UU

30 - 35 a month

GiantKitten · 22/01/2023 23:32

Ours is £41, unmetered, with United Utilities (NW England).
Only for 10 months out of 12 though.
It would probably be cheaper with a meter, there are only 2 of us here most of the time.

@CoorieInByTheFire

Water and sewerage are itemised on your council tax bill. Paid as one but you can view how much you are paying on your bill.

Strawberry0909 · 23/01/2023 03:48

@Yellowcakestand do you have any leaky taps or does your toilet take ages to refill?

Our bill went upto nearly £100 at one point as the toilet was using 7 times as much water as needed! Once fixed wessex water back dated the bill and refunded us, your bill should show you how much you are using compared to average family of same size

3 bed detached, 4 people c. £80 / month. We're in the SW though where the water rates are very high.

Furries · 23/01/2023 05:04

Not on a meter and have 2.5 bathrooms here. Also not on mains sewage.

£17 per month for water and approx £90 per year for septic tank to be maintained.

£68.14 a month - England. No meter (told would be more expensive). One adult, one teen. We don't use the bath, just showers. Dishwasher on every other night. Washing machine on 2-3 times a week. Don't use hosepipe regularly in summer. Seems high.

I'm surprised you were told that. I work for a water company and generally a two person household will halve their water bill by being on a meter, unless they regularly hose the garden/have a swimming pool.

Undertheoldlindentree · 23/01/2023 07:02

Thsnks, I will ring again as had one more teen at home then, but really only one more set of showers/loo-flushing etc, Maybe that's the tipping point.

Ligglepiggle · 23/01/2023 07:04

£52 per month. Can’t have a meter so it’s apparently discounted

What area are you? In my own house we have two adults, use dishwasher most days, both shower daily (power shower) washing machine about 3 times a week and pay £30 a month.

Everygrainofsand1 · 23/01/2023 07:27

3 bed detached, 2 retired adults so we are there quite a bit, water meter £40 a month, we have a large garden and water it quite a bit

£0

Scotland didn’t privatise it’s water.

We do pay for water. It's part of our council tax charge. Look at your bill.

orbitalcrisis · 23/01/2023 07:43

4 adults in a 3 bedroom house on a water meter, I pay £80-90 every 6 months.

GladysPew · 23/01/2023 07:47

Free. We have a Well.
We do pay though to have the water tested occasionally and also for filters, a UV light and pump.
The previous owner didn't bother with any filtration and lived to be over 90 so guessing the water is pretty clear.

BluebellsareBlue · 23/01/2023 07:49

Scotland £0 - we don't pay for water, or prescriptions or university.....

MyDogStoodOnABee · 23/01/2023 07:52

£137 private water supply per annum non metered.

AuntieMarys · 23/01/2023 07:52

Yorkshire Water...£37 a month on a meter. 2 of us but have regular visitors.

FannythePinkFlamingo · 23/01/2023 07:56

South West Water, one of the most expensive providers in the country. Metered and we pay £45 pm. Just two of us now in a 3 bed terrace.

Alarae · 23/01/2023 10:31

Ours went down to £18 per month recently- 3 bed semi detached with 2 adults and a toddler. Thames Water.

xogossipgirlxo · 23/01/2023 10:43

£130-140 quarterly.

ShanghaiDiva · 23/01/2023 10:55

On a meter with south west water (most expensive water in England I believe) and pay £1k per year.

BasilParsley · 23/01/2023 10:55

£19.33 per month for fresh water and sewerage combined regardless of how much I use.

I'm an assessed charge because they can't fit a meter (three bed flat in an old Edwardian house conversion) - much cheaper than when I was on the rateable value calculation. Means I can be as profligate as I like with the bath and the hosepipe and don't have to pay any extra 😁

Thanks - maybe yours is metered? It's a lot less and I'm going to talk with my provider (Severn Trent).
