.

There are so many replies on the page saying "that's a fake photo. That man's name is not john, its james and he is not from dublin, he is a model from the USA'.

Loada of the irish men's photos on tinder are fake. They take photos of male models and pretend to be them

Do these men go around accusing others of rape ? If this was a man doing what she's doing then there would be much bigger repercussions, she's getting off lightly

Right well I hadn't heard the part about the rape accusations.

I thought I'd heard the whole thing, but it seems like i've seen a shortened version of it on YouTube.

There is an interview with the two johnnies on YouTube where he talks about all the multiple fake profiles in depth, but he doesn't mention rape accusations.

Thats the version that I watched

You need to listen to it in full on Spotify, that's where the full story is , including the rape allegations

So you didn't listen to the podcast then. None of part 3 is on YouTube, they specifically said at the start of the podcast they wouldn't be putting any of it on YouTube. Men can be disgusting pricks for setting up fake tinder profiles AND "Nikki" can be disgusting for everything she has done. It's not double standards, both things can be true! She has gotten away with this for years and years and years, this needed to be highlighted. Would you not be happy that the men in your life are potentially protected from this nutcase as a result of the podcast, or are you a classic man-hating Mumsnet user?

Eek I just looked up the two johnnies podcast part 3, as I think that's the part that I didn't hear.

It's an hour and ten minutes! It's very long for a part 3.

I don't have time to listen to that tonight. I'll try and get through it tomorrow.

I just listened to the very start of the part 3 there. The start of it is a bit odd though.

He say ireland is small, and he doesn't want to make a witch hunt of her,

and when people expressed concern about her wellbeing, he got the police to do a wellness check on her before He did part 3.

So it seems a bit odd that they would do such a detailed and in depth part 3 about her, if they were concerned about her wellbeing..I dont know.

Anyway I'll listen to the rest of it tomorrow

@Applecharm25 you need to listen to the actual podcast before being so confident in your opinions.

I did listen to the podcast. He has done a shortened version of the same podcast on YouTube.

It's only now that I see there is a much much longer podcast.

Who has time to listen to three parts of a podcast.

The third part is 1 hour and ten minutes! They dragged that out.

And why are you so aggressive! I didn't fucking do anything to anyone. So lay off me.

I pointed out the fact that men in ireland make fake profiles ALL the time. This does happen. Maybe we should be calling them out on it too.

This case got more publicity simply because the two johnnies have a high profile.

Applecharm25 · 18/01/2025 18:13

But it happens to so many people, is my point.

My friend was recently catfishes by a man in Dublin. He made multiple profiles, and he used photos of male models from the USA.

Mummyindublin · 18/01/2025 18:14

Then isn't it great that these two guys with a high profile are putting a spotlight on this horrendous behaviour? Man or woman, it's not ok!

Yes it's good in one way.

Obviously her behaviour was atrocious.

But ireland is a small country: if you look on tiktok: her name is everywhere. The name of where she works at is everywhere. It's turned into a trend and a witch hunt. Which is not great.

People are making tiktok dances and laughing at her.

I don't think it was dealt with well.

Honestly what are you on about? “Huge amounts of men” make fake profiles and catfish women? Based on what?? This is a really strange justification. I’ve never known anyone to be catfished by all these men apparently doing it.

You can’t carry out this shitty behaviour and then expect total anonymity and the story not being shared. The people she lied to are entitled to share their story.

As I said, i joined sn Irish facebook group 2 years ago

The Facebook group is called:

"Are we seeing the same guy - dublin'.

This page was set up as a safety procedure, where women talk about men's tinder profiles.

It was started in America as a safety idea. And now there is a page for each country. There is now one for ireland. And it's very active

So a woman will post a photo of a man she is talking to on tinder. And they will ask have any other women heard anything good or bad about this person.

If you look at the page, there are so many posts where women ask about a man.
And someone will reply that it's a fake profile.

Eg. A woman will say "I'm chatting to this man john 35 single from meath" does anyone know anything about him, or been chatting to him?"

And someone will reply. "His name is not john. That man's name is Dave . He's friends with my cousin. I think someone has stolen his photo to make a fake tinder profile'

or theyll say. "Thats a fake profile. I searched that image for you and its not john in dublin, its a male model in USA with a different name

Go on that Facebook page - if you want to see how many tinder profiles are fake in ireland. There are loads.

It’s incredibly obvious that you haven’t even listened to this story so why you think you can even pass comment with hardly any info is astounding.

What has your post got to do with what I've written.

What you've said there has absolutely nothing to do with what I've just said. So what are you on about.

She said "large amounts of men catfish women? Really"

And I said yes. And I've shown her where she can see that large amounts of men have catfished women in ireland.

What has me listening to the podcast got to do with that? I've already said I haven't listened to the end of the podcast. So you haven't "got me".

It's also funny that you wrote "it's incredibly obvious that you haven't listened to the full podcast". Like you caught me out or something. I should think it's obvious. Seeing as I wrote it myself! Do you want me to write it again? I haven't listened to the end of the podcast! It's very very long!

We were talking about men catifishing women in huge numbers in ireland. Which they do
