There was no misinformation the electorate didn't want what the government was selling...

There wasn't much information at all though. And it was completely rushed. I agree people didn't want the proposals but that is not the way it should have been done. Still, at least it's given that cunt Ronán Mullen an unexpected rte platform now. Yay 😁

Jeepers the mainstream media have changed their tune🤣

Oh wow - Ronan Mullen is representing me!!

Helengreggregson · 09/03/2024 16:31

@GráMná i work and my child attends Creche but I totally agree with you about childcare options it’s a joke. Women should be given more choices regarding childcare options. The children’s allowance is so little really, with the cost of living crisis going on.

Iloveshihtzus · 09/03/2024 16:33

I also dislike the hatred of Ronan Mullen - he is very well spoken.

If people were uninformed, it was because the government did not inform them. a tiny leaflet at the 11th hour. And my estate was missed out mysteriously. People should be incredibly cautious when it comes to changing the constitution, it is literally the foundation on which the country is built. The government fucked up massively and assumed we were all idiots and they can take their medicine now

Did anyone else not even get the leaflet? I got my voting card and that was it

I couldn't be arsed getting involved. Let them think what they like.

I didn't get one. Had to look it up, pointless and all as it was. And it was my whole estate, not just my house.

It’s not how he speaks. It’s what he says.

I didn't get on either. I read one of my parents' ones. They got lots for some reason.

(I'd also read it online before that as soon as the wording was released, as I had been waiting ages for it and getting increasingly pissed off at how long it was taking.)

Well spoken means absolutely nothing. Anyone can be well spoken. That excuse for a 'man' hates women. He is a vile, rotten pig. Remember Repeal people! Remember what was said about women who had abortions. Do not let this be a rehabilitation for this type of dick.

Why is the count taking so long? I could actually understand if Dun Laoighaire and Rathdown (when did they spilt?) had taken a bit longer as the results were so close. But they are the among fastest to declare.

Papers keep floating away on the wave of tears?

It is odd isn't it? There's not much motivation maybe, few bothered to give up their Saturday (or they've all gone to watch the rugby match)?

Think its since 2016 that they've been split as electoral areas but its still Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown council

I didn't get anything.

I emailed the commission asking why they were not ensuring all homes had leaflets

They stated they sent out 1.1 million leaflets and it was online.

I then pointed out that it was condescending and disrespectful to assume everyone could use the internet.

They asked for my address to send it.

I've been missing in action all day! Going to catch now on all the goings on🤣🥂🍾
I'd say Mary Lou & SF are kicking themselves for taking the virtue signalling road. They would be having great celebrations now had they endorsed No No!!

The Irish Times have a really good map of the vote outcome,

I love seeing red!

"O’Connor said the Women’s Council has taken the view that political parties campaigning for a Yes Yes vote did not mobilise enough on the ground.
“There is a real need for our political parties to look at what’s happened today,” she said.
O’Connor also argued that there was confusion over the wording. "

Didnt the NWCI have employees canvassing all over the country?

Women's council 'deeply disappointed' and Tom Clonan says he's 'really relieved' at Care result

Senator Clonan said now Ireland must act to legislate and vindicate the rights of disabled citizens.
