Octopus Saving Sessions

Anyone signed up for this? Payments for shifting your energy use away from peak times/within a given timeslot each day.

I was checking my octopoints and realised there was a 100 point bonus streak award missing. Emailed them to ask why, they didn't know but apologised and credited my account with £3. Considering the points I was chasing up were only worth 12.5p, I'm fairly pleased with that.

I’ve just checked and I am also missing points from the session on 14/12/22
I have emailed them just now. They might be getting quite a few emails now @NewBootsAndRanty 😆

No worries! i had points for the same date missing - could be a system glitch.

Results in for the last session...
Apparently they couldn't get my readings for the whole thing, so credited me with 832 points (apparently the average savings for that session).
Fine by me, considering I probably saved about a tenth of that!

472 points for us, but again ds was on half-term and playing on the PS5. Hoping for better luck next time.

Did you get bonus points for a streak? I didn’t this time.

I'm a low user anyway but was in the office that day and didn't make it home in time to switch the power off (mainly the fridge-freezer). Slightly disappointing as I'm usually working from home at that day so I think I might have saved a princely 1p or 2p but not even that. 😝

My bonus/streak points showed up today @WombatChocolate

I get more points in the “streak” than I do during the session. I find it hilarious that the lowest amount of points I got was the week we were away so everything was switched off in the house that could be. They obviously looked at usage a couple of days before as if they’d compared it to the same day the week before we’d have saved loads!

Last minute savings session alert! Octopus have just announced one tonight at 18:30 for an hour.

I’ve opted in but it’s a bit late notice for me. I got in from work at 18:15 and eldest DS iPad had 4% battery and youngest sons is completely flat. I normally put them on charge in the morning before I go to work when I know there’s a session so we can turn everything off. So we have two TVs still running but everything else is off.

We didn’t get the notification until it was too late to join. Probably wouldn’t have saved anything though as we’d just got in and needed to be quite electricky. Shame.

This is my first one of these, only im with eon. They informed me yesterday it was 6.30 to 7.30. I will findout soon ive been successful I guess.

I only arrived home part way through the session so suspect my savings will be minimal. I switched everything off as soon as I came in but....

Another one tomorrow from 18:30 to 19:30.

Neither have I, it can take a while sometimes.

Ah, we'll actually be out between 18:30 and 19:30 tomorrow, so might do quite well but can't do anything proactive like turning off the freezer for an hour.

Isn't it funny how time drags when you are doing it. I've got a weird clicking noise in the lounge, might be the tv cooling down as I've been watching Young Sheldon for hours today!

I've actually found it quite relaxing and chilled - it was the last one night!!
