So, will Michael McDowell run for the Aras? I think he's quite likely to after this. I always hated the PDs and had no love of McDowell, at all. But to give him his due he did a really good job on this.

(I think he's a bit terfy too.)

VoteNONO · 09/03/2024 19:21

As expected Leo is standing by O Gorman 🙄

Please God. He was a huge driving force for the No campaign with his legal experience & common sense.

Well that's probably the kiss of death anyway 😂

I thought O'Gorman was really struggling to speak on the 6.01. He was repeatedly stumbling over his words. He seems genuinely shook.

Sums it up in a nutshell!

Brilliant, even more poignant on IWD and Mother's Day.

Leave us mammies alone.

I just saw it live. He kept repeating his words and falling over them. It was from his prepared statement, rather than the Q&A. He stumbled all over it.

DanielGault · 09/03/2024 19:50

I'm waiting for the nine o'clock now. Should be fun.

DublinFemale · 09/03/2024 19:52

That is just misrepresentation he was stoic and brave.

@DublinFemale I'm just relieved they have all informed us they won't be running it again.. 23 million ffs! Yes complete misinformation about his stoicism, he looks & sounds shellshocked like he actually believed they were going to swing it🤣

@DublinFemale Almost as brave as when he had to stand before an empty Dáil to deliver his International Women's Day speech 🤣🤣

Don't think he'll ever be brave enough to get a Transwoman to preach to us lesser women again on IWD or any other day for that matter🤣

Absolute arrogance of him!

Has Mary Lou? She must be absolutely kicking herself for not opposing it. SF would be swinging from the rafters tonight if they had as they could claim it as their victory and immediately call for an election.

DublinFemale · 09/03/2024 20:05

She is waffling but also ignored the comments at Dublin Castle at people telling her we said no.

DublinFemale · 09/03/2024 20:10

On another topic, what is this about another referendum in June?

I'm exhausted, I can't be dealing with round 2.

I'll look at it Monday.

DeanElderberry · 09/03/2024 20:13

The June one is something about patent law. No idea why it needs to be in the constitution (something about relationships between Irish and international law), but I suspect we'll be told a lot more about it that we were about these ones.

It's about patents. I have no idea what to think about it yet.

I've been saying the same to my husband. I was disgusted to hear her say they were unhappy with the wording yet they would still advocate a yes vote, obviously virtue signalling.

Obviously as opposition especially if you don't agree with wording to change constitution you advocate for No.

What a huge missed opportunity for the traitors. Aontú need to get credit here as they really are opposition in the proper sense. They didn't once change or back down from their stance.

Sinn Féin would be painting the town red now with their celebrating had they done their job as opposition!

Oh the usual namechanger has appeared on the other thread. Strange how some people get their kicks.
