It’s a lot less still and for what I pay for my council tax I get a lot more than my friends who stay outwith.

Our old 4 bed house in Scotland was a Band G, so water and sewerage charges would be £800 for 2022/23. Now down south, same size house and same water / wastewater usage but on a meter and we pay £360 a year for water and sewerage.

Thank you, I'm definitely going to ask again about a meter.

stopringingme · 23/01/2023 15:17

£35 per month on a meter

3 bed detached

€0. No water charges in Ireland.

There was a massive public backlash and large scale refusal to pay the bills when they tried to introduce charges around 8 years ago.

Personally I wasn't opposed to paying for water and the proposed charges were lower than most of the figures I've seen quoted in this thread (€160 a year for single adult households or €260 a year for more than 2 adults) but that plan was abandoned and doesn't look like it will be reintroduced.

HelpMeGetThrough · 23/01/2023 18:19

Over £1k per year, non-metered. South West Water

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 23/01/2023 18:40

Was £96 a month all year round before a meter, now £40 a month.
5 bed 2 people.

alwayscheery · 23/01/2023 21:29

£90 a month but lots of bathrooms. We pay extra to have a water treatment plant emptied.

Nachtvlinder · 23/01/2023 22:03

With Severn Trent Water, unmetered for myself only for 2-bed. It was a little higher when my daughter was at home, between £25 to £30. Was curious if it was cheaper on a meter, but it wasn't. Quite low usage normally compared to other families. 2 short showers a day, 2 washes a week and daily washing up for for myself.

dizzygirl1 · 24/01/2023 11:34

£25 a month, metered, wessex water. 3 bed, 1 adult, 2 teens. We don't waste water but use it without worrying.

OldTinHat · 24/01/2023 11:51

Can't believe ours is so high compared to everyone else's!

AuntieMarys · 01/02/2023 06:46

Ours has just gone down from 37 to 30! Yorkshire Water

PermanentTemporary · 01/02/2023 06:52

£20 a month, not on a meter. 2 of us but I think quite heavy use as I'm a bath fancier.

Scotland £0 - we don't pay for water, or prescriptions or university.....

What part of Scotland are you in its free. Where do I apply for the £400 refund for the water and waste I pay for every year ?
