Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how long PIP are taking to make a decision? Just had my assessment there on the 12 of October.

Hi. It may be different but I appled for child DLA for my daughter this year (DWP) and despite their website saying it should take eight weeks, and the call centre operator later telling me 12, it was 14 weeks before I had a decision.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 17/10/2022 17:06

I claimed in April, assessed early August and decision before the end of September.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 17/10/2022 17:07

Sorry before the end of August not September

Janemcconnell18 · 17/10/2022 20:06

Thanks everyone for the replies, I'm thinking could be December before I get a decision, but I hope not lol x

My MIL waited about two and a half weeks recently for a decision after assessment.

I rang yesterday and my report from the assessment hasn't been sent to them yet, they said when they get the report they send a text message to let you know and they try have a decision made in 4 weeks from they receive the report so I'm praying before Xmas.

Hi everyone. PIP have received my assessment report on Thursday, so praying they sint take long with a decision. Been going through hell with dla with my son who is getting assessed for asd and is non verbal so I have zero faith in the pip aswell. But the waiting about is what causes so much anxiety so hopefully won't be too long with a decision.

Just been through this recently with my Dad - form sent off in Aug, telephone assessment about 6 weeks later and then about 4 weeks until we received the decision. Good news is that if you are awarded any assistance it is backdated to when you first sent in the form so he has just received a lump sum to cover the Aug - Oct period

Janemcconnell18 · 03/11/2022 15:08

I'm on week 2 of waiting for the decision so another 2 weeks and I should know 🤞

No nothing yet 😩 3 weeks for me on Wednesday. Although they did tell me it is taking up to 4 weeks for a decision, I did think it would be sooner. Hopefully not too long for the both of us.

I think it takes longer if you haven't been awarded anything from them, so not hopeful lol

I’m losing hope especially after reading soo many threads fingers crossed 🤞 for both of us

Strangerthings4NW · 07/11/2022 16:42

I applied in June, assessed in October. Got a txt to say a decision will be made within 8 weeks.

I could cry!!

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 07/11/2022 16:50

Blinking heck, I’ll
take your timescales. When I rang up recently to add something onto
my claim I was told that that the company they use to carry out the assessment process are currently advising they’re taking up to 5 months at the moment.

I’ve had my claim in since September and I am hoping that it’ll be agreed and paid before Christmas. I’ve had a claim before which I’m trying to reinstate (my fault it lapsed).

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 07/11/2022 16:52

Fingers crossed for everybody was missing off that.
Please can we have that edit button MNHQ

Janemcconnell18 · 07/11/2022 17:07

I've seen so many things online about people being turned down aswell so I have zero faith in them to make the right decision with me. I rang them last week and they said a decision would be made within the next 2 weeks and said decisions are taking up to 4 weeks.

When my partner applied in May I think it was August he had an assessment and about a week later got his decision letter.

PinkButtercups · 12/11/2022 08:14

Oh and he didn't get awarded anything.

But funnily enough I was watching a programme and some people at the job centre I think it was would sit down and write the form out with you because apparently that can help your case so just goes to show that someone more informed with the system helping you with a form can change the outcome...

I did think I would have had a decision by now. I applied on the 8th of August assessed on the 12th of October. Praying it won't be much longer.

I'm not hopeful about the outcome to be honest, but would just rather know than keep waiting about as it's literally making my anxiety 100x worse.
