Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone applied for the GroceryAid School Essentials Grant this year for £150 per school age child towards school uniform?

If so, have you heard back yet?

I've been awarded the last 3 years and hate to admit, I do rely on it to help with school uniform costs so I'm worried we won't be awarded this year as they have changed their application process! Xx

I got an email to say I would be accepted on 11th July and that payment was successfully credited but have not received no payment so I phoned up and chased it up numerous times and was told 18th July due to administrative issues but still no payment.

I'm starting to wonder whether this year it is actually real or a scam

Clarke4 · 22/07/2024 09:07

Not a scam as I got mine.

It's 100% not a scam.
I've been paid it 3 times in previous years.

Have you phoned the helpline?
Bank details could have been submitted wrong etc xx

I received it last time I applied for it but since they changed to this Charis this year it don't seem right

I double checked before I sent it that I sent right bank details

I've phoned up numerous times and they are unable to help over the phone because it's only down to that Charis grants and they told me she don't apply by emails so they got in touch with her and then she said administrative issue payment 18th July but got nothing.

Can you not contact Charis directly? X

Not a scam as I got mine.

I just don't understand why I haven't got mine they told me 11th then 18th and I made sure when I submitted my bank details were correct I've just phoned up the helpline for the 4th time now and I've emailed the email of Charis grants don't get replies as helpline told me they don't reply.

Also the helpline are unable to help me they said.

Amylaura2024 · 22/07/2024 10:13

Still no email or payment

Strawbsss · 22/07/2024 10:44

It's frustrating because barely anyone has commented on the Facebook page or this thread to say they've been successful. It's all people saying they haven't heard anything x

At this point I am just accepting that Iv been unsuccessful

Shazzy4 · 22/07/2024 12:12

Not heard anything my end either. First year of applying as never heard about this before. Despite working in the grocery industry for over 20 years 🤦🏼‍♀️

Starryleo89 · 22/07/2024 12:19

Still nothing here and I do have to admit, despite it being our first application, that im not liking this new way of doing it and all the uncertainty.

SezzyBabey · 22/07/2024 12:33

I've just contacted the helpline again and they said if it said 11th it was meant to go in and then the 18th then I've got to give it till tomorrow and if it don't go in tomorrow then it won't ever go in.

But I find it bad saying I was accepted for it and it will be credited and I get nothing so far.

Assuming every applicant is applying for 2 children then that means 3333 applications will be successful. I've seen about 5 so far on here and Facebook

Peachessmith · 22/07/2024 14:33

Nothing on my front so I'm going with I haven't been successful, I received it last year but not the year before as was too late in applying. I work days and nights so I understand why they have done it so everyone can apply but they should of just sorted through them and the successful people all get a email same time and unsuccessful too instead of this way.

I emailed today and just got this back

Strawbsss · 22/07/2024 16:50

I'd be interested to know how many applications they have received so we can work out a rough chance of being accepted x
