I remember Dolores o riordan (cranberries ) said something similiar.

She was born in Limerick and she later moved to Canada.

She said that she wanted to bring her daughter up in Canada, that she would never bring her daughter up in Ireland, because there was such a lack of respect towards women in Ireland.

Dolores also said that she been sexually abused herself as a child in Ireland.

DeanElderberry · 14/11/2024 15:05

Canada? highly amusing I'm sure, but I can't take you seriously after that.

What? What on earth are you talking about?

What's amusing about Canada?

And there's nothing at all amusing about what we are talking about. We are talking about a serious topic: the safety of women.

Im not sure what you're "amused" about.

You still haven't explained what you were on about.

Im totally confused!

Well said.

I reported Lisanoonan's posts last night, but MN don't seem to think it's a problem.

MyHouseIsABusStop · 15/11/2024 00:46

This thread has gone waaaay off tangent! Anyone heard any updates on the search of the farm in Wicklow? Are they still searching? Strange there's been no real update since he was released

Im so delighted that sense has won!

Because there isn't a problem of course.

Anyone can report any post that they want, but if the post doesn't break mumsnet guidelines, they won't delete them.

And my posts were totally fine.

Me too.

Why exactly? Other than to hop on your little friend's bandwagon.

As you can see, mumsnet have not removed one of my posts.

So maybe it is you two - that are the problem

She's not my friend, I'm not aware that we've ever interacted before under these usernames. I reported you before @LiteralNightmare did as well. I have explained why - I was concerned that the level of speculation risks jeopardising any trial.

Okay. It doesn't.

I've already posted to you that this information is already out there on every single forum.

If you look at reddit, twitter, tiktok, the photo of this man's scar is on there.

If you look at www.boards.ie which is irelands largest chat forum, the photo of this man's scar is on there. His fathers name is on there

It doesnt jeapordise any case. He was already known as a suspect as well.

But we can move on.

I would like JoJo 's case to be solved, as much as anyone else.

I would love for her to get justice.

I've been checking the news every day for an update... but it seems to have just gone away... again

DeanElderberry · 15/11/2024 17:32

They are still searching the site. I was afraid there might have been some attempt to shut it all down until after the election. If a hole was dug, ground penetrating radar will show where the disturbance was.

Watching Nora Owen on RTÉ1 now talking about Fingal and giving her the side eye

Is she not dead ?
I know her sister Mary Banotti died.

JaneJeffer · 15/11/2024 17:45

Not as far as I'm aware 👀

halfpasteleven · 15/11/2024 21:37

I hope they uncover something this time on that land.

How long will they search it for I wonder?

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 16/11/2024 08:40

Said on news yesterday they will continue to dig all weekend and expect to carry on into middle of next week.
They just might find something 🤞🏻
I know it wouldn't be justice for Josephine but at least her family would have her remains.

DublinFemale · 16/11/2024 16:43

I think at this stage bringing her home to her family would be enough.

Even if they find a body there will little evidence left,

deeahgwitch · 17/11/2024 09:11

I'm praying they get closure.
Poor Jo Jo.
Her father died before she was born and her mother died when she was only 9, so an orphan.
I hope her childhood was as happy as could be in the circumstances.
Life can be so cruel.

I have a forensic archaeologist friend who has worked on lots of searches for longterm missing people thought to be buried in a particular place -- even with much better information (for instance she's looked for IRA 'disappeared' when those who were involved in their murders were brought out of prison to show them the spot), it's still a more difficult and involved process that one might think when a lot of time has passed, on large areas of land, and when there have been legitimate reasons why the ground may have been disturbed, like agriculture and building work. She's always very aware of a family in longterm agony in the background. I'm very much hoping they find JoJo's body.
