Unlinked because I can't remember how to do it, and can't find Help thing.

You'd think some people in religious orders might have realised what was happening was wrong. But I suppose they were institutionalised, it was virtually impossible to do anything.
We considered making a break from our 5km tomorrow in the hope that guards would be busy in cork. But since everywhere is shut it seems pointless!

Break the 5km.
A nice walk far away with an ice-cream or hot-chocolate would be like a night on the town.
It is too cold for a picnic.

eggandonion · 06/03/2021 09:35

Ice cream is essential food shopping...
Dh had a dream about walking to work in a place we lived years ago, where he was going to have coffee and croissants. I had a dream that we had made a tiny shelter to hide in. It was very cramped.
I don't know if it might be worse to wake up and realise coffee and croissants in work isn't happening!

I've broken the 5km rule to go for a walk. It was lovely and really lifted my spirits. I didnt even go that far. Pre pandemic I would've said it was just down the road. Still in my county hyst 20kms away instead of 5km. Lovely walk though. A place I used to take for granted until I couldn't go anymore.
The coffee place is closed though so no tea and cake after the walk.

@ladyeloise yes, catriona palmer, I wonder if her birth mother ever felt ready to ''go public''

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 06/03/2021 11:18

Good morning! We are running out of thread :)

I hope the event in Cork today won't be troublesome.

LadyEloise · 06/03/2021 11:40

I hope there won't be trouble either.
What happened in Dublin last week was shocking.

Yes Number3BigCupOfTea.
Catriona Palmer was the author. I wonder what happened.

Just maxed out my credit card buying wooden flooring. I have no idea when I'll even get to put it down. Grin I have no regrets. Okay I do have some regrets.

halfpasteleven · 06/03/2021 15:38

We are toing and froing about converting the attic. 3 bed bungalow and four of us in it but it feels cramped. So much stuff!
As usual, it's not straightforward - ( something to do with the current roof height and the current floor height in the attic that might not make it easy for a tall person to do much up there) but it's possible.
I'd love it to be a "room" maybe not a bedroom or an office specifically ... I really think we will do it. We I need the space Smile
So @Iblinkedandiamold I say good on you for getting the flooring... once you have it you'll find a way to get it down!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 06/03/2021 16:04

We're the same @halfpasteleven! Something about the pitch and construction of our roof would make it a much trickier job than usual - typical for us Hmm Our neighbours recently got a huge log cabin thing in the back of their garden it's fully insulated and has electricity and plumbing etc it cost €15000. Their 16 yr old son sleeps in it. I don't think I'd like that I'd prefer if one of the DC used the attic space but still it's amazing and I love it as a "den" - DH says it's the perfect man cave I might have scoffed at that pre-covid but having seen more of him in the last year than the previous 25 I'm now thinking I'd love him to have a separate space to go to Grin

LadyEloise · 06/03/2021 16:36

@LifeInAHamsterWheel
Do you know what company your neighbour used for the log cabin or did they use separate trades ?

Emeraldshamrock · 06/03/2021 17:36

From the clip of the Cork protest the speaker is very calm asking for respect towards the garda in a peaceful manner hopefully it stays calm.
Lovely speech. I love the accent.

eggandonion · 06/03/2021 17:45

I'd love a log cabin to put dhs stuff into, he has a lot of stuff he never looks at in piles around the place.
I am so fed up cooking. Again and still.

I order a taks away from the local chipper. I just discovered their website and can order online. Not as nice as supermacs but a lot closer. Eating Ferrero Rocher and watching coming to America 2.

I just feel like we are tripping over each other here and the DC are young. (8 and 1). A space and a stairs would be lovely. That's typical for us btw @LifeInAHamsterWheel we've done a lot of work to the house in the last three years and hardly anything has gone smoothly!
