Slightly off topic but those shocked that the Gardai could do such a thing, I would urge you to also have a read of the case of Patrick Nugent, a young man killed after working a party for Gardai. They are rotten to the core.

Have just seen that he has been released without charge. Search of the lands continuing.

The Dalkey House of Horrors story is horrendous

I went to school in Dalkey and don't know this one. I don't know whether I want to Google tbh.

I would have been surprised if he was charged at this stage. Unless the search of the land shows up something it would be very difficult to see how they would have enough evidence to charge him after 29 years.

All you have to do is go onto Twitter and you will know who it is within a minute can't remove everything from the internet

@Onehorsetown very true. Here's hoping that if he really is the man who did this, they can find her and finally return her to her family.

Interesting to note that this particular man's father only died in 2022. It would make you wonder if that's why this is all coming up now.

The name is one thing but I think the speculation about a scar is quite another.

Maybe I'm naive but if it did cross Leo's desk how would he be held responsible. Surely it goes way back to the FG leader at the time?

They said he has been released but didn't say file being sent to the DPP.... where does this leave him? IF he didn't do it then this is terrible speculation about him. I believe he has teenage children - horrendous for the family if there is no truth in it.

I would think it went beyond that, possibly into the next 20 or so years. In which case it would be a political scandal that most would run from.

John Bruton was Taoiseach at the time and Nora Owen Minister for Justice. I've just read that Nora Owen met with the family in 1997 and they requested the gardai search the farm in question and she claimed she had no influence to request this. As Minister for Justice.

Why? They are both identifying details.

His name is more identifying than the scar. If I put his name here, which i could, people could go and look him up. I didn't put gis name here because i realise that it is too identifying.

However, If I write about his scar here, which I did, people can't find him by that information,as it is less identifying.

The people on X who said that the scar could possibly have been caused by Jojo are not just speculating from nowhere.

Some of them are local people who remember this particular man having cuts and scratches on him right after Jojo went missing. So it's relevant.

Why arrest him question him and release him.

Surely after all this time, if they had enough information to arrest him, they have had enough information to charge him

Yeah but I'm saying what's the point in arresting him now after all this time. If they didn't have enough new evidence to do anything.

As far as I know he has been interviewed before.

Yes he has. But apparently there was meant to be new evidence

Couldn't the police have just called him in to help them with their enquiries.

Unless he refused to go, then maybe that's why they sought an arrest.

It's rough. It involves a lot of cruel corrupt men and women too.
