I'm in hospital after getting my appendix taken out. I heard the lady in the bed opposite talking on the phone. After lamenting the fall that landed her in hospital, she told the person on the other end that so and so had died 😄.

Hope you're ok @Taytocrisps DH was very ill years ago when his burst. He found no craic in the hospital at all. I think I'd enjoy all the people-watching (provided I wasn't seriously sick!)

May I be the first to say that we're starting to see a bit of a stretch in the evenings?! I know it's been freezing but the bit of sunshine is so welcome. Just need to get Paddy's Day over and we can start to look forward to summer 😁

Thanks so much for the get well wishes lovely Craicnetters. They discharged me this morning. I'm glad to be home but also a bit dazed - it all happened so fast. I was in work on Friday and there wasn't a bother on me.

@Happierwithouthim DD's boyfriend was here when I got home. They're all loved up 🙄. I had to text her to get her to make me a cuppa. Ah no, she's a good kid really. We're going to watch a movie later - if I can stay awake. And she's taking tomorrow off college, to care for me. She also got her friend to buy me a lovely soft fleece blanket 'cos her friend works in a home furnishing store and gets a discount (she refunded the friend).

@LifeInAHamsterWheel you had to go and tempt fate by talking about the sunshine! It's raining now and I can see the trees swaying in the gale.

I hope everyone spoils you rotten @Taytocrisps You poor thing! That sounds like a massive shock.

Holy wells were on the radio earlier. Apparently travellers dip a piece of ribbon in any holy wells they come across and it takes on the propeties of them all... throats arthritis eyesight etc. Which seems a useful piece of ribbon to have.

There was a documentary about the holy wells maybe on TG4 where they tested the water and each one contained minerals that would be beneficial to whatever ailment they were reputed to cure!

@JaneJeffer I missed that story but I can totally relate to it. I've just paid my car tax and I had to take a photo of my car insurance disk, so I could magnify the photo and read out the digits. I have spectacles somewhere...... Which reminds me, why do we have to enter the car insurance details in order to pay the car tax? I have that same rant every year.
