3 bed detached 3 bathroom
£25 pm on a water meter

PollyEsther · 22/01/2023 20:58

About £60 total. £20 ish supply, £40 waste (separate companies).

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 22/01/2023 21:00

£70 a month. You can't compare water companies though as different areas charge different rates. We live in the 2nd most expensive place in England for water. We get ripped off compared to other areas but no competition so you just have to pay it.

Dogdogwoofwoof · 22/01/2023 21:02

£55 per month on metre

Just find it interesting how it does vary I guess.

Who supplies your water ? Some are more expensive than others. I'm with United utilities and it's about £34 per month for 2 people. With the amount of rain we get up here it should be cheaper!

HereComesMaleficent · 22/01/2023 21:07

Welsh Water here in Wales, the only water company.

£45pm for a small 2 bed house with one adult and one child.

Utilities I'm an pay as you go smart meter, it's about £40pm electric and at the moment £55 gas.

Yellowcakestand · 22/01/2023 21:08

2 people in a 2 bed. £50pm. No water meter

EVHead · 22/01/2023 21:08

About £220 per year for water and about £250 a year for waste water. Not metered.

CoorieInByTheFire · 22/01/2023 21:09

Scotland didn’t privatise it’s water.

RubertRoo · 22/01/2023 21:09

Not on a meter - pay £52 a month but only have to pay April - November. The winter months are no payment.

Rebel2023 · 22/01/2023 21:11

NW, £27pm for just me, on a meter
My dad lives in the same area and his is £12pm
I shower more and have long hair that takes ages to wash, and also like baths

I didn't know that!

Helendegenerate · 22/01/2023 21:13

I used to pay £38 per month before having a meter fitted. Immediately the monthly bill shrank to £18 and remains the same after 5 years. ( 2 bed house and I live alone)

My gas/electricity costs have doubled though 😟

onemouseplace · 22/01/2023 21:15

£52 a month (unmetered 4 bed house).

We were paying £50 a month in our old
place (3 bed/ 5 people) so this feels about right as our water usage hasn’t really changed.

Runnerduck34 · 22/01/2023 21:19

£90 per month, supply and waste water.
Not on a meter.
Family of 6, 4 teens, big garden decided for us a meter would cost more. When kids leave home we' ll get one!

Technically not true it's a part of our council tax

We do pay for it, but it’s a flat rate as part of our Council Tax bill.

Undertheoldlindentree · 22/01/2023 21:28

£68.14 a month - England. No meter (told would be more expensive). One adult, one teen. We don't use the bath, just showers. Dishwasher on every other night. Washing machine on 2-3 times a week. Don't use hosepipe regularly in summer. Seems high.

C1N1C · 22/01/2023 21:30

You can buy coconut water for £6 a bottle! 😛

Runnerduck34 · 22/01/2023 21:32

Just googled most expensive water company and it came up with south east water who are our supplier.
Still £90 a month for 10 months as a family of 6 is okish compared to what others are paying on here for smaller households

Bit gutted we don't get water included in our council tax bill like in Scotland!

Danikm151 · 22/01/2023 21:33

£16pm- on the big difference scheme with severn trent. 2 bed terrace

CoorieInByTheFire · 22/01/2023 21:33

It’s a lot less still and for what I pay for my council tax I get a lot more than my friends who stay outwith.

We still pay for water in Scotland. It's added to our council tax bills. So check your council tax bill cause it's not £0 @CoorieInByTheFire

I pay £369 per year for water and £428 per year for sewerage. That's for a 4 bed house in Fife.

We pay a separate charge on our council tax. I pay £147.60 for water and £171.36 for waste water so a total of £318.96 per year or £26.58 a month.
