We actually need visitors to make us tidy the place up!
I'd like a few days in Donegal just now, or in a couple of weeks when the hour changes. I am so fed up with five kilometers.
My ds and his partner have taken annual leave after Wednesday, but they are in Dublin, we are in Cork. His partner would love to be able to see her family and I think he'd quite like to see us, if just for a change of scene!

@AnnieJ1985 that's incredibly hard. Flowers
My parents are only 5k away from me. I went for dinner on Sunday but felt incredibly uncomfortable. Not very many cases around her but I'm concerned about the ones who are not getting tested or asymptomatic.
My parents think I am over thinking it but I am not.

@CherryValanc

As I said up thread the profile of who has got the blood clots is essential. If they are (male) over 40, obese and inactive then they are at risk of DVT anyway.

There's millions of people who have had AZ vaccine in UK and hw many have reported to have blood clots?

I can't help feeling it's a way to dump Az because of their on-going behaviour with supply - both Pfizer and J&J are available for use in the EU now.

DH has had the vaccine without issue and was specifically called early for it as he has a history of blood clots but is not on medication. He's not obese, just a faulty vein/valve. No issues aside from feeling grotty for 24 hrs. The same clinic is also doing Pfizer so if they had concerns they'd have given him that.

It's bonkers I think. I'll be vaccinated in the U.K. before my father in his 70's in Ireland. Which is so disheartening as a visit home is going to be 6 months at this rate.

CherryValanc · 15/03/2021 18:20

That's it exactly - who had the blood clots is important information.

Not saying everyone who gets blood clots fits into the profile I described, but it's one that is at risk of DVT.

my mam has had her second jab and is adamant she's allowed mix indoors now with other vaccinated people. Her friend saw it on the news apparently. I'm now the baddie saying 'its not in the the rules yet".

eggandonion · 15/03/2021 20:44

My mil knows that too. Most of her friends have had a jab. None have had two.

M0rT · 15/03/2021 22:20

I completely empathise with the need for visitors to motivate the house cleaning!
I used to have people over to motivate me to clean the house Blush

The Late Late special looks good for tomorrow night. I never thought I'd spend Paddy's night watching the LLS.

LadyEloise · 16/03/2021 09:15

Did anyone watch the weddings during Covid programme on RTE 1 last night - My Little Big Day ?
It's worth a watch. I'm sure it's on the RTE Player.
It brought a tear to my eye.

JaneJeffer · 16/03/2021 09:48

I've recorded it @LadyEloise

Iblinkedandiamold · 16/03/2021 17:39

It during feel like st. Patrick's day. We rushed through arts and crafts today as we had nothing made. Way too much Teacher involvement for my liking but it had to be done. We made hats and flags and did a little parade out to the parents at hometime. The children started chanting Ireland Ireland. Although some were chanting Orange. Grin
It was so cute. They came up with the chant themselves, no input from me or the other girls. Grin

Ahh the innocence of preschool kids ❤️

It was so lovely to have the sun out today. Ok it wasn't hot, but it was so pleasant! Here's hoping it's the start of spring.

@JaneJeffer, yes she would be. Grin
Bless them, they just misheard.
I felt like today just went on a blur. Some of the Afterschoolers got homework which seems a little mean.
One more full week then off till easter. More activities to try and fit in.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone Shamrock. A very subdued one, even more than last year.

In a break with tradition, RTE are showing 'Show Boat' and not 'Flight of the Doves' or 'Darby O'Gill and the Little People' Shock. Who do they think they are, broadcasting this American import on our national day? Down with this sort of thing!

Taytocrisps · 17/03/2021 11:55

Oh and if anyone wants to watch the weddings programme @LadyEloise mentioned, it's repeated tonight at 11.15 p.m.

I love Flight of the Doves. It cracks me up so much (possibly not the aim of it).

Though I did genuinely liked the book as a child.
