My Gas and electric are £330 though.🤦‍♀️

£37.75 on DD charged over 8 months of the year;So works out at £25.16 a month.

We have one bathroom/toilet.There are 2 adults and 4 teenagers in our house plus a fifth teenager who stays a couple of days a week here.

I've no idea how our water company works it out.

Wheretheskyisblue · 04/02/2023 07:02

£25 per month. Family of 4. Metered. I think we get a discount on sewerage becuase we have reed beds.

needthiswilderness · 04/02/2023 07:05

£32 a month, un-metered, family of 4. Wessex Water. Always think it’s the most bargainous of our essential supplies 😁!

LT2 · 04/02/2023 07:44

£24 for 2 adults and a baby in a terrace

Thighdentitycrisis · 04/02/2023 08:19

Thames water
£50 per month unmetered. I water my garden every other day In Summer for an hour so decided against a meter even though I live alone.

I still think you'd save a fair bit on a Meter. We pay £55 a month for a family of 5 with one nightly bed wetter. So washing machine on twice a day, dishwasher twice a day, baths and showers for 5, dog showered off with hose nearly every day. Plus DH has the hosepipe on nearly daily through summer for half an hour a night!

User17649787 · 04/02/2023 16:10

We use the hose loads in the summer and have a meter, ours was changed to a smart meter recently so I shall be able to look at hourly use of water consumption for the hosing this year - how exciting 😁

Three tops tips:

  1. Check if you'd gain from moving to a water meter (typical savings £200) CCW (the water consumer body) have a easy to use calculator here www.ccwater.org.uk/watermetercalculator/
  2. If you are on a meter there are many easy ways to save water and money, top tips here www.ccwater.org.uk/households/using-water-wisely/
  3. See if you qualify for extra financial help from your water company. Details here www.ccwater.org.uk/households/help-with-my-bills/
There is also a really popular podcast to help explain this too: www.ccwater.org.uk/podcasts/ (Episode 21 is all about the new water charges and what we can do to help reduce their impact).

£861.11 per year or £86.11 per month, this is with a government discount of £50 for the year and a £30 water share discount! 2 adults, 2 children household.

We are unmetered, I’ve just checked water meter calculator and we would be worse off by over £300 per year if we switched. I’m very jealous of those of you paying £25 per month.

FAMILIES WITH 3 or more children
Did you know if your receiving child benefit for 3 or more dc
You can go on the WATER SURE tarrif
It massively reduces your bill as its capped. Even if f working or not.
Ours went from 67 to 36 a month. Just gets reviewed yearly and its not hassle at all

PinkPantherPaws · 26/02/2023 01:52

@ItsOKToFeelProud your post is misleading.

Having 3dc is not enough. You also need to be in receipt of a qualifying benefit like Tax Credits or UC to qualify for the Water Sure tariff. It's not for everyone.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/02/2023 22:42

£80 a month. Meter

Have spa over summer

That bumped it up

Was paying think £50

ItsOKToFeelProud · 26/02/2023 23:04

@PinkPantherPaws
We don't receive any of the above except child benefit 3dcs. And we get it. Each year the renewal is Oct and it just asks if still received CB.
Then we get a letter saying its done.

Im going to ring and check tomorrow now as dont want to get in trouble but we've had it 6 years

£48 for a 3 bed, 3 adults and 2 kids

£21 a month. No meter

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/03/2023 13:56

£17/month on a meter. I would happily pay more if it meant that the water companies would stop dumping sewage into the rivers.

Zippedydoo123 · 03/03/2023 14:17

£25 pcm. Me and ds in a two bed. We went over to a water meter at the start of the pandemic.

daffodilandtulip · 03/03/2023 14:20

I've recently changed to a water meter because my marriage has broken down and I needed to tighten my belt financially. Previously paying £48pm for a 3 people living in a 3 bed semi and now paying £18pm for 2 people at the same property.
