Good blackout practice! Made me realise I need to sort out proper candles/battery lanterns at some point soon - a dozen tealights aren't really cutting it.

I've got 5 tea lights and it's pretty dark!

5-6pm here too, stayed out of the house until 10 minutes ago as with two kids this is prime time for our usage!!

Same here. It says they'll credit me with the average earned by others in the session though..

I wonder if they managed to read any? I didn't turn off the router or the smart meter. They were the only things still plugged in!

Another one whose had a meter reading error. I really hope the meters it read are all owned by people with hot tubs and saunas 🤣
In reality though, other than turning off all power sockets for items on standby and lights which are led I'm not really sure what we may have done for saving

Me too! What's the point of that? There were 388,??? people on the website when I looked at the beginning did anyone's reading work?

I’m sure this was a trial run so Octopus can identify problems. Sensible really for such a new concept.

Ah I'm glad I read this thread first, I wasn't aware there had been an error so checked the app and saw the same error as everyone else .. but the error is itself an error, excellent!

I had assumed today was one of the rehearsal sessions the National Grid had planned, to iron out these kinds of issues (and good prep for us to make sure we're ready for the next one, which may help to avert an actual blackout). It's not an entirely new concept as Octopus did a similar scheme as a trial earlier in the year, which is why we were fully prepped with rechargeable camping lamps, battery packs, torches .. basically way more kit than you would need for an hour's low power usage (DH and ds insisted on still having the TV on).
