I got to register for the vaccine today, but unlike my DD who is in Poland and was given an appointent when she registered today there, no indication of exactly when this will happen...

theDudesmummy · 06/05/2021 11:47

I like the optimism of The Exit. Although I suspect I am going to be one of these people who is scared to go out/travel for a while...

LadyEloise · 06/05/2021 13:02

Thanks Carriemac for the new thread. Hopefully we're on the home straight now.

Thesagacontinues · 06/05/2021 13:05

Dia duit.

I agree @theDudesmummy I find myself feeling very uneasy now if I go somewhere and see a lot of people congregating.

eggandonion · 06/05/2021 13:43

I registered early last week, as did my husband, and we got appointments next Tuesday. In the same place, 40 minutes apart. And I have a hair appointment a couple of weeks later!
All I need now is a return to work plan!
My husband and kids would like to keep a work from home/office balance. Husband misses his canteen lunch, youngest works for a company with an on site barista.

Thanks @Carriemac for the thread..
The weather is nicer today- brighter but cooler still.
Better than yesterday when I spent most of it rushing to the line to grab clothes before the showers got them!
There was a guy on today's DM from maynooth college re the housing estates been bought up.. it was very interesting. Dermot and Daves show just before the 11 am news..

Go raibh maith agat don thread nua, a Carrie.

It is starting to feel positive with the registration for the vaccine. DH can register this week; I need to wait for the forties cohort. I'll be skipping in and out of the centre when my turn comes.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 06/05/2021 15:04

Thanks for the new thread @Carriemac

My god hail and thunder yesterday! Please god that's the end of it now and we can enjoy some summer weather.

And hopefully the vaccine rollout will gather pace and we'll all be done by the end of the summer. Feeling a bit more positive now!

I have the Indo on an app.

Longford WTAF.

I want to come home, I lost two family members in a month, I need to go home and grieve.

Selfish bastards.

Yes, I saw it Finally. Very selfish of them.

My condolences to you on your losses Flowers
I hope you can come home soon.

Fuzzy I love your closing comment on the last thread too Grin

Apileofballyhoo · 06/05/2021 15:58

Missed the last thread totally, glad this one popped up in active now! Did anyone hear Joe Duffy today about the menopause? I think he's covering more of it tomorrow. The terrible care basically!

AnnieJ1985 · 06/05/2021 16:03

GRMA for the new thread, I lost track of the last one.
Looking forward to hopefully having some sort of a summer with the extended family. If it would ever bloody warm up.

eggandonion · 06/05/2021 16:07

Sometimes youd wonder if people in marquees, at wakes, in shebeens etc. Are having covid parties.
I have a friend who wishes she had had it, so it would be out of the way Confused

Like the chickenpox parties of long ago. You would be nuts!
eggandonion · 06/05/2021 16:51

I am increasingly discovering that a lot of people who seems sensible are nuts!

Apileofballyhoo · 06/05/2021 16:56

I'm with you on that egg. I felt very shaken by what some people I know considered to be fine!

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 06/05/2021 16:58

True!

What was the story of Joe Duffy and the menopause, Apile? (That's a very strange pairing!)

LadyEloise · 06/05/2021 17:07

Apileofballyhoo
I too heard Joe Duffy today and a bit of it yesterday.
It would put the fear of God into you re the menopause but great that a somewhat taboo subject is getting airtime.
