I only know they exist as we dropped dd2 there for a walk last summer, it's well hidden.

SuddenArborealStop · 07/05/2021 12:51

I heard Joe I think he had a voice actor reading women's letters some were so sad. I am only 36 but I suspect peri menopausal so I'm not looking forward to having to fight doctors.
My boss and me are the only people in the office. He got used to talk radio when there was no one around during lockdown so when I came back from maternity I got to listen too, he's deaf as a post I don't have a choice.
Last week was porn and this week menopause so it was all erections and dry vaginas and me trying my best to pretend I couldn't hear it.
Lovely day today ,I got my hair cut and I'm in the back having a break. I know hair is Monday but my friend does mine so we just said a couple of days early. I have a penny's appointment even though I have no idea what I'll buy in there. Its just something to do!
parents are vaccinated so dinner there on Sunday, definitely feeling good.

HAHAVeryBunny2 · 07/05/2021 13:03

@eggandonion it's a nose swab test you. You swap, mix with the product provided, then place on the testing kit and you know the results in 10-15 mins.

HAHAVeryBunny2 · 07/05/2021 13:06

*swab, not swap

eggandonion · 07/05/2021 13:50

I listen to the radio in work, but tend to zone out, only to zone in to something a bit 'bodily'. I should lister to rte gold.
Nose swabs sound better than throat.

tazzy73 · 07/05/2021 16:00

Hi all,
Just letting you know anyone from 50 years onwards can now register for vaccination. My dh just did it there. Originally it was different age per day however they are now taking from 50.
Weather fantastic here in Meath.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 07/05/2021 16:04

Last week was porn and this week menopause so it was all erections and dry vaginas and me trying my best to pretend I couldn't hear it. this made me Grin

My boss is quite the over-sharer so I'm glad we don't share an office with Joe Duffy in the background, god knows what confessions would ensue!!

eggandonion · 07/05/2021 16:19

My boss watches medical documentaries, so I don't have to. Every incision, amputation, procedure will be related to me.

Lipz · 07/05/2021 19:45

Anyone know what's the crack with Debenham's? I know they closed down, pickets, liquidators etc... I got an email from them saying Boohoo had taken over and they have their Web site up and running and to create a new account. When I went in, it's still called Debenham's, looks like Debenham's and I'm itching to buy some things, cos Debenham's is my absolute favourite store. Is it safe? Will they deliver?

FinallyFluid · 07/05/2021 23:52

Well BooHoo also bought Wallis who have gone on line, I bought, I sent back, they refunded, except the two parcels where I sent two back and have only been refunded for one.

They owe me £50, I have emailed and emailed to no avail, yesterday I emailed using the words county court action and all of a sudden I had a holding response.

I think they are in administrative uproar and despite loving some of their stuff, I am steering well clear for the foreseeable future, though I am looking forward to issuing under the CCA of 1984. Grin

eggandonion · 08/05/2021 10:55

I hate online shopping. I have to try things on, I have no idea what size I am due to eating buns.
I liked a wander in Debenhams, I can't afford Brown Thomas. If I have to go to a wedding without Debenhams I will be in trouble. My nephew was supposed to be getting married in Cheshire, my builder was advising me on places to go. Eighteen months ago. Confused
Unprecedented times can jog on.

Lipz · 08/05/2021 11:58

That's good to know, I'll hold off from ordering anything just in case. Dds making her confirmation, it was supposed to be March originally and I bought an outfit for myself but its quite wintery, its now june/July depending on guidelines, so I'm assuming it'll be nice out so will need a 2nd outfit now 🙄 it's crappy as I've piled on weight in last year and everything I like doesn't hide it.

Thesagacontinues · 08/05/2021 13:28

I find the next website fantastic for occasionwear. They have a huge range and suit all different budgets. Got some really nice expensive looking dresses there which look way more expensive than they actually were.

Im the same and have piled on weight in the last year. I need to start taking action soon or none of my clothes will fit me when I do have to return to the office Confused

There was a mix up with a delivery to our self build during the week so I had to drive to a hardware store in a big town 30 minutes away. It was like a day out! I felt nervous though as I havent driven on busy roads for so long.

The weather is nice here today so I'm sitting outside while I can. Im browsing online for a birthday present for my dare devil DS who will be 2 in June.

halfpasteleven · 08/05/2021 15:27

@Thesagacontinues my DD will be 2 in June. Smile

I've said this before, but I find shoes the hardest thing to buy online.. and I have to admit to keeping some pairs that if I'd tried them on in a shoe shop I'd have sized up or down or even gone for something completely different.
I'm wary of shopping centres though - I think I'll be trying on shoes in the shops literally on the street before I go back to shopping centres.. they seem so enclosed now..

JaneJeffer · 08/05/2021 15:30

Anseo.

I got the Debenhams email but they don't seem to deliver to Ireland anymore?

Lipz · 08/05/2021 16:06

@JaneJeffer

Anseo.

I got the Debenhams email but they don't seem to deliver to Ireland anymore?

Ooh that's good to know. I just had a browse through their lovely things and didn't check out the delivery part. Off to have a look at next.
JaneJeffer · 08/05/2021 16:17

I'm not 100% Lipz but I couldn't see the option on the website. Does AddressPal still work or has it been Brexited?

eggandonion · 08/05/2021 16:32

I thought uk address pal was paused earlier in the year? My dd got a few things recently from asos.
My feet ...I get skechers for work, they aren't always the same size, even similar styles vary in sizing.

CliffsofMohair · 08/05/2021 16:59

I think AddressPal is back with increased post Brexit charges

JaneJeffer · 08/05/2021 17:01

Probably makes it not worthwhile so. Postage rates are going up as well.

LadyEloise · 08/05/2021 18:38

An Post's AddressPal which was brilliant has increased their charges post Brexit Angry
You now have to have an account set up so they charge you that way. In the past your parcel was delivered to a post office of your choice and you could collect it at your leisure and pay for the delivery there. A brilliant system.
But An Post changed it - your parcel is now delivered to your home address and probably left on your doorstep to be robbed SadI've seen a few parcels just dumped on doorsteps/ outside gates. An Post isn't to blame for them all of course.
Plus they've increased the charges.
So it's not as user friendly.

Carriemac · 08/05/2021 20:18

I have been forwarding a few parcels form Uk to Ireland for people recently . Add a happy birthday card and put gift on the customs form.

@Thesagacontinues you’ve reminded me that I probably need to sort out something to wear for ds’ confirmation. I was vaguely hoping that it would be on zoom and I wouldn’t have to bother getting dressed up😂 It was always a bit of a nightmare finding something suitable in normal times. I haven’t a hope!

@halfpasteleven I’m the exact same re. shoes and shopping centres!
