Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone applied for the GroceryAid School Essentials Grant this year for £150 per school age child towards school uniform?

If so, have you heard back yet?

I've been awarded the last 3 years and hate to admit, I do rely on it to help with school uniform costs so I'm worried we won't be awarded this year as they have changed their application process! Xx

I still haven't heard anhthing and 3 children - tesco😕😕 it's not looking likely then. Is it just every Monday they seem to be paying in?

Some had it Tues and fri I think

I've not been paying much attention to any posts etc the last couple of days. We live on the road next to where the Southport stabbings happened and I'm just heartbroken.

I'm ashamed all I've worried about for weeks is this bloody grant when people have lost their children 💔

Has anyone had/heard if asda have had the grant?
I've 3 children and 1 week into the 6 weeks I'm terrified I won't have any funds for their last bits like shoes. I've tried to find the best bargains and got all their main uniform is in but I can't even treat them to 1 amazing day because I'm holding onto what I have for uniforms

Hi , I have been following this thread from the start, I am Iceland . Still no payment , I have totally given up now ! it's just wrong how there have done it this year , I feel like a lot of people will have to go with out this year , and the cost uniform for children going into year 7 it's defo not cheap !! I only have the one child at school and even for 1 child it's sharp adds up !

Yes to this! I've got 2 in high school this year, my son is in y9 and my daughter going in to y7. Just for 1 blazer for them each, 2 skirts and one p.e kit (my sons still fits him luckily) was £170. We are lucky enough that our school gives a voucher out for y7 students to cover £92 of it but that's before school shirts, trousers, school shoes, p.e trainers, bags, coats and stationery. This grant is a massive help and I said earlier in the thread it's not really a fair way of dividing out the funds. It literally comes down to luck.

Bloody hell hope it quiets down, it was same in Leeds in airhills just after such a tragedy I was kinda thinking same as my girls so dance and I'm not too sure of all the details how he got in and why but so scary. There's nothing on my end but given up now, also shein school shoes are ok cheap and you can do clearplay they last longer than shoezone i found x

Just leaving a wee message to let you know I had an email from charis to say that I was unsuccessful. Unfortunately their limit has been reached and they had more applicants than funds. Really hope everyone else who is waiting hears word soon. 🙏 xx

I think 1-2 children families were prioritised.

I have three and haven't heard of many with three kids being awarded.

First time applying just had a email saying my application was not selected so no help for me but at least I know now.

Me too, I never got it just opened my email. Well that's it, what a shame, so wrong on how they have done it this year, so by the look it was families with 2 -3 children,

Same here! Just had an email saying I've not been selected. I actually do think it's just completely random however there has to be a better way to do it surely.

Hi 3rd year applying for 3 children and got email yesterday was awarded.

Just had an email saying I wasn't selected and I applied for 2 children 😔 guessed as much though with me not hearing anything.

I was unsuccessful too :( actually gutted tbh. Ah well xx
